Thrift intentionally in 2024, sounds like a good strategy for team Ray! Take care of yourselves by using time wisely, you work hard and accomplish an astonishing amount each week! Blessed and safe days!
I got 4 of the pressed oak chairs at an auction this weekend for $1 for all of them. I was so excited! They are the nicest quality I’ve ever had at my table. ❤ I live in a rural area, so the thrift stores aren’t that great, but I find a ton of great stuff at local auctions.
*Jami, I just thought of something else I said once to someone who was "grabby" with me at the thrift store: As I held on to the item, I looked at the top of of their head and said, "WOW! Is that a spider 🕷 in your hair?" And they IMMEDIATELY dropped the item they were trying to grab out of my hands 👐 like it was a hot potato and started to run both hands through their hair trying to brush away the spider 🕷 out of their hair, as I calmly walked away‼️😁😝🤣* *NICE HAUL TODAY...L🖤VED the leather wall clock, the mantel clock, 🕰 the chargers, the royal blue 💙 drinking glasses, that clear pressed glass "Wexford" pattern milk pitcher, the 1930's Hocking or Anchor ⚓️ Glass Juice pitcher with the aqua and orange 🍊 painted accents, the bunny with the fabric ears, the pink and clear glass basket...AND THE BRASS MALLARD DUCK HEAD BOOKENDS that you DIDN'T BACK DOWN ON, JAMI - YAY YOU❣️❣️❣️💜💜💜💕👏👏👏*
That happened to me today at goodwill with a purse. It was hung on the cart and I got it down and some lady snatched it from me. And then just walked away. It took me a min to even realize what she did. She booked it to checkout line. Like we didn't both have a hold of it. I thought I was standing there alone. 😂 people are wild sometimes while thrifting. Glad you didn't back down.
It is such a blast thrifting along with you guys! I watch a few other thrifter channels and they are not nearly as fun as you! Thanks for taking us along on your adventures!
Well when you drive a Very expensive SUV, you try to take care of it, and it’s good to walk, even if I had a old clunker, I would park in the back, I am 65, and I need to walk for exercise,
Love ❤️ that the two of you both go first to separate sections in the store then come back together- you scope out more that way 😆 love 💕 that you thrift together. I’m only a few seconds into the video but had to stop and tell you that lol. Now I will continue watching ❤
I was shocked at that woman but not surprised. I run into a lot more rude people these days. They seem so entitled! Good for you Jami for standing up for yourself with class.
From your thrifting adventures I have learned that some really expensive kitchenware can be found on the cheap and in great condition. Love your videos and your positivity. 🤩
I went to a Habitat for Humanity Restore in Raleigh, NC, and found four chairs I’ve been looking to find. I also found an end table that is exactly what I needed. Now I have to rent a vehicle, at I have no idea the cost to take them to my home. The prices are great for the furniture but at a higher cost to transport. They charge $99 at the store for transporting by a third party, for either delivery or pick up of donations. I like helping stores that help the community. This one gives to the Alzheimer’s Association, its funds. I think I’ll get my grandson to drive the rental vehicle, to get the items I need.
My husband drops me off at the door, and he parks way out in the back 40! His reason is the same as Zebs, but it's usually adults who are really inconsiderate, and park too close to his car (he also never parks next to another car), and let's their door open into ours! He loses his mind when he sees a new ding or scratch! He's so careful with our 6 vehicles, and he's the only driver!!! (There is a good reason for most of the 6 cats, but he's obsessed with cars and can't pass up a great deal!)
Good for you for standing your ground with the book ends. I had a guy snatch a vintage case out of my hands 2 weeks ago at goodwill. Some people are just tools
Hi Jami... I completely related to your comment about looking at what other people have in their cart and trying not to be too disappointed in missing something. I'm not a reseller or anything, but I love a good thrift store browse and find. One time, I saw a lady with a vintage suitcase (small-ish) in her cart it was so unique - it had to be from the 1940s. I saw her earlier by chance and it wasn't in there then, so I made a nice comment about the find and she said she saw it coming in on a cart, man I *almost* could have been the duck bookends lady!...lol😂 jk. Loved shopping with you both today! ~Laura 😊
the lady bunny with the 2 baskets that are open are to place a fern. silk flower . some kind of plant. hole is just big enough to get a small hunk of florist foam into
We always park close in the handicap section but if no empty spots my husband will drop me off in front and go find a space . I think you both got a good haul ❤
That heavy glass/vase about 12” tall - might be a collectible from an old restaurant Winsteads. They use to serve a large large ice cream float in it. Serves several people. You might look it up.
😂😂 I always get comments about how far I park from the store but when you have a big car, it's easier. Also, I don't mind walking and I prefer to film from far away, it looks better
I think with you two sharing where you live, and where you thrift, you have secret followers, who now mimic what you do and are fighting over the things that you want. lol But I love that you share it it’s what makes sure UA-cam channel
I don’t think this lady was a follower. But I’m sure that it does sometimes make it so there is less stuff. But it’s okay because somehow we always find plenty lol.
OK lol😂 I had to stop the video to answer this one, it depends if I’m driving my car or if I’m driving my husband’s huge diesel truck on where we park.🤣😉 And it also depends if I’m driving or if he’s driving. I like to park up front. He likes to park way out in the middle of nowhere.😂 drives me crazy!😜🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Oh how I wished I lived near you! I have five of the chairs like the one you found by itself and I am desperately looking for a sixth. But alas I live way to far away. Such a bummer when you see someone thrifting and you know you aren't close enough to buy it.
Ohmygosh can you even believe that woman?! We all know if we're 1st at thrifting or grabbing something vintage at an antique store or flea market. Who does that?! Glad you got the bookends & stood your ground! Love the creamer & pitcher❤ it'll be so cute planted it some greens put in it🌿💚 The canning jar looks unique! Let us know if it's antique!
You are so right...park as far away but, people are ignorant and still hit your doors...I parked away from store and a little old lady pushed her buggy away from her car hit mine...I lost it.
Hi , I’ve noticed your prices are going up just like our charity shops in UK but they haven’t just added a little to price ,some things are 3 times what they were last year 😢
I find it interesting when thrifters say they can't find anything. Whether it's at a thrift store or the Goodwill bins. One can ALWAYS find items to resell. It's just some days you may not feel it, or you're being selective or "picky" and not realize you're being selective or "picky." Because as I watch these videos, I see items being passed over, while in other videos, you would or have bought the same item. (When I say "you," I'm referring to thrifters in general). I believe 98 percent of items in thrift stores can be repaired, refurbished, re-purposed, or upcycled if someone chooses to do so. So when thrifters say they aren't, can't, or didn't find anything, it's because they just weren't "feeling" it. I mean if someone does this on a regular basis, they are going to have days where they just aren't "feeling" it. (FYI...I watch several resellers on UA-cam, and it's the same with all of you, I watch you guys (resellers in general) walk past items or pass on items that you have purchased in past videos, or you purchase in future videos. So...instead of saying you can't or didn't find anything, just say you weren't "feeling" it. However, I enjoy watching all the videos regardless if you purchase anything or not.

Good for you for keeping those book ends. Don't ever allow people to take advantage of you. Some people think they are entitled. Love your videos.
I agree, plus the lady could easily tune in on Saturday night's thrift haul and buy them, just sayin! Have a great day :)

That bookend woman is insane! Zeb you did get a big clock! Just walking away from crazy is always a good plan😂🥰
You’re so lucky to have that view and the snow.
You go with your brass duck book ends lol 😂
I sure did all the way to the cash register. Also helps that I travel with Zeb. No one usually messes with me. But she was spicy.

Those Wooden Rabbits were popular in the 90's. Most of us painted ours, the Fabric Ears were switched out each month for Seasonal/Holidays👍🏼
Definitely want a close to the door parking space !! Loved the big clock and the 2 pack of Rae Dunn yard pieces !!!
I really like that little sailboat.
I’m an up close parker. I drive very old cars, so I don’t stress about it.
If the weather is nice, I park far. If it's raining hard, windy, snowy and/or cold, look for a close spot.
I TRY to park further away because walking is good for you. But as soon as I see a nice close one, I zip right into that spot.
Something that I will never hear my husband say: "We need to get to another thrift store fast." I think it is so great that you two thrift together.

You could bulk paint spray a base color on some things and then do a vieo on accents, decals, distressing, waxing etc. :)
We use our paint sprayer in the warm weather. It’s to cold to spray right now
