Lilly, This is the first time I have seen someone use a living electrical tester. :) Looks like your electric fence is effective. Excellent demonstration!
Very nice Lilly! 👍 I bet you could add a small solar panel and a rechargable cell and it would hold out for quite some time, and no dead battery waste. You could tap into the "fence" wires anywhere along the run that's convenient. Awesome project, keep up the great work!
The 'hose' 4:00 is called heat-shrink sleeving (or tubing) in the UK. You can get a version lined with hot melt glue ,which gives a more waterproof and rigid join.
Just braided stripped copper wire will work on slugs , don't need double wire with a battery pack. Strip wire and staple around side of box , the slugs are sensitive enough to feel a current from the wire only.
Very good! I think it would be more durable if you soldered the connections rather than twisting them. Also, bright zinc plated wire would remain conductive for longer than bare copper which will go green.
Really cool idea. Another option is to take egg shells and crush them up and sprinkle them all throughout the garden. Snails and slugs wint enter the garden
Hey Lilly, where do you get your seeds? I usually buy from the local hardware store (USA) but looking to buy online this year, any recommendations? I feel like "Burpee" brand is over priced lately.
I'm interested to see a review later on the long term effectiveness of this and I like seeing your electrical hacks! Maybe try a jet lighter Lilly next time if you're outdoors. It works well on shrink hose as the flame is stronger and less likely to go out when it's windy!
Those slugs are extra food when you quarantine yourself lol, 9 volt batteries do have some jolt to them, remember when you were a kid and sticking your tongue on the pos and neg of the battery lol.
Hannes Camitz haha Yeah I that would eliminate the squatting in relationship to gardening, it’s going to be much more difficult to eliminated it from say a brake job on my car or plumbing under my sink. Yeah thanks for the advice. (Maybe I can put my house on stilts)
Hi lilly .
Thanks for watching, please share this video with your gardening friends if you like it
AND it's the first time I'm seeing electricity bring used on slugs! I'm going to use this systems for my strawberries ❤ thanks for the idea Lilly!

Very clever and no poison to pollute the world. I like it.
batteries and their production is poison
if you had a multi-meter you could test it also, if you didn't have any slugs handy. Thanks for the great video.

That's actually really cool to see the device in action. I was skeptical at first, but this is really cool.
awesome idea Lilly.
Thanks for sharing
Slugs are my bane! They always go after my swiss chard. This is Brilliant. Thanks Lilly. 🐝🐞
Best thing I have seen to stop them, I have used the pan with beer but just makes a mess to clean up and the beer tastes funny. LOL
Very nice and efficient!

Genius. What gage wire do you use and how long does that battery last?

Hi Lilly, do you know how long the 9 volt batteries will last on your electric fence?
Hello Lilly
New to your channel. That's a great tip. I've got my garden started already.
Oh, my gosh. This is great! Any idea I could do something like this for the garden - non raised bed?
You are a genius!!!!
That is a great idea thanks

I have garden ducks to eat bugs, plus you get eggs!
Great! But I think not everybody is able to keep them :(
Lilliy danke für das super video. Wo kann ich diesen dicken Kupferdraht kaufen?
hab ich auf amazon gefunden. lg
Thank you for the tip😁🖑👍
use salt on the top of your raised bed just renew it after each rain
Those slugs are extra food when you quarantine yourself lol, 9 volt batteries do have some jolt to them, remember when you were a kid and sticking your tongue on the pos and neg of the battery lol.
Love it! Ha ha ha! :-D The tubing is called shrink tubing.
I use coffee to get rid of them ☺️
Du bist scho Supa!
danke sepp :) haha
Must be nice to be so young that you can squat there till you finish the job, and not have your knees give you negative feedback.
I'm right there with you on that LOL
Or you could build the grow bed higher. ;)

@@K1rmcc True, at least NOT as cheap. ;)
EDIT: Forgot the NOT part.

If you put some beer in a tuna can in the raised bed, you will have a lot of fish bait.

If they were edible snails you could beef up the current and roast them ready to eat.
Wie du bei 5:10 Die Schnecke da so hinpappst 😅
protect your garden from dog and snail 😁👍
her word hose = heat shrink tubing
hahhah this is awesome
It's verking! Vonderful!
:D mai bronunciation sux
I want da snails
Step on him and finish
lol@testslug
I cannot under stand you are not using leaves for mulch as much bushcrafting and you can bring a garbage home each trip
Battery will die as soon as it rains. The exposed wires will short it when they get wet. Try beertrapps instead.
