Is there a reason why this gentleman hasn’t won a world driving instructors award yet??? Well maybe there isn’t such an award 🥇 but trust me you win. You’re too good a teacher. In fact you’re the best human being on the planet. I bet I could watch your videos and pass my driving test without having to deal with the typical “thickness of a pound coin instructors. 😀😀
Richard is the best instructor I have seen yet! Explaining each and every detail bit. Getting into learners shoes and explaining our perspective so well and then teaching us. Hands down you are the Best. 🙏
It was schockingly funny how well you portraited the thoughts of a leaner / new driver - I definitely saw myself there lol thank you for explaining so well and helping us all drive better :D
When I started driving like this it made driving so much more relaxing. Sometimes I have to tell myself that I am not holding up traffic by doing this, as there is no where for the persons behind me to go, anyway. Have had a couple knobheads honk at me though.
😂😂😂😂 the way I feel violated watching this video. the inner monologue with the sound effects, the accuracy of all the thoughts, it's like you're pulling them right out of my head....I know 2 things for sure: [1] you've been there and done that. [2] you've come a long way on your journey as a driving instructor. If I hadn't already subscribed, this would have been the video that finally gets me to do so, thumbs up for this great clip.... sensational.
Man! I have seen driving lesson videos from India, Australia, US, The Netherlands, Germany and some others from the UK and I can tell you this for once and for all. You are simply one of the best if not the best! Be very proud of that!
I have an anxiety disorder and your videos are a massive help! I was going to cancel my test but watching your videos have really motivated me to go for the test. Thank you! 🤗
Passed yesterday with 4 minors. Woke up and still feel compelled to watch your informative videos. Had this fresh in my mind when I was out driving on my own for the first time today. Great stuff, thanks for the amazing content you continue to push out for free.
One thing i learned is learning what gear you will need at the junction you are approaching. Some roundabouts let you be in 3rd gear, other that are smaller usually will need gear 2 like doing 90 degree turns. I feel like once you understand what you will be doing, you will learn to prepare for it. So if you know you are turning you will slow to second gear before hand making it easier to drop to first gear if for example a person is crossing. Pre planning is very good skill to have in driving, it is what i feel to be the main skill
Hi Richard! I just passed my exam here in Norway and wanted to thank you. This video was especially helpful for me personally in learning how to keep calm in traffic. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that I am really thankful for the work you put in!
This is what I was looking for roundabout junction brake 2stage and clutch amazing video I will watch 2-3 times to fully understand it and then apply during my lesson tomorrow 😀😇
Your driving lessons are very important for Indian roads, because jam-packed narrow roads requires you to drive perfectly for your own car safety. Thanks a lot Rich.
People may think it's useless but let me make it clear for them. I learned every driving tip from his video's and one of my friends only guided me driving practically for 1 hour for 4 days, and now am a perfect driver!! Many thanks to him!!
Thanks so much for the rationale behind the decisions we are advised to take as learner drivers. It’s all to easy to say “do this” or “don’t do this” but actually validating it with reasons and justification helps so much. James Ps. Awesome shoes!
I passed my test on Thursday in Hither Green with 2 minors!!!!! and I can now say that without your lessons I wouldn't be here with and I REALLY HAVE TO THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. Thanks Richard!!
Richard! Here is my obligatory thank you to you and your videos. I only had 4 lessons so felt a tad unprepared, your videos helped clear up all those little things I needed to know; I passed today with 5 minors! You’ve heard it a thousand times but I’ll tell you again; your videos show the perfect demonstrations, your delivery is spot on and you come across as a really nice guy. So a huge thank you for what you do, please keep at it. I would seriously consider setting up a Patreon or equivalent so people can make a little donation to say thank you to you! I would love to buy a coffee/pint to say thanks 😁
I passed my practical yesterday, and through my lesson you was my second instructor, your teachings are very helpful, because you dive in different aspects of things, and explaining while showing what you talk about, which helped me a lot. Thanks again 🤝🏾💯
This was a great video and very informative. Thanks. Regarding going down the gears one at a time. That is a way my instructor taught me, and once I was more confident I would drive my own car with friends and family. They told me that I was making things more complicated and just to go into 2nd as I slow down instead of down to 4th, then 3rd and into 2nd. When I was back with my instructor I came up to a junction and slowed down, I was in 4th and skipped 3rd straight to 2nd and my instructor yelled at me for it. Saying "I don't know where that's come from but I haven't taught you to do that" and made me feel like I had done something wrong.
I get better every single day. I am building my confidence all the time and come down here to watch any of your videos. I will be booking my practical test soon. Thank you Richard.
I passed my driving test yesterday…your videos have immensely helped me , not just in the practical but also in the theory app as well. I have also recommended your videos and app to my friends. Keep up the excellent work 👍🏻👍🏻
Favourite UA-camr atm, learning currently and you make it seem easy to drive, I’ve been implementing techniques and now I’ve stopped stalling whilst driving and now I haven’t stalled at all in my past few lessons
I'm laughing so much at the scenarios right at the beginning, that's exactly my whole thought process! I passed my test a few days ago and I'm going to watch your videos to keep the whole driving thing fresh in my head before I save up to get my first car :) thanks for the videos!!
omg you literally described my problem!!!! all 3 were spot on for me as a learner driver 😅 thanks so much for this video gonna implement it in my next lesson
Thank you so much, I had my driving test today and I PASSED first time with 5 minors, I can honestly say that without your videos I wouldn't have passed because I was so nervous about it. Keep making these videos cause they really do help a lot.
Thanks a lot for your videos Richard - I've been learning to drive since 2019 but hadn't been able to take my test until yesterday - passed with only 4 minors! Definitely going to keep coming back to hone my skills without the stress of having to pass my test!
You've really helped me learn, I always watch your videos and tips.. which has made driving for me alot easier. I have my practical test Jan 17th 2022 hope I will pass.. I feel more confident after learning from you, so I wanna thanku for that.
Omg!!! I wasn't even dreaming for watching video like this. That's exactly what I need it! I was so confused about if its OK to do that and actually ist the right way for learners. Thank you so much 😀
12:03 Can’t agree more. I’m still a learner and struggle a lot in entering junctions or roundabouts. After watching this video and your videos detailed explaining clutch control and smoothly shifting of gears, I regain my confidence in learning driving. Thank you so much and I can’t appreciate enough that your unreserved sharing your knowledge to us.
You're doing brilliant work Richard! Just wanted to say thank you! Passed my test in the first attempt with 3 minors today. Can't emphasize how helpful your videos have been! Cheers!
Even if your videos are designed for UK learners (because of the driving in left side of the road), they are still very useful for the rest of the world as they address exactly the questions learners have in mind. For instance, i have already my license because of how easy it is to get it in my country but i still watch your videos because there are still many things that are not obvious for me. I tried to watch different channels that drive on the right side but either they omit some useful details that they think are obvious or they are drifting away from the main subject with too much talk.
passed today and alot of its down to you! , your brilliant at what you do and how you explain things in the best way possible, will continue to watch your videos anyway, thank you for your content.
This video highlights the time honoured tradition of ensuring that the driver tracks the speed and gear together all the time... thereby insuring that the car is in the correct gear prior to it being asked to accelerate, (or de- accelerate) which leaves the hands and brain free for dealing with other things. Also by developing the "hand muscle memory" of always pushing the gear lever forward as the car passes through walking pace to standstill will ensure that the moment the vehicle is stationery your hand can be on the handbrake, and you are ready to find the throttle/biting point and ready to go. Even if you get distracted whilst sitting there, the car is in the correct configuration to move off for when you get your act together!!😉👍
I got that from my teacher... He literally said: "Its easier to keep the car moving instead of stopping and then get moving again" and I just picked it up... kinda came naturally
Getting into first gear just before the end of the road has made everything feel smoother. So rather than coming to a complete stop and then clutch down gear one.. I put it into gear one just as im entering the give way line

Just ignore the idiots mate , I have the same problem even though the light literally just turned green 😂
and whenever they see a learner car they feel the need to overtake it even if i’m doing the speed limit and not slowing them down.
@@UsmanKhan-mx9ll yep happened today when I was on the roundabout, didn’t let him through. Don’t let idiots bully you when you’re driving 👍🏻

I'm an older learner and I feel like I'm making up for lost time by watching your videos! So much clarity. Thank you 😊
This is a better to say it if you don't mind. I am a late starter.
Passed today with 4 minors in heavy rain ! Thank you so much for all the videos ! I will keep watching them to become a better driver !
Congratulations on passing!
watching here in hongkong! i love how simple your content is. no music whatsoever. More power

I love watching these after ive passed over a year ago and reminiscing on how i spent all night before my test watching these videos
Just forwarded this to my son, this is what we have been doing but you explain it so nicely.
From your each video we are learning new things. You bring clarity from chaos, this is what I like the most in your videos☺️
this is a really nice analogy for gears - walking,jogging... thank you

Haha, yes, that is a bit unrealistic as most new drivers would grab it hard and force it.
