bring an empty water bottle thru security. you can fill it up at the water fountains.
That's a given though, who doesn't do that
Drinking lots of water before, during, and after landing helps a lot (no more jetlags). I always travel long haul flights every year and I have proven this to be really helpful.
Thanks I need to do that . I trave long flights too.
“Write” lower case “a, b, c” with each foot. Put the free pillow at the small of your back as soon as you sit down
Taking a drink onboard with you, be aware of changes in air pressure in the cabin and open it very slowly, or you may wet yourself and others. If travelling really light you can still take a toothbrush with a bit of toothpaste pressed into the bristles, and a few body wipes in a ziplock bag, for freshening up in the toilet mid-flight. If you don't have space for deoderant in your bag you can use a cotton makeup 'wipe' you have run the ball of the deoderant over enough times to soak the pad, then stored in a small ziplock bag. If you don't like straight water or sugary drinks or tea/coffee you can also take a fizzy vitamin tablet for cold water, or a green teabag for hot water with you to be sure you stay hydrated. Take a spare extra pair of foam earplugs for your nose - no kidding! I once got trapped on a long flight right next to someone who stank of stale BO so much the people in the seats in front of me were commenting on it, and there were no other seats available. Sometimes other people's perfume/aftershave can be distressing, too. (You can wear a mask now fortunately to disguise this trick, I just threw my scarf over my head and feigned sleep).
LOL talking about BO! I was seated near to a big guy (separated by an aisle) and the moment he sat down, he took off his shoes!! I don't even want to recall that ordeal. He was sweating profusely (he must be running from his earlier flight to join the current one we are in) and his socks like had been with him for days
Man-boy sitting next to me from Tokyo to DFW was so obese that he could not wipe himself. I could only breathe when sticking my nose in the aisle. Don't know if Vick's is allowed onboard to wipe underneath my nose, next time.
Aisle seat is king on long haul flights
It may be for some but I find I am continually nudged and bumped by the cart or passengers.
@@georgiafrye2815 to me the worst is being blocked and not being able to get up when Iwant to
I can only sleep if I can lean against the wall/window. I find a seat in rows of 2 so I’m not walking over 2 people to get up.
Cons are people hitting you/ bumping to you ,but you can get up to a lavatory as many as you want easily !! You can get up & walk around & when it gets to your destination ,you can get up / reach your overhead bin to get your luggage quickly / leave faster ! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
@@georgiafrye2815not to mention the person behind you who yanks on the top of your seat to stand up
Add some electrolytes into your water on the flight. I buy a 2lt bottle after I go through customs and add in some electrolyte tablets. I drink that instead of plain water, coffee, alcohol etc. it stopped me from getting dehydrated, staved off hunger, and allowed me to sleep better during the flight.
Aisle seats and a great book do it for me.
Best economy seat is exit row window seat😊
Have gum for fluctuations in cabin pressure on landing. Take a medication to clear your sinuses also help to lessen the pain.
Brings some tums or ginger chews. Low salt snacks also.
I am definitley into comfort for flying.I might buy some compression socks. I read to drink ginger ale on the plane. I fear my carry on will be too big! Still looking for noise canceling ear pugs.I always bring a book! I always have a blanket on flights.
Thanks for this informative video. I am planing to travel to Thailand in March .
I do a little leg stretching in the aisles. I may look like a dork, but I don’t care.
Invest in earplugs & an eye mask. I once had a horror 14.5 hour flight we were delayed 4 hours & we asked for the emergency exit row - near the rest rooms. I don't recall any signs saying "please stand & gasbag near us." We were near the Restrooms so you can imagine the noise of people standing around waiting to use the rest room. This was my last time to NEVER not take earplugs.
Bring snacks !! Dried fruits & chocolates & nuts ,bananas, bagels ,etc.! I always wear a knee length cotton ,or modal one piece ! Ear plugs & sour candies/ spicy peppermint candies to make more salaiva to swallow for ear pain !! Saline nasal spray !💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
Agree with your answer - but cannot take nuts on most flights now! ( for people with reactions!)
@lt1107 Are you serious !? I mean ,it's for individual consumption ! I thought only peanuts were concerned. Thank you for your reply .💜🥁🐉🎤🎶✈️💞
It's as if you are making economy class sound like a nightmare when it is what the vast majority fly and is more than catered for by airlines
Any tips on how to sleep on a plane? I find it impossible. I wish more people would unplug and chat with each other. That would help us nervous extrovert flyers calm and pass the time. In the "good old days" this was what made flying fun....all the interesting people you would meet and befriend on the flight :)
It sounds silly, but I bring a small pillow from home with a clean white pillowcase. It smells like home, it feels like home, it transports you from that cramped space.
I try and replicate my bedtime routine from home as much as possible e.g washing my face, brushing my teeth (use bottled water, not the bathroom sink water), . I cover up with a shawl (keep your seat belt visible so they don’t have to wake you) and then I listen to my regular bedtime music. Hope this helps.
I gave up trying to sleep on long flights long ago, instead I sleep well before I fly so I can spend time watching movies. I buy snacks and drinks in the airport - this way I have all I need for my movie night. Works every time. Also try wax earplugs (featured in an episode of Gray's Anatomy :))
Don't "wear" a perfume that is pungent , and liable to annoy and irritate passengers close to you , no-one wants to be reaching for the (sometimes missing) barf bag , even before the plane takes off
It is my biggest fear .. perfume gives me migraines
I am flying economy class for 13 hours and I'm not concerned at all, I'm male, extremely short, I have my compression socks as for the air, i'm flying in a 787 Dreamliner with the revolutionary new way of bringing air in the the plane so the air is my more pure than the usual way of brining it in off the engines
7 hours isn’t what I call long haul try a journey of 24hours plus and tell me if your tips work. We Aussies know all about this and there’s no way to come off the plane feeling good/ relaxed after a marathon flight journey to UK or Europe unfortunately 😢
Tell me about it, I have worked out that flying via Japan to Europe (using JAL) is the best option for me.
Window seat in the back. Window because you get a private space when trying to sleep. Near the back because if there are any empty seats, they almost always are the middle back seats. 80% of the time, I get an empty seat next to me when I fly window seat near the back.
Bulkhead seats (which in some planes are also the emergency exits) may have more legroom, but they are narrower, i.e. good for tall, THIN people. Big people are simply screwed in cattle class (unless you buy two seats, which is still way cheaper than a business class seat). Sometimes the bulkhead seat nearest the window has this plastic protrusion from the airplane wall, which basically takes away your leg space. Also, the bulkhead area is where people congregate for the toilet.
I take a seeping pill fall asleep after take off and wake up at landing. No jet lag.
Jet lag is inevitable even if you get sleep. Your body will always feel on the wrong time zone for a few days.
I feel the same. Sleeping pills help a lot. Last long haul trip didn’t take any and had horrendous jet lag for two weeks. Those neck sleeping aids don’t work
Sleeping pill is a wrong idea, specifically, if there is an emergency you will be drowsy.
I don’t take a sleeping pill, but I do take Gravol. Helps me to fall asleep, but doesn’t make me groggy.
I tend to use the bathroom often on long flights, so always try to get an aisle seat, preferably close to a bathroom.
I survived economy by flying Business class😂
Awesome tip!
11 hours flight is short to me. Watch 2 or,3 movies and you get to destination before you realize. Weak To constantly complaining
lucky you!
saving real hard for it
I do the same since several years on flights that are 5 hours plus. I don’t think I would survive a longer flight in Business class anymore.
A good book
I like to bring everything for a shower during layover. flip flops microfiber towel, soap, shower cap etc.
Are there showers in airports??
Some lounges have them...
"A lot of times passengers can't afford to upgrade to business class". Dear God what planet do you live on? Have you any idea what a small percentage of passengers ever travel business class? Look it up.
7hrs isn’t that long, depends where in the world you’re from, but under 10hrs is not long haul to me.
When did they say it’s 7 hours ? They said it’s 7 tips 😅
Always bring a massaging neck pillow😊
Im doing my best to get back to flying economy its sooooo much cheaper. I started flying Business in 2020 and havent been able to go back since but its bout 4xs economy price.
The struggle is real!
Try Premium economy, usually just 50% more then economy, more legroom and a little wider seats much cheaper then business class. OK if you are not flying long haul overnight
On overnight flights I do not eat the meal offered after takeoff. I prefer to wait and eat breakfast. I don't eat dinner at 1 am at home, so why should I eat a big meal at 1 am on a plane?
Start taking Melatonin a few days before and after flight. Wear old clothes and throw them away on arrival. Pit on clothes from suitcase and voila` - more room in your suitcase.
Get a gel seat cushion. I just got to Thailand 3 days ago. 19hrs of flying just to get here. I've never had my ass hurt so bad in my entire life. I will be buying a gel seat pad for the flight home. Everything else is really not that big a deal. I'm 5 11 and was able to completely straighten my legs under the seat in front of me. (Korean Air).
Is gel considered a liquid. Like peanut butter, it will probably not pass security, just saying
Choose your seat fine…can’t choose those who are seated around you.
If you are prone to nausea, bring an orange or tangerine. You can use the peel as a deodorizer. Bring a hoodie, you can use it if you get cold or as a pillow. Bring a pen on international flights.
Pay extra for a seat with extra leg room.
How I'll feel when I land??? Tired and stressed thanks to the sardine cans that they call airplanes these days.
To me i dont get huffy about ehere to sit except praying i ll arrived safely .i dont waste my energy about getting sleep youll have all of that once you gets home.
exactly long haul is 12 hours plus
Xanax
Never fly economy, upgrade to premium economy and if you can afford it its got to be business class for any flight over 9 hours
Not possible. Im a widow in Australia going to visit my parents in UK taking 2 kids with me. I've been saving for years and for 3 of us in economy its $6000+. Instead i have chosen the most direct route that puts us in the air for just under 20 hours. Some routes and airlines are a tad cheaper but they take you south first then north through the middle east putting air time closer to 30 hours.
@@gailwatson4485 Personally I recommend you buy your parents the tickets to visit you in Australia. reason is your kids would hate the British weather and they would hate being on a 20 hour flight. Your parents would probably love the chance to visit Australia, and they could fly premium economy for the same cost
I pay for economy class then upgrade to 1st isle with miles. Easy. I will never fly economy again.
I'm like window seat
I like that siting on the window
I fear that I will fall out of my seat when asleep if I have an aisle seat 🙄😬 🤣 Always like the window seat on the right side (facing the front of the plane) and you can lean up against the wall of the plane to get comfy 👍
What if I snore really load I'm so worried cause I do
My husband snores loudly but the jets are so loud anyway you don't hear it that much.
That is not a realistic picture.
No way on a long haul ever. You either get the over talker, the up downer to their overhead luggage constantly, the smelly passenger the list goes on and on. 🙈🙈
i just fly a decent airline like Singapore and get piss ed😢
Thumbnail is clickbait and the 'tips' aren't only for economy.
Y-ou not CH-ou. If you are going to make $$$ on You Tube pronounce it properly.
Butt pillow!
Most definitely. I have been known to sit on my neck pillow, just to relieve the pressure on my coccyx
I was on a plane once with a hard seat so yeah.
They don't want you moving around in the cabin.
Says who
Do it anyway periodically. At least long haul you got 2 aisles so you can do circuits 👍
Your tips are somewhat meh ! We all know this already
Business class only fuck that lol
Same here
Ikr!! I've been saving for years to do UK from Australia with my youngest 2 kids, 15 and 17. We can't just upgrade!! I can't really afford this at all but I'm an only child and not seen my aging parents in 5 years.
Sleeping pills
Number one tip.... Do NOT fly on South West
Or Air France…. I’ve never been more uncomfortable, hungry or thirsty. The Flight Attendants were less than accommodating.
Ask for water on PAL and never got any. So I just get up and get my own
