Sankyo Key points

In the practice of Aikido there is the hard form Kihon and the fluid form Ki no nagare, in the hard form the practitioner learns to use all his physical potential which in the case of Sankyo takes all its dimension, indeed in this technique and this since taking the initiative of the movement, Tori must take care to control well and especially to lock his technique well in order not to leave any opening by thus avoiding the counters of Uke, for that he must mobilize all the parts of his body and put them at the service of the Sankyo technique which is not limited to a simple twist of the phalanges
By carefully observing the sequences of the following video, you will notice a first control on the elbow which must be operated at the right distance, neither too short nor too far but also at the right height, the second control must imperatively be done with the bust in a precise shape before moving on to the Sankyo grip and the use of the atemi, the control of the last two phases of this technique is done using your lower limbs which, thanks to the hanmi position and a centering perfect body will allow you to have total control over your partner until his complete submission to the ground
All its key points are very important because without it, your fluid forms or Ki no nagare would contain many openings and this would be contrary to the principles of Aikido in particular and martial arts more generally.
