Pro tip: any time you are upholstering or covering foam for cushions-cover the foam first with one layer of quilt batting then use your chosen fabric to finish the cushion. The quilt batting takes the sharp edges and sharp corners off of the foam, creating a more pleasing and professional finish to your cushions. This is for chairs, couches, benches, window seats and any other type of cushion. This post is meant to share valuable knowledge, not meant as criticism!
I’m a 74 yr old crafter but have become addicted to flipping. My friend whom I’ve known since we were 6 love thrifting and flipping. Thanks for sharing.💕
Painting Tip: I use a lazy Susan to paint small/medium sized pieces. Makes painting so much easier & faster. I have a 22 inch wooden lazy Susan that I thrifted many years ago and I still use it for 90% of my painting projects.
I think your homemaking material will be so awesome because the world tries to make homemaking unimportant. Raising a family is the greatest gift God could give.
I can’t believe I spent the afternoon attached to the tablet watching all the DIY projects. I was so in love with the work you were doing. I liked all of them. You are very creative. Blessings 🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍❤️
I just tried my hand at decoupaging for the first time today. I used rice paper, and it moved a little bit on me. I was able to move the paper a little, but not as much as it needed to be moved. You have to start somewhere, and I think it looks good for a first time. I love the upgrade and I love the design. It looks wonderful to me. Perfectly imperfect. I redid my mother in law's dresser tray.
Hi Susie. I’ve just found your channel and love your ideas. I wonder what the table would look like with racing stripes on the side to offset the error ?? I love the chairs. I’ll be busy watching all your videos. Thanks for sharing. Brenda Romero. Watson , LA.
We did it! Just discovered your channel today. Watched the entire video. Loved all your upcycles. So did my hubby. We are originally from the great state of Alabama (Roll Tide ) now living in near Seattle Wa. Also, subscribed. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Too many projects, I love them all!!!! I do LOVE ALL THINGS birds, chickens, and sunflowers!!! I liked how the table and chairs turned out ( so farm tablely) 🥰🥰🥰🥰
I'm a first time viewer of you Susie and I've watched the entire video. I loved everything you made, you make it all look so easy. lol Thank you for sharing this video with us. xxx
I love the bench and bread box! I also love the fact that you share your "mistakes" and how you just start again!! GREAT Video!! Appreciate you sharing!
Love the mail box. Beautiful bottle with roses. Lamp is my favorite and you did a beautiful job! Sage color is one of my favorites. Mirror is so pretty. Nightstand is just gorgeous! Love it.
Loved and appreciated this! 💞 It was very relaxing. Upon each glance up to the TV, I was pleasantly inspired in some way. Your voice and presentation are always sweet and relaxing, Miss Susie. 💐 May our Lord bless you and your loved ones, and keep y'all safe. Thank you, ma'am, from Texas! 🌱🪻💜🙏 ✝️🌿
Im from Adelaide Australia 🇦🇺 and this is the first time I have watched your videos and I’m enjoying them, I lost my husband 2 yrs ago and only seems like yesterday, but watching you do all of the craft works I’m finding it’s very destressing so THANK YOU ❤❤
I”m sorry to hear you have lost your mate. You don’t give your age, but from living with myself, I know how hard it is to restart your life and your creative side, after losing a loved one. I still have my husband, but I lost both my daughter and my mother to death within the same year a few years back. I had been with my mother night and day for three years. When she died, I didn’t even get out of the house for weeks. I got anxiety when driving. It has taken me five years to get out and go places. I am 74 now, and have several problems , health wise, that make it hard for me to get out and about every day, but I do try to drive myself to town at least once a week. I enjoy buying things from thrift or antique stores. Four years ago, I started taking classes to learn to paint Bob Ross style landscapes. Now my home is filled with nice paintings. Learning to paint was a bucket list thing for me. My next big bucket list item is to go by train from Chicago, IL to Sacramento, CA., during the winter. I want to see the mountains with snow on them. I live full time in Alabama, USA. We seldom have snow so if I want to see winter scenes, I have to travel northward! Chin up, friend. Start slowly and get back into the things you enjoy, or want to learn to enjoy. God Bless you and yours during this joyful season!
Shirley Drake; I could have written the letter you wrote. I’m even in Alabama! I lost my precious daughter 10 years ago. It is a battle. You tube and creators have helped me a lot. I am praying for you. That train trip sounds awesome. I would like to do that as well. Keep going forward, one step at a time.
Don’t under estimate yourself, you are doing such fantastic work on all the pieces and you don’t charge enough to cover the cost of your precious time and work that put into each item.. ❤❤❤❤❤
I'm sure you now go ahead and rough up your new stamps all at the same time before you take any off the sheet. So much easier than one at a time. Wow. Your paint inlay lampshade turned out fabulous!
I think you and I like the white wax look more. I like some dark wax, grunge looks but the white wax has my heart for sure! Great projects and I just picked up an old small tackle box and makeup case so happy to see different options! Great video! 😊
Hey Susie! Great video! I have an idea for you when doing those stamps. Before you put the ink on the stamp, place it on the plastic backing, turn it over and put pieces of painters tape hanging off the sides so that when you put it on the product that you are stamping, you could secure them on all sides, once you have it in place. Then you could use a roller over the whole thing and remove easily. Should stop that occasional slip.
Holy Crap! Are you from Alabama? Me too. Where is your booth, and have you sold your table and chairs? I was wishing you were close to me, I would love to go see your booth. If you are far away, you could record the booth on your phone and show it to us.
I just recently came across your channel and so happy I did, I absolutely love everything you make! I watched the entire compilation video and I liked everything! I can't wait to continue watching to see what else you create!
Tip for round surfaces 😊~ Use moving tape or tissue paper. Stick a few strips down on the table and then add your stamp to the tape. When you go to stamp it, it’ll be easier to go around the round surface. You could also use tissue paper. Stamp your image on the tissue paper (tear the image out so it’ll have jagged edges and it’ll blend better) then decoupage it on your round surface. Use whatever decoupage medium you like. I personally like “DIY Liquid Patina” it’s thinner and it works amazingly! I hope that helps.❤🫶🏼
Hi, I did a transfer on dresser but took off a flower with blow dryer and rubbed it off but it left drawer a different shade, it’s darker. 22:16 Do you know how to fix it. You sound experienced. 22:32
On the cannisters, just turn them around and stamp the other side or paint over it and stamp again until you are pleased since they are for you! That's what I would do... Haha! I think they look beautiful regardless though ❤ all of your projects are amazing. I look forward to seeing what you do every single week!
Love how you make us a part of your projects, “You will love this with ……… and in-depth instructions & sharing your experience, which you can’t buy..” Your transfer training is awesome.”❤ inspired to try this new craft.
First time I have watched your channel and I really enjoyed watching. The make overs were very good suggestions. Loved that your animals were included in the video.
I’ve recently bought a few older toolboxes at auctions for a couple dollars, so now I might try one of your project styles. So pretty. I really enjoyed the whole video. The birds, the dogs, florals. All so good. 💜
I really like that you stapeled the fabric onto the hoop. I have a couple of these that are coming apart. As soon as i get my things out of storage im going to find then and either stapel or glue them back together. They are my color in my bedroom. I also have a pic that has those colors that needs reframing. Ive learned so much in the last year after finding youtube and pintrest. I just saw another crafter run a gathering stitch around the fabric back of the hoop before cutting the excess off. That would also hold it in. I love the canisters. They turned out great !! The bench is so different you wouldn't even think it was the same bench. Love the fabric you chose for the top pad. Its perfect !!!! I love the bread box. That shade of green is awesome. It's probably going to be my favorite I love those transfers. They are gorgeous !!!! Live the chair. White watch is beautiful I love the colors of your kitten! What breed is he ? So many projects, so many beautiful pieces. I love the tool box. It's so stunning that it's a favorite too !!
Susie thank you so much for this fantastic and informative video ! I just have so much to express that I just can't!! Just left goodwill with a silver plated tray with some lovely handles and trim, I'm going to try what you did, clean it and transfer it! My husband thinks I talk too much, what do you think 😂 want to go through my stash and have a ball😍
Great video! Loved the blue on the little rocker. The table and chairs turned out beautiful!! The lamp turned out absolutely gorgeous! I did really like all of the diys.
Not sure if you said this already, but it helps A LOT if you put a hard book or something under fabric when you add a transfer. That project was very beautiful too ❤
Wow! I’m loving them all! So impressed with the lampshade. I have a weird shaped one and am going to try this technique. Sooo many awesome ideas! Really love them all! Perfect save on that table top!
Susie, I'm so glad UA-cam brought you to my attention! I loved watching you while I worked on my own upscales! I got real inspiration from your work. I've just discovered IOD and diy paints. I subscribed in the first 20 minutes!😊❤
Thank you! So nice to see videos I had not discovered yet. Really like your practical approach! I look forward to your videos! Loyal viewer and customer Pat from Wisconsin,
Can't tell you how much I enjoyed your video! I'm walking out of goodwill with a large silver tray and I have the exact same traspher!! You gave me so many ideas for my rolling pin stash!! Thank you so much Susie🩷
I have used their transfers a lot. They are so much fun. Thanks for the Inlays tips. Depending on where your booth is and the market I would put that rooster out there for $30. But you can always mark it up then mark it down if it doesn’t sell as quickly as you want.
Wow I work nights and when I have a night off I like to binge watch Netflix series or a good Movie you have become my biggest addiction loving all of your videos and so grateful to you for sharing ❤ Rainey from uk
