2:10 As a guitarist myself, allow me for some input. Your solo suggestion of looping and merging Ideas can work really well. It is said that Jimmy Page wrote the Stairway to Heaven's solo like that. Doubling and panning is great for stereo effect but doublingin general (ideally with a slight different sound, like different guitar, amp, eq etc) can help thicken your sound. Good video. But if you can use a real guitar, use a real guitar. Strung instruments are the hardest to convincingly emulate with plug-ins. So only use it if there are no other alternatives.
You mean "plucked" string instruments. Bowed string instruments have been emulated well for a long time, and the piano is literally a hammered string instrument. Also, emulation of fingered bass guitar is convincing enough for many producers to use.
@@fujinshu The reason why bass is more accepted to use usually is because a ton of bands used to use keyboards with a bass sound, which can be replicated perfectly on fl studio.
I love to use 2 tracks panned 60/60 at the same volume, and then 2 more panned all the way left and right at a lower volume than the first two. Also reverb is the key to making your guitar sound big.
another good thing is to not only strum the notes from bottom to top but also from top to bottom to simulate the downwards and upwards strumming on a guitar
With guitar recording, there's something called double tracking which is similar but different to that panning thing. Essentially you record a performance twice, and it helps to create a more fuller sound because of the natural inconsistencies when recording something twice (try to get as close to the original recording as possible).... it's usually used in metal and rock, when doing rhythm guitar.

Dsk dynamic guitars vsti sounds better than some soundfonts and it's free (though I usually use soundfonts from musical artifacts for pianos and strings)

Good solid tips glad to see I am on track except for adding my own guitar parts, not everyone was meant to be a showman performer but I can play a mean-sounding guitar after I come up with a part, DAWs make things much more productive to creativity it's no wonder so many are giving it a go and they should music is good for the soul, and sometimes wallet. David Gilmour always pieced together his solos from the best bits using tape imagine if they had DAWs back then!
