The finishing on this watch is phenomenal. I have the teal version and the impeccably polished markers and hands, together with the polished top ring of the stepped bezel (which is relatively narrow) create a very attractive level of light play without excessive bling (even with the beautiful“Tiffany” dial). Excellent vintage vibe sport watch with dress capability. Very impressed by an original San Martin!
I had no problem sizing the bracelet with the included screwdriver. In fact I did it along the banks of the Yakima River Canyon in 95° heat! I purchased the blue dial. It is refreshing to look at. The bracelet is well executed. In the old days the fine beads on the Beads of Rice bracelet were just folded over polished metal. Even the Gay Freres! The "rice" links on the San Martin are cast and conform easily to the wrist. The clasp works well for me and seems to have the edges polished or finely rounded a bit. The only gripe I have is the red second hand. Although beautiful it's faint in low-light conditions and dissapears all together in the dark. Definitely the watch to wear when appearing before a house subcommittee or in court.
I can't say that the stepped bezel is a deal breaker for me, but the red seconds hand certainly is. Otherwise a beautiful watch, but I just can't get over the red seconds hand.
I really prefer a date on my watches. If it had the same 6 o’clock date as it’s dive watch cousin, I would have bought this already. I don’t mind the step. Maybe it should have been brushed top, polished middle, brushed case. I really like it though. Thanks for the great review.
That stepped bezel is unusual, but I like it. I wouldn't like the dust and dirt though! It's pretty sad that they include the wrong sized screwdriver! Does this require a 1.5mm instead of the more common 1.6mm?

I think the size is perfect for the style of watch it is. But a bigger size can be nice for those with bigger wrists
