How do you prepare for an interview? I'd love to hear from you! Are there any specific topics related to interviewing that stress you out? Let me know... I'm looking for more ideas for videos!
suppose you have a filter named "Category" on your dashboard. If you select "Vendor" as a value from the filter, then a bar chart will show up and if you select "Manufacturer", a donut chart will show up in the same placeholder on your dashboard. How can you achieve such a scenario?
I did write this article that talks about that some: www.linkedin.com/pulse/framework-talking-yourself-past-projects-interview-ariansen-mba/ But I plan on making some videos in future that go into more detail and breakdown someone talking about a project.

I normally look for concepts like, what was your last project, my role into it. What are types of filters, different charts use, LOD use, how to improve dashboard performance and few more concepts related to server
Sounds like you've got more experience with the server than me. My clients are usually pretty small so they don't need a lot in that area. So how do you answer "What was your role in your last project?"
@@HowtoGetanAnalyticsJob If you don't mind we can make a video on frequently asked questions on Tableau, I have few more. Hi John, I have learnt tableau public but whenever i go for interview they ask for past project which i dont have. Can you please help me how i can prepare a project ? basically if you can give me some real time exercise would be great help
Hi John, I am kind of new to tableau. Currently, I am learning it and in a few days will start looking for data analytics job. My question is how shall I showcase my past projects and skills in the tableau in an interview as previously I used to be an ERP developer for HR domain with an experience of 4 years. Any help would be really great.
Great question! What you can do is build out a Tableau Public portfolio. Tableau lets everyone use their software for free via Tableau Public and you can even upload your work to their free public server. This is a great way to show your skills. I've even had students who were asked to share a link to their portfolio before they showed up to an interview so their potential manager can see some of the work they know how to do. The first hurdle is finding data to work with. What you could do is build up some sample data sets modeled after your previous work since you already have experience. A second option is to join on of the Tableau groups that focus on data challenges. Makeover Monday is a great group you can join where they teach about data visualization and also work through sample data together: www.makeovermonday.co.uk/ Good luck!
Hi John, I am new to Tableau. I recently completed an online course and not looking for a job as a Tableau Developer. But somehow I am not satisfied with my Tableau Public page and want to improve my profile. Please suggest ways to do that and where can I find practice projects for Tableau to enhance my profile. Thanks

They held on to an access inventory of $250,000 all winter long when sales were $0. So they could have invested that money in something else that winter that would provide a return on that money.

@pankaj same case here. It's difficult to convince the interviewer just with practice on sample datasets.

How did you arrive at the number $250,000 under optimization in the inventory. I did not understand that. Could you explain that?

I think it makes a pretty big difference if you don't have much Tableau experience.
