DUMB decision to delete this scene. It was perfect. He loses Gwen, but his father is returned to him.
No it wasn't. Like yes, it sucks we missed out on Garfield acting his heart out, but this being wedged immediately after Gwen's funeral, even happening near her grave is so off-tone. Outside of that initial acting, it's just another needless exposition scene to set up sequels (that will now never happen) right as the movie is wrapping up.
@@SteelBallRun1890also if you watched both the first movie and the second you would know Peter’s father died
@@StevenTeemsma1 well I mean the point of this scene is he's alive and faked his death because of grand conspiracy with Oscorp, but again just to drum up sequels.

They could have kept this if they retooled it so that it's not his *actual* father, but something of a mental projection. He's so desperate to find a way out of the grief that he conjures up an imaginary reunion that ends with Peter forgiving himself.

My dad passed in 2020. If he came 4 years later to tell me that he was still alive and he was sorry he left, I’d react the same way Andrew did. Best scene 😢😢😔
And this was a Really good Ending why did they have to cut it out had me Crying for a Minute
Nothing makes me cry, this made me cry
if this scene was in the Final Cut then tasm 3 definitely would've been made & the trilogy would be been complete
I like how as peter stands at gwens grave the seasons start to change. Yeah its obvious he probably left and kept coming back, but it's made to seem like he's so lost. He's just standing there, neglecting everything
The way they should have kept this scene because so many, and I mean literally so many people had an issue with Uncle Ben just not flat out saying "with great power comes great responsibility" in TASM and this would have made the scene in no way home where they all mention the quote 😤
I just figured out that this ties up the lose end of the post credits scene of the first one when the Gentlemen asks Connors if he told peter the truth about his father. This was the truth. That he was alive.
Oh! That’s true!! That line from the first one always seemed weird. It makes complete sense now!!
I just saw this guy who played andrew Garfields dad in jurassic world dominion last night .
theirs no one like Andrew
There's
If Peter’s dad is alive this whole time? Then where is he? I wonder how did he survive that place crash. Good scene
Kinda explained it, he went into hiding, Osborn wanted him dead,
As for surviving the plane crash… idk bro has some of Spider-Man’s powers I guess
He used the parachute@@brayden2834
Dude honestly, we should have gotten TASM 3. Andrew is such an amazing actor and it pains me how they never let him finish his story 😢
honestly on paper this sounds kinda stupid but damn the whole scene feels so good to watch
It is literally only saved, once again, by Andrew Garfield’s incredible acting. Even with him acting his heart out it is stupid and should not exist
They only deleted this because there wasn’t gonna be a third so a cliffhanger wouldn’t make sense
I think it would’ve been sick if it turned out this was actually chameleon disguised as Peter’s dad.
Why there is music from LOTR here ??? Or I'm crazy ?
Edit: I'm not crazy, at 4:00, "A Far Green Country" from The Return Of The King plays ua-cam.com/video/kq_p87-qXeo/v-deo.html

this is what deleted scenes are meant to be
4:41 he said itttttttt
Although this scene doesn't make any sense but imo the actor who played Peter's dad in this would be the perfect uncle ben since he said the full catchphrase at the end which made it so better
My dad passed recently, and this scene makes me tear up, dude. Andrew is such a great actor. This is such a great scene. Idk why they deleted it.
hey dude, just for curiosity i want to know that where are you getting this clips :)
He’s part of the crew. He filmed them on set
Towards the end of this clip, they start playing lord of the rings music from the ending of return of the king! Just thought it was funny, anyone?
I thought I was the only one who caught on
this scene needs to be rewritten at the end of marvels spiderman 3 when norman osborn is dead allowing peter to be reunited with his father
I wish there should have been the amazing spider man part 3
They might make it
@@Tyrelshed123 even if they do with out old man stan lee gone i don't think it'll be good
@Morro12250 They objectively will never make it. The movie was a unarguable flob for obvious reasons.
It’s you son it was… With great freedom comes great responsibility
An excellent scene that definitely should have been kept in the movie, this was so good and Andrew Garfield's performance in this was top notch, he really knocked this one right out of the park in TASM2.
Tears- Tears- Tears were streaming- 😭
One of the best scenes in the series and they cut it out. Still annoys me.
This scene should have been kept.
The decision to delete this scene is fundamentally wrong and made the franchise of movies worse because of it.
One of the hugest parts of the movie was for their to be a side story about peters parents and that’s why they shoved it into the first one at the beginning and during the second one with the coins and the train thing.
And nobody liked that side story because it ultimately ended up to be nothing and just a waste of time for the movie. BUT this scene was literally the wrap up to that story line and would have made the movie better as a result
Apparently, at a test screening, the test audience said they didn't like this scene...
I have no idea what is wrong with people. If implemented right, this scene would've fixed so many issues.
2:24 2:43😢
I feel like this was meant to tie Hydra in eventually but naturally...
Is anyone else hearing the lord of the rings soundtrack in the background
Yeah man!
This scene gave me chills. I immediately thought of how I would react if my mother turned up alive after years.
This scene would have saved the whole movie
I know people are like how did he survive the plane crash but the answer is in the scene. The plane crash was going to be retconned and to be fair other than the scene there’s no proof that his parents did die or were even on that plane that could’ve been just everyone’s perception of the event
This whole scene makes me laugh from the Eric Andre bit they pulled from it. This scene in general though is too ridiculous to take seriously anyways.
They should of made this mysterious work of art
Lmfao this scene is just as ridiculously incompetent as the entire movie was. Can't even hold a steady shot. Literally no reason to make the camera man balance on a basketball while holding spinning plates in one hand and a camera in the other. Per usual, Andrew Garfield's acting is the only thing holding this ripped in half phone book of an attempt at film making.
Why is The Last voyage from lord of the rings music playing in the back ground 😢😢😢😢 it makes me wanna cry 😭
IT'S PERFECT. WHY WHY WHY COULDN'T THEY KEEP IT 8N THE MOVIE😭😭😭
This would’ve made the movie not terrible
i wonder if peter had told his dad what happend to uncle Ben
I think he did in between that gap from embracing the return of Richard to transitioning him and Peter sitting on the bench.
This scene should have been in the film
Hey Andrew Garfield I'm a huge fan of your work I've been watching you in the amazing Spiderman since I was in college and what you did in every scene feels as real as Tobey maguires Spiderman just wanna say good job.
this isn't andrew garfield lol
lol it isnt andrew stupid
What why his acting was so good at this part
why the FUCK did they do this to us it could've been soo amazing if they started the third movie with that
Wish this scene was mentioned in spiderman no way home when tobey and andrew met tom
It's honestly beyond me why they decided to remove such a crucial important scene they highlights Peter's emotional state and what he's going through
Is that "Into the west" for the BGM?
Lord of the rings soundtrack😭
is it just me or do i hear lord of the rings music i swear i diffently hear it tho i do love the music of lotr but how does this fit in spiderman 😂😂 doesnt make sense
What if just what if this scene was meant to set up Spiderman 3 with the sinister six being that his dad was actually the great actor and illusionist Mysterio in disguise
This would have been such an amazing scene to keep in the film.
I don't know who's idea it was to cut it, but they made a terrible decision.
3:39 Your mother died for nothing your girlfriend died for nothing.😢
Man Andrew Garfield is amazing for real
1:52 star wars reference
I have to get the milk Peter
They should've kept this what the hell...
Eh...idk...maybe they thought it was better for Peter to just have him crawl out of the hole to become Spiderman again.
music ?
Granted, this scene doesn’t make a whole lot of sense when you think about it more. But, if this meant getting rid of that awful ending with the Rhino, in favor of some Oscar-worthy acting from Andrew Garfield & Campbell Scott, I would’ve gladly taken it.
Powerful scene should of kept it in 😢
They should have kept this scene
Someone could probably re-edit The Amazing Spider-Man 2 & make it a better movie. I heard the director of the film wasn't happy with the theatrical cut
What if this scene wasn’t deleted and Peter dad had been bitten by spider during testing in the lab that will be spectacular only just if marvel listene to me sometimes 😅
First time seeing this. WHY WAS THIS DELETED!!!!
The most powerful exchange between father and son that I have ever witnessed in a comic book movie. Let alone a Spider-Man film. Ultimate or Amazing universe aside. How this scene didn’t make the final cut is just downright criminal.
Its a really good scene i agree but.. it doesnt make much sense. How did he survive. How does he know abt gwen. How did he know she died and peter was grieving. Why didnt he come back sooner? So many questions but nontheless an amazing scene i love
This is how u do it marvel having mr Parker comfort peter then give him the “with great power line” this is way better than having aunt may say it in NWH.
No
@@ArthurFrancisco-tp6hb 🤷♂️
I like how people think adding ANOTHER scene of ANY quality to the already bloated and obnoxiously messy 300 hour movie would have somehow made it better. Sure, tie a bow on a crusty dog turd, that will fix it.
I really don’t understand why did they delete that scene 😢
I wonder if Peter told May he saw his dad.
He probably didn't. He still got some secrets he had to keep from Aunt May.
Why’d they delete this ?
Because the camera man was forced to balance on a basketball while trying to shoot the scene. Because the dialog is as dry as cardboard buried in the Sahara desert. Because the movie is 45 minutes too long. Because the movie sucks, which is why it objectively flopped, and everyone involved knew it sucked so they didn't care about a scene that makes nl difference. Because Andrew Garfield is the only one in the scene actually acting. Because his father objectively would have died once the windows of the plane were shot out, and then the plane crashed. That's one percent of the reasons why.

Hi
Actually if they kept it it would have gone in controversy with every other spider story basically destroying miguel O'Hara s idea of the canon

it actually makes sense. the entirety of TASM1 & the beginning of TASM2 were all buildups just for this scene.
