I'm happy that the powers that be were willing to revisit your case and give you a positive decision. I'm also happy that you were able to take advantage of a very tight window that you are probably not going to fit through anymore since your additions! 😂 I had to fight US insurance for some of my affirming care -- specifically aspects of my FFS surgery -- and went through three separate appeals that unfortunately went nowhere in 2022... but when my surgeon resubmitted my exact same request to my insurance company for surgery in 2023, they accepted without reservation. That was a wild roller-coaster of emotions which I'm sure you can relate to. Re: "if your boobs grow 'enough' then you won't get surgery", many of us especially older transitioners have had a lot of growth in the not-boob area of the chest and shoulder region because of what testosterone does to bones and muscle. So even if your breasts do end up growing "some", it might still look less that suitable because of the surrounding landscape too. I am of the well-considered opinion that this version of gender-affirming care should be available to all trans women much like double mastectomy should be available to all trans men who choose it, especially because there isn't much else that can be done with a broad barrel chest or broad shoulders. May your recovery be quick! I had my BA done in mid-January 2022, around the time that the delta COVID variant was really exploding onto the scene and I wasn't sure if I would even get in the door to get my surgery done. And then twenty-three days later, on my birthday no less, I was right back in the hospital for a very unexpected gallbladder removal. So I have a far different personal experience of "recovery" from this surgery...

My goodness, that sounds exhausting 😞
we are try in Australia to add it to our healthcare but at the moment we still have to pay
