Amen!! Our country may as well be run by corporations. No one punishes them for anything and they get whatever they want from the government from lobbying(bribes if you ask me). They pay sh*t wages to their workers. Worker pay rose by 18% since the early 80’s and CEO pay rose by 1146% in the same time period adjusted for inflation. That’s ridiculous. Can’t they make $20m less when they make $150m a year so workers have better pay and insurance?

These Boeing executives should be in prison for what they did to this company that is critical to national security. Tragic. Cruel.

I don't usually subscribe to "conspiracy theories" but this is a little toooo coincidental. Boeing is linked to lucrative government contracts, and not just a few either. I can't imagine the $$ involved in the "black budget". Ya,, a lot at stake for Boeing!!

As a former private investigator this case has a very bad smell to it. Hmm! He commits "suicide" the night before he was to testify after years fighting for more safety? Most cases I worked on were homicides where the family was not happy with the "official" version. They had good reason to want independent people from the outside taking a look.
As a person who sometimes watches true crime I agree. But yeah, nice to see someone with experience actually saying so. Most sources don’t want to be sued so no one says anything

I would want to review all of the evidence and bring in my own outside experts if I was working a case like this. No one ever sued me, Why? I could depose them under oath and have discovery. That is a real Pandora's Box.

How heartbreaking for his family and those who loved him.
Boeing used to be a company of American Pride. My grandpa proudly worked for Boeing for almost 40-years. He’d be rolling in his grave if he saw what his beloved company has become. Boeing is a reflection of everything wrong with America right now. Sad days.
As I’ve seen other people state, McDonald Douglass bought Boeing with its own money… the prestigious name and ethic have completely disintegrated due to that influence

Thank you for keeping this story alive, CBS. Please keep on it and keep us informed. This family has suffered a tragic loss of a valued loved one who spoke up to keep people safe when flying. My prayers remain with them. Boeing must be held accountable for its disregard for public safety - and for the death of this honorable and courageous man.
I used to love Boeing... This whole thing has exposed the dark underbelly of the industry.

To refer to John Bennet's death as an 'apparent suicide' is to sell one's soul to the devil. A ten-year old would be faulted for such lack of judgement.

His friend spoke out and stated he warned her that if he turns up dead it’s not suicide. If he told his friend that just imagine what he was going through. If you fight for TRUTH AND PUSH TO DO THE RIGHT THINGS the powerful will do anything to prevent it from happening. He did the right thing and NOW BOEING HAS A STAIN. @cbsnews , I a whistle-blower also was treated just as John Barnett...retaliation for speaking up. 20 years of my life. I fought for ...all of you. I managed to get my story in a textbook. I have 20 years of documentation. Do you care?....your silence says no.

What I find interesting from what I hear is that his own gun was used. Did the shooter take it from him in the car or was it stolen from his home.
