LYRICS
Oh Harley darling
You took my love
Took him down the lonely road
To the stars above
Oh Harley darling
You took my friend
You took everything
And now I’m alone again
Harley won’t you take me back to Hollywood
Let me see him one more time
I’d hold him like I could
All night
So tight
Oh Harley darling
The love of everyone
Roaring noise down the highway in the sun
Oh Harley darling
You done me wrong
Now I’m all alone to sing this lonely song
Ride away
On your Harley darling
You took my love
Took him down the lonely road
To the stars above
Oh Harley darling
You took my friend
You took everything
And now I’m alone again

She can be so sweet and badass at the same album.
In a broad sense this album reminds me of Taylor Swift's 'reputation.' They both start so big and badass and exactly what you were expecting, and then evolve into an entirely different, surprising feeling by the end that's more grounded and emotional. Both albums are incredible journeys even though they're in two entirely different genres talking about two very different experiences. I'd love for someone to do an in depth compare/contrast video essay about these two projects.
@@Gaywatch and they are both taylors
This album is messing with my emotions so bad. I remember being a depressed anxious teen and listening to her songs feeling the rage and rebellious emotions. Now I'm 24 and feeling like I've grown up with her music and this hits home so bad. The old school rock vibes are everything here. It makes me so happy that beautiful music like this is still out there.
I found TPR randomly in my sisters music folder when i was 9. She had like thousnds of a songs there and my ears attached to Make me wanna die. From this time i can't stop listening to them songs, covers and it's all with me for a long time. Now I'm 25 and im proud of that i was growing up with them.
I am 24 too and I grew up with her too. I felt heartbroken and lost as a teen and now I feel grown up and happier, and her music has grown up just the same
Perfect way of putting it. I'm turning 22 and this band has been my favorite band for years and will always be. So many memories and feelings :')
It’s because you’re attracted to music which expresses negative emotions, and gives off negative energy. For me I discovered Taylor’s music at the end of 2020 with her new music video ‘25’, and for my fascination for rock music genre, Taylor puts so much personality, character, and self expression to her music which is the reasons why Taylor’s music attracts me.
And I’m with you I use to be fine when I was a teen until my adulthood, and feel more self aware, and understand myself when I am alone listening to rock, and spiritual music.
By the way, you’re not alone there’s other people which went through depression, and anxiety from their teens, and adulthood, or maybe their childhood.
The kind of music that i would put on the playlist to hear traveling on the road.
Sad covid had to kill that for us
Cause yeah!
It's so good
They are so good.
Such hippies.
I love them.
And while i paint all day.
And I do.
Ain't it good?!
@@13gudadod not true people do still go out and Travel you just don't do it so don't complain
one of the most emotional songs on the album
That and think rock and roll heaven
I can feel her emotion in every track!
I can imagine the feeling you.have...i feel.lost as well many for the same reason..I pray for you and you're ❤️ heart love.im still searching after 30 yrs.ypu never stop loving.
Agreed.... So beautiful.
this whole album is rock and roll heaven
For me it's best of them albums.
Pop RNR
this album proves rock and roll still exists
All I can say is WOW! Excellent album 👍
Definitely 🖤
Very rare thing when an album comes along and there are no fillers. The whole album is incredible.
I agree. Another virtually perfect CD with no fillers is "Monster" by the band Stitched Up Heart. Another band that somehow consistently achieves this on every one of their CDs (accomplishing the seemingly impossible, pretty much) is Skarlett Riot.
This is a good group, and despite all the success they've had, it seems with this album they've come into their own.
Perhaps because of their success they feel they can broaden out.
You could probably say the same for their previous two albums as well.
@@brentstewart1764 Also listen to Edge Of Paradise there's more vocalization effects but she's awesome her voice is so powerful and the music quality has become amazing the past couple of years.
I’d have to disagree. The Wall, Turning Gold and Rock & Roll Heaven are trash
You can feel she really tried to hold her tears for this recording session.
“Oh Harley darling, you took my friend...” So sad 😢 I love Taylor and TPR so much. I’m glad that she was able to take the most painful time in her life, the deaths of Kato and Chris Cornell, and turn in into this beautiful album. She’s truly a Rock and Roll queen! ❤️
The fact that this is about Kato is just so sad and sweet 🖤
Can you explain it to me? :)
@@ozzygaming96 her long time friend and former producer kato died last year in a motorcycle crash involving a harley davidson ( a motorcycle brand). This song is about this accident. Taylor suffered from heavy depression and substance abuse after his death
The footsteps in the begining of the first song of the album, death by Rock and roll, is also his footsteps.
@@criwall I know,very wholesome.
@@brenda-leekorf29 wow I did not know that
this is unexpected, but as always incomparable
I love how they even added in the motor cycle sounds. Absolute chills- Kato is so proud ❤️❤️
Can you tell me who is kato?
@@ninamarai2717 её продюссер, друг и наставник погибший в автокатастрофе на мотоцикле
The bookending of the album with the very first thing we hear in Death by Rock and Roll is Katos footsteps and ending it with this somber tribute to him is so beautiful. Not gonna lie, there might have been tears.
I lost my husband to a mc accident 6 years ago ! That damn harley took everything from me ! But inturn gave me everything Im happy to have now . I sure miss you Kenny Igo ! Ride on.
Such a wonderful, haunting, depressing, sad song. Love it. And Taylor’s voice is one of the best in modern rock, period.
I don't think I 've heard TPR play such a hopeful melody before... But I gotta say it fits them well, what a vibe
This song will be the background to my sunset drives.
I was thinking the exact same thing!
Same lol
Whoa!!! I wasn't expecting this. It sounds like a country song I've heard before and a classic country artist I've heard before. Very Nice,it has a good beat, feel, and hook.I was dancing
It makes me think of Linda Ronstadt crossed with David Allan Coe.
I thought the same thing.
I feel 2 important people with this song for Taylor Momson
She really put the feel with her voice
The instrumentals take me back to an old country blues that get you right in the heart.
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏super song
The album's a lot more varied and textured than I expected, and it's giving me a lot more appreciation for the band and the collection of influences they have.
This song is so beautiful. RIP Kato. 🖤
I can't listen now (after rock and roll heaven) because it's too much. Emotions. Feelings. I'm literally crying. This album is so fucking beautiful.
One of the finest album closers of all time. Such a heartbreaking yet uplifting-sounding song at the same time. What a truly beautiful song to end a magnificent album on! #HarleyDarling
I thought "25" would be the pinnacle for the album, but this is amazing. Taylor knocked it out of the park 🤘
The whole album is phenomenal & what a way to cap it off. Sounds like Lenny Kravitz 'Can't Get You Off My Mind', the little guitar licks are identical. Ride away!
Anyone else mesmerized by how peaceful the blowing leaves is?
I'm not taking anything away from the rest of the songs, but this one and 25 are simply fantastic, stunning, amazing, pick a word.
I’d like to add powerful to that list!
I'm gonna guess that Witches Burn is about how no matter what she did or how she acted, she got "burned" regardless, so she eventually decided to say "fuck it" and do what she decided to do regardless of the repercussions.
the harmonic in the beggining of the music it´s like a calling... damn i felt it every time...
Reminds me of The Rolling Stone's Dead Flowers. I grew up on the Beatles, the Stones and later Zeppelin. This group is starting to reach that level of songwriting
First time gone through the whole album.
Words are not enough to describe how breathtaking this experience was.
Fun fact, I needed only one song to embrace, adapt and overcome those long years of depression and anxiety.
Witches Burn :]
If I didn't know who it was I'd think this came from The Fleetwood Mac era.
They're simply magical/amazing.
I'm not crying, you're crying😭💔
Not just crying.... Ugly crying! 😭😭
I heard this for the first time when I was at work and had to shut the door to my office before my employees saw me getting all emotional lol.
This reminds me alot of waiting for a friend in sound and texture.
i wasnt planning on crying when i played a record called Death by Rock and Roll. i feel cheated
yes, this should be renamed to "Crying from Rock and Roll".
best country song i have heard in a long time
This would have to be my favorite off the album
For Kato..... RIP.

Well, that's the album of the year)
Old school rock ,reminds me the good old days ,I miss feeling the happy times. Growing up from high school and college help me though the hard times I go though alone .but I keep going and we all a warrior.
Kato is proud, I have no doubts about that❤️
Have to confess to falling a bit in love with Taylor, this album, the genre changing, lyrically beautiful songs - everything gorgeous - please come to UK as soon as you can x
This is probably my favorite song from the album. So easy on the ears
This is my favorite song from the entire album
This album is one of the best I've ever heared.
Best greetings from Germany
I wanna cry... This band, this album and this girl are not from this world 💕 Their talent are 😍😍😍😍😍😍
You can feel every lyric in this song beautiful. loss is probly the hardest thing anyone has to deal with in life but having a way to express how you feel about it can save not only you but everyone who can relate to that feeling and that experience music is powerful I'm glad it saved Taylor
I love this so much it reminds me of the music my dad and I listen to together
A great song. The entire album is top notch.
I will never look at this motorcycle the same
Listened to this three times on the way home yesterday. Love it.
I saw them live in Milan 15 11 22 and they're amazing! Her voice is so powerful but angelic.. A night that changed my life..

Ride on Kato, ride on
Shared with all my Harley riding friends
I haven't listened yet but I know the song is perfect
Don't comment that in every new song of them you can have your comment deleted due to spam if I'm not wrong
That's an absolute modern day evergreen.
EXCELENTE ALBUM SHOW!!!👏👏👏

It's called Route 66
@@lwiencek4323 sorry I'm french I just thought that we had to translate "route" in "road" lol

That's one of my dreams
If Sheryl Crow did Whisky in the Jar.
You are spot on.
Wow accurate
Sorry...not hearing it as a musician.
Most of the album sounds like a Sheryl Crow album. Not a good thing.
Sheryl is what she is and she is great, but that's Sheryl.
Kato's producing and influence is missed so badly on this album it isn't even funny. This album is Taylor 100% running things and working with a absolutely horrible producer. If you wanted The Pretty Reckless to turn into a commercial pop rock band then you got your wish.
Great song for anyone who has lost a friend to the road! Fast cars fast women & I wouldn't change a thing! Go faster maybe lol
This is my favourite version of whiskey in the jar.
Mush-a ring dumb-a do dumb-a da
Fully in love with this one
Best song on the record.
And now I'm crying... 😭❤️
Love from JAPAN!
I swear i've DMed Taylor's insta before the song be made and told i always dreamed about riding a Harley Davidson with her, she probably hasn't even viewed it but, that song make me so satisfied....
Singing Country now...and doing it so well!
Amazing artistry as always. Another favorite.
RIP Kato ❤️
If streaming never existed I believe this song could be a hit. I love this song
why if streaming never existed?
@@videowatcher7565 because you would have to listen to the radio or buy the single/album if you wanted the song. Streaming does not do bands justice, they only get 50 cents per stream, something like that.
@@mrex3553 Screw the radio.
Her voice is just... wow!
Minha música favorita do álbum. O trabalho da banda é impecável, olha isso!🖤
I suppose 25 or Death By Rock N Roll seem like the defining, standout tracks of this album. I wish I could say Rock N Roll Happened really moves me because it seems autobiographical for Momsem but the track just doesn't go that extra mile lyrically. I suppose Harley Darling most people would say may say is a typical closing rock album old school classic rock ballad. But it's one of the rare songs on this album which lends itself to a bit of mystery. Harley you took my love, is Harley a nickname, symbolic of not necessarily a person or a motorcycle brand but something else Momsem has the talent, producers and skill when it comes to the actual music. She defenitely has shown alot of growth since the group first started. I think that even though the record label maybe to scared let the lyrics have a little more depth that kind of extra bite can make this band stand out more in a time of pop rock, emo, hip hop domination. In actuality I notice the older albums songs seem to have more memorable lyrics then this one. Light Me Up, Blame Your Life On Me, Sweet Things, come to mind as having lyrics which you remember as well as music for their obvious depictions of sexuality and teenage angst as well as depression. I think also maybe Momsem should dona side album with Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil. They seem to gel together sonically and I think Taylor could possibly craft some somewhat unique sounding stuff ala Soundgarden and Audioslave. As much as I was a fan of Chris I wouldn't mind all of SG's members forming a new band with Momsem. Maybe with a different name. Maybe something faster and louder, even more mature sounding. I think old school rock fans would gravitate towards a record like that . Taylor has proven her fandom and respect of Chris and a project like that could be the ultimate love letter to Soundgarden fans. Plus introduce Momsem to an older rock fanbase who probably think she's some young kid trying to a Joan Jett for the 21st century or something.
I can hear the singer songwriter 70s vibe on this one, Jackson Browne fans would dig this.
Loved this! Pretty melody.
MY FAV OMG
Another amazing song...a really sweet tribute!
what a voice and so knocked me around!
I can't stop listening to this song I love love love it and I can listen to Taylor sing forever and never get tired of it 😊
