I'm having lessons now at a mere 62 years young. Getting into the right lane at roundabouts is an area that I need to work on, and you're videos are coming in very handy between my lessons. My test isn't until October unless I can get a cancellation so plenty of time to practice. Keep up the good work, you are a big help.
I found the app 'driving test now' helpful, it rebooked me a couple of months earlier and also let me keep searching for new dates if not happy with the one booked. I'm sure you'll do awesome, passed 3 weeks ago myself and it's a game changer!
Good for you! I got my license at 32 and let me tell you, it was a strange experience sitting in a classroom with a bunch of kids barely more than half my age. I bet they all thought I was an old fart. But I did it, and I've been happily driving for years now.
I passed my test in 2017 and have hardly driven since. The reason is that I found I was a very nervous driver. It was probably down to a lack of experience, and confidence. I also had one or two minor incidents which didn't help and put me off driving. It's frustrating because I want to be able to drive and I know there is a good driver within me, otherwise, I wouldn't have passed my test. I want to get back on the road and build my confidence up which is partly why I'm watching these videos. I hope I can get back behind the wheel soon but will probably need some refresher lessons now.

Hi Richard, I wanted to say a huge thank you for all the time and work you put into your videos! After 14 months of lessons, one failed test and having to change instructors twice, I passed last week with two minors! I’m over the moon! Your videos made a HUGE difference in helping me feel prepared and calm during the test! This video (and all your other ones!) is going to be super useful for when I start driving on my own too. Thank you again!! 😊
THANK YOU!! At 7 minutes in. I have done this for years and you do the same. Namely, when in traffic and there are cars waiting to leave a junction from the left, let one in, go forward then the next driver lets one in. I rarely see this happen these days. It does ease stress and stops drivers 'bullying' their way in because no one will let them in. It was commonplace years ago, but not these days.
It's so helpful to hear how an experienced driver thinks on the road. I have a fear of joining dual carriageways, probably because my driving instructor shouts at me every time!
I just got my driving license. I want to say thank you so much. Your videos really helped me in achieving this goal even if I am not based in the UK, in my country we use the same UK rules. I'll continue watching your driving videos. Thank you so much again

you don't know how much you help, I have an EU license, I didn't drive for the last 3 years. I don't have anyone to show me or help me to drive in the UK. I asked for 3-4 lessons in driving schools, but they didn't have time... Only one told me yes, but he tried to persuade me that I will need at least 10 lessons, he just wanted to take money from me... I was driving for 15 years, it is just a matter of confidence and getting used to the other side, but it is also a matter of safety. I started this week carefully to do my first 'steps', I am watching your videos, from theory to practical advice. thank you, thank you, thank you
Hey! Just wanted to comment that i discovered your channel about a week ago and must've watched upwards of 30 videos by now. I'm around 16 hours into my lessons, my control of the car is pretty decent, though I deal with extreme anxiety in day to day life which carries over into driving, so my main drawbacks are observing, confidence, judging etc. Videos like this help a ton for people like me, it just helps show that driving isn't always some scary thing that'll leave you mentally exhausted at the end of it, and that if you can manage to be chilled out about it, it makes all those things i struggle with a lot easier to manage while driving. Thanks so much!
Just passed my test 1st time this morning. I would watch your videos everytime before and in between my lessons as they were so helpful. Thank you, really appreciate what you're doing!
Passed my test 2 weeks ago but still found this really useful! 👍 I’m still getting used to driving by myself. I tend to overthink a lot, but I guess it’ll just come with experience.
I passed my test TODAY! (literally 2 hours ago!) It was in a different town to the one that I'd been practising in for the last few months with my instructor, so needed some courage the night before the test (I'd done a few laps around the town over the last few weeks as it became clear I wasn't going to find a cancellation in time in my own town), your video couldn't have come at a better time! I've been watching your videos for the last few days, and the fact that you uploaded this last night was such a huge help; attitude and nerves was my biggest concern gooing into it, but seeing you stay calm helped me to get into the mindset - ended up having a nice conversation with my examiner the whole journey, just had to break the ice with a joke or two first! Thank you for your brilliant videos, and thank you for putting them onto a free streaming service, you are helping hundreds of thousands of learner drivers get ready for the road. I'll continue to watch your videos as you never stop learning things as a driver!
Great video. Doing my first motorway drive on Sunday and then a super long journey in Nov. Was dreading it. But after watching u, I feel a lot happier now... thx 4 all your content 🙏
I have my rest tomorrow morning in CHELMSFORD where I have only been to a few times in my life (no tests in my area) kinda crazy coincidence I'd come across this video now, especially as I'm nervous af 😅
Gutted that i didn't know about your channel while i was taking driving lessons, at the same time i'm glad that i learned on my own terms and now use this channel to perfect my driving intuition.
Hey Richard just wanna say a massive thank you to you!!! I passed my test 5th attempt. I have been watching your channel since my first lesson. This is really helpful and it keeps me away from all the irrelevant thoughts as an overthinker!!
I've been following you since I want to drive for the first time, and today is the day I drove for the first time and coincidentally you uploaded the same issue I'm having, thank you so much..
i have my test next week monday. i am so nervouse but your vid has reassured me. thank you so much for making these videos they are really helpful, your hard work is appreciated
Dude what even is this timing!? I swear I sent you a telepathic spark or something. I have a resit tomorrow and I've failed four times now because of nerve-induced serious faults and have watched every single one of your playlists over the last few months (and I mean every single one), hoping for something which will help. A lot of it did, but imagine my delight at seeing this appear. If I pass, it'll be partly thanks to you Richard. And maybe even thanks to this video specifically. PS - that van driver at 10:45 is the reason mandatory resits should be a thing every 10 years.
@@ConquerDriving I passed but with 13 faults. Most of them to do with junction speed. My father sat in and disagreed with the examiner on this, so it could be that my Auto would over-rev near junctions, giving the impression of speed? Not sure, but either way can't wait to continue learning and watching your videos. THANK YOU!!! I will be recommending you to everyone.
Your videos have been so helpful to me recently, but this one in particular is fantastic. I've just started driving again after about 10 years of not driving at all (due to moving to the city and not really needing a car). I always used to be a confident, relaxed driver, but now I'm very anxious, particularly when driving somewhere I don't know and where there are large, multi-lane roundabouts. Just seeing how relaxed you are, talking things through logically, and accepting that it's normal to make mistakes, is so incredibly reassuring. Thank you!
After passing my test yesterday I wanted to thank you for all your videos. They are so clear, good and informative. A great companion to learning to drive IRL and really improved my understanding and confidence between lessons. Cheers and carry on the good work. J 👍
I passed few hours ago! I binge watched your videos for a few weeks and passed today with 3 minors! Thank you so much for your content, helped me a lot!
Wow, i thought this is going to be a boring vid but to my surprise it was worth the watch. Thanks for sharing. Im a new driver and thru this vid. I realize, there will always be rude drivers whichever part of the world you are or at least drivers who forgot to signal their intent. And its not worth immitating their driving style. Your driving actually inspired me to become more a courteous driver while staying calm. Cheers!
So happy to see so many views - good to know you are rewarded for this hard work, it's been incredibly useful to watch your videos and this one is unexpectedly very helpful too!
One thing I find quite hard to do is driving and talking, I need total concentration specially driving in unfamiliar areas , you are doing very good 👍🏻
Still watching these videos since my test was delayed for after my baby's due date but this video i know i need to watch and save. My main issue. My fave series on this in my playlist is the anxiety video series.
Passed my Test in first attempt with 1 minor. Huge thanks to you for making these awesome videos which have helped me very much. Watched this particular video before the test today. Thank you once again and please keep helping learning drivers.
Officially part of the passed but still watch group! Passed yesterday with no minors - I've watched all of your videos for months and it's been incredibly helpful. Thank you!
This is really helpful, I'm a terrible overthinker and get so stressed on the road. Fear of visiting new places as i don't know the roads. Satnav helps but still scary stuff.
Thank you Richard for all the amazing videos you publish. This video was right in time for my driving test. I just passed couple of hours ago on my first attempt with 3 minors. I have been an avid watcher of your videos for the last year and learned a lot. I will keep watching still for all the amazing useful information you present in your videos. I just can't thank you enough. Keep up the good work mate! Cheers!
Thank you very much for this video, it is very useful for me as I'm currently learning to drive and always nervous about every driving session. To hear your comments along the way is priceless! I definitely need more videos like that.
Reason behind UK driving channels on UA-cam are more famous than US channels, we Indians also drive on left 🤣🤣🤣, and UA-cam is banned in China. But this channel is very helpful to me especially this video, yes as a new learner with less than 6 months of driving experience I understood how important it is to maintain the patience while driving.

That was very good. Last visit home was 2010 very familiar with the A12 between Kelvedon and Colchester. . .. so much has changed in the fifty years since I learned to drive and passed my test in Colchester.
Really helpful video. I recently passed just before Christmas but I’m having some issues with confidence when driving in places I don’t know, I seem to find myself driving in the dark more often than not with the time of year which isn’t helping! It always feels a lot more enjoyable when I’m relaxed. I have found it quite helpful to have a quick scan of the route on Google maps to scout out any big roundabouts and work out what lane I need to be in, probably a bit OTT but I feel more relaxed when I know what to expect! Keep up the great content. 🙌🏻
Thanks, really useful. Also a great affirmation tool. I had an ex-driving instructor who got angry at other drivers mistakes - not useful at all for nervous drivers

Richard! I'd like to thank you for all of your videos my man, passed 1st time today and I don't think I would've been as lucky if I hadn't watched all of your videos. Thanks for all that you've been doing and I'll be recommending you to everyone I know. Cheers! 👍🚘
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
you don't know how much you help, I have an EU license, I didn't drive for the last 3 years. I started this week carefully to do my first 'steps', I am watching your videos, from theory to practical advice. thank you, thank you, thank you
Thank you for watching!
Passed my driver's test last week here in Sweden. Finally done, your videos been been a huge help. Thank you Richard!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Richard thank you so much. I passed in December and am still anxious when driving but watching your videos has definitely helped build my confidence 🙂
Passed my test second time today with 5 minors. Thanks so much Richard for all of the top quality content, keep it up 👍
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Wow, you passed twice just to make sure😊
Just passed my driving test today- thank you for all of your videos it helped me a lot!
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Just passed my test 1st time this morning. I would watch your videos everytime before and in between my lessons as they were so helpful. Thank you, really appreciate what you're doing!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Very nice driving, and education verry important . Such a pleasure watching ur videos ,you are righ, 56 are limited all the european trucks .
I passed my driving test 11 months ago and have only just got a car; so your videos are really helpful for feeling comfortable driving again.
Passed my test 2 weeks ago but still found this really useful! 👍 I’m still getting used to driving by myself. I tend to overthink a lot, but I guess it’ll just come with experience.
One thing I took away from this video is that driving must be mentally exhausting at times
Passed my test a month ago and haven’t driven for a while and just got my first car this video is very refreshing!!
I passed my test today with only two minors. Thank you for uploading all the useful videos!!!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Great video. Doing my first motorway drive on Sunday and then a super long journey in Nov. Was dreading it. But after watching u, I feel a lot happier now... thx 4 all your content 🙏
Thank you! wish to see more commentary drive video and mock tests🙂
As a new driver your videos are super helpful to continue learning after getting my license, thanks a bunch
I said if i will passed i will be back and comment here!
I passed my driving license today here in Bahrain! Thank you so much for your videos! 🎉
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
i have my test next week monday. i am so nervouse but your vid has reassured me. thank you so much for making these videos they are really helpful, your hard work is appreciated
Good luck next week!
@@ConquerDriving thank you!! i'll be needing it
Hope you passed today! 🙏
I have my 4th test tomorrow. I am doing everything I can to keep myself calm and not overthink it or think about failure. This is good.
I'm sure it's coincidence. It's really great to hear the videos are helping though. Thank you for watching!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Just passed my driving test today for the first time, thanks to your videos.
Excellent! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
I passed few hours ago! I binge watched your videos for a few weeks and passed today with 3 minors! Thank you so much for your content, helped me a lot!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Cheers!
That's really great to hear. Thank you for watching.
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks to your videos, I passed my test last week on my first trial. Thank you so much.
Fantastic work, love the detail you went into about how to approach every aspect of the road calmly.
Thank you!
That's fantastic to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Your channel is by far the most helpful driving channel I've ever come across on this app, can't thank you enough for your content ✨
This is really helpful, I'm a terrible overthinker and get so stressed on the road. Fear of visiting new places as i don't know the roads. Satnav helps but still scary stuff.
Such a lovely person and of course an instructor. Bless you.
"Thinking in this world actually goes a long way" well said Richard 👏
More of this please. I would watch endless videos of POV driving with commentary
i am just learning to drive now thank you for sharing this video..
Cheers!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Thank you very much for this video, it is very useful for me as I'm currently learning to drive and always nervous about every driving session. To hear your comments along the way is priceless! I definitely need more videos like that.
Watching this before my test tomorrow. You made me realise all I need is to be calm and prepared
I hope it went well!
You are wonderful. Your instructions are clear and fair. You are non judgemental. Thank you.
Check out the sights while listening to safe driving instructions. Thanks for showing me around.
Passed my test 1st time yesterday with 6 minors was such a journey but I’m glad that I got so much more freedom thanks to your videos
That's great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Thanks alot watched your videos no instructor whatsoever 😂did commentary driving 😀 n passed yesterday with only 3minors.my examiner was GOD sent
I passed in 1987 pre theory test...it does seem different but also similar to what I did
Reason behind UK driving channels on UA-cam are more famous than US channels, we Indians also drive on left 🤣🤣🤣, and UA-cam is banned in China. But this channel is very helpful to me especially this video, yes as a new learner with less than 6 months of driving experience I understood how important it is to maintain the patience while driving.
Clearly it's me. I was already here watching. I literally saw it being updated 😂
Thank you so much for all your videos, it helps me a lot.had my test earlier and i passed with 3 minors. God bless and keep inspiring people!
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
You’re a legend! Just passed my test after all your videos! Failed four times without using your videos then passed once I’d started using you! Thank you 😁
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
This video is one of your many that helped me to pass my driving test today... so thank you!
That's really great to hear! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Really helpful video Richard. Love the constant commentary to know what you are thinking and why you are doing what you are doing. As a learner this is so useful!
I have my test in 2 days. Its not my 1st I suffer really badly with nerves but watching your videos are really helping me to understand what I should be thinking about and where I should be looking etc. Thank you so much for making these videos
this is so awesome :) im almost done with my drivers lessons and still struggle with these things because I get nervous with what to do next, this helped a lot!
Thank you Richard i really needed this video, i am a new learner and i have just done my 4th lesson today. Your videos help tremendously so Thank You :):)
Passed my test first time today, with 6 minors - all of which were because of nerves, little things I usually don't do. Just wanted to say that your videos have helped me prepare for it, so thank you!
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Amazing Video Like Always, Id Love To See More Mock Tests On Your Channel. Something About The Simplicity In Which You Describe Things; Really Clicks For Me🙂
I love the way you driiiiiiive, Looooove the way you drive!
That was very good. Last visit home was 2010 very familiar with the A12 between Kelvedon and Colchester. . .. so much has changed in the fifty years since I learned to drive and passed my test in Colchester.
I can watch this type of videos for hours from you Richard sir
Really helpful video. I recently passed just before Christmas but I’m having some issues with confidence when driving in places I don’t know, I seem to find myself driving in the dark more often than not with the time of year which isn’t helping! It always feels a lot more enjoyable when I’m relaxed. I have found it quite helpful to have a quick scan of the route on Google maps to scout out any big roundabouts and work out what lane I need to be in, probably a bit OTT but I feel more relaxed when I know what to expect! Keep up the great content. 🙌🏻
There's nothing wrong with planning your route.
Thanks, really useful. Also a great affirmation tool. I had an ex-driving instructor who got angry at other drivers mistakes - not useful at all for nervous drivers
I passed my driving test 1st time today, watching your videos has really helped.
That's fantastic news! Thank you for watching and congratulations on passing!
Wonderful commentary! From a fellow ADI, thank you for all the common sense content you produce! I know exactly the pupil I'm going to forward this video to! 👍
I’ve got my test this Thursday all your videos are a amazing help. I have a lot of confidence but I want to boost it and I’ve done it by watching these videos (only yours). If you want to try a hard ish area to drive try Exeter as there are confusing exits and roundabouts and more.
Thank You CONQUER DRIVING 🚘 because of you I can drive a manual smoothly
Mr Richard
I'm from Malawi 🇲🇼 and i passed my driving test last year with a certain help of your videos. If something is confusing me during lessons I went and check up on your video concerning that part...you really helped me. Thanks!
I needed this so much, every time I get in the car and start it my anxiety instantly increases and I'd rather not be driving with anxiety as I could make a mistake
Thank you for this video
I really like these "just driving videos". What I would mostly appreciate is a full video of managing parked cars and cyclists. The longer, the better. I really struggle with that. That also includes judging where my left hand mirror is - will I fit?
I was feeling quite terribly stressed (reasons totally unrelated to driving), and just watching this video relaxed me. Haha thank you.
