Seriously this kid doesn't fit with everyone else's art style but he knows what we wanted. Considering by his tone, it seems like he's been at this for a while but never succeeds. He never shows up again either.
His posture and lack of reaction from almost killing his teacher make it look extremely intentional, lol. He was like, leaning forward to get a good shot and aim down the sights. Normally for a gag like this you'd have the dumb character looking flustered and clumsy when it cuts back to them, but he just smiles like "eh, I'll get you next time", and doesn't seem to be having any trouble handling the crossbow properly.
It would be a good attempt of assasination. Just a new recruit who was just cleaning his crossbow and as the newbie he is, he forgot to take the arrow and it can totally pass as a accident because the key of this are the other students. They witnessing how he did that clear accident. It would be the perfect crime
This is such bad writing and such a poor attempt at humour. You can tell that the "Kill all men" and "Men are bad" mentality of the writers is showing here.
I find it amusing that almost killing people with weapons in this world is so laughable, like they get slightly upset at most. Yet they randomly attempt to make serious stories
This scene would be made even better if one of three things happened. 1) It was revealed later that this kid was genuinely trying to assassinate him. In other words, he was a villain in disguise this whole time. 2) Every time the teacher opens his mouth a different weapon comes out of nowhere and he has to catch it with his bare hands, each catch getting more ridiculous every time. (First an arrow, then a runaway mace, a cannonball, a giant battle-ax, etc.) It's played for a joke that he can catch these things, then, in a moment of high action, his talk gets interrupted by some massive weapon thrown by some villain as it breaks through the window. You've already established that he does this every day, and then you realize. This was more than just a running joke, this guy's honestly a really good fighter. 3) Play it off as a joke at first weapons are randomly flying around, and then subvert audience expectations by having it not be a joke one day. Someone gets skewered and genuinely hurt, but the reaction is exactly the same. As the person bleeds on the ground, he just gets rushed to the medical ward and no one bats an eye. Why? Because this is an everyday occurrence. People are so constantly skewered by weapons they have become desensitized to it.

That's been bothering me like this teacher looks like he's more cartoonish, that one boy looks more anime, and the main character looks like an awkward combination of both I think it's the inconsistent lineart
Never mind the boys posture and him seeming like he’s done this before. The way the teacher is looking is like this has happened before to him. He’s used to students shooting him or something.
Honest to God, this is actually a good pitch for an anime. A self aware character realizes that he is in a shitty anime, and his only way to get out is to assassinate the author's shitty self-insert protagonists.
Snapdragon punched another student and got in trouble, but this kid almost killed a teacher (while looking unphased by that fact) and gets away with it.

The kid somehow shot parallel to the ground without even being on the bridge... He is obviously an extremely powerful reality warping wizard. His only mistake was shooting directly in his target's line of sight, as it gave them the opportunity to literally catch the arrow with their bare hand.
Considering one of the villains is a shape-shifter, it would have been kind of cool if they revealed later that this was actually him trying to assassinate Caroway.
Crossbow Hero, Purple Hair, Aster, and Slime Boy would be the greatest team in this show, honestly. If I could interact with them, I'd turn them to join the cat girl. I have no idea what her motive is but she's better than the mains and with this group training at her side it'd make everyone cheer for the villains of this show just so all these awful characters get deleted and we're left with the descents.
Local Shota almost saves the day. PS: The voice acting of the teacher sounds extremely weird. The VA is trying to sound masculine, but his vocal range is not trained enough. Almost sounds like Jaleel White Sonic.
It's because that character is voice-acted by the series creator. He is literally a perfect self-insert who even is designed after the creator. I'm not even joking.
Why is nobody talking about the "crossbow", that looks like a toy you give to 5-year-old or use as a prop in a play? Is it explained in the plot? Does it transform or does he use magic to shoot the arrow? Because you're not firing shit with that regular ass rope Edit: Also shouldn't he be shooting bolts not arrows?
I know this is about the kid but look at the drawbridge. That drawbridge design is horrible. Its so janky. The wooden door is just sitting on top the bridge uneven and not flushed with it at all. How would a cart even get inside without having to move over the ledge of the door? I've never seen a drawbridge so poorly done lol. Its not even a complicated concept to draw either. Just make it flush with the bridge. If they want to keep the circular top design they could simply make a cutout on the bridge in the same way. Its so annoyingly bad lol
@@artlover9261 Actually, it's even worse than that. Not only do the stairs go straight into the wall like you pointed out, but if you look at it, you'll notice that based on where the cliff is, there would be no possible way for there to be a path between the stairs and the cliff side, but there's also very clearly not enough space for someone to easily go around the other side of the wall to get to where those boats are, it's too thin and you'd probably just fall into the water. As a result, the stairs are just there and serve no actual purpose even if there was an opening in the side of the wall for someone to go through, which there isn't. Another thing I noticed is that the dirt road beyond the bridge doesn't even actually align with the bridge itself. The left side is fine but the right side is just grass. Which, judging by the size of the characters compared to the size of the bridge to get an idea of how thin the dirt road actually is, if you were to try to get a cart onto this bridge, then even if steered as far left as you could to get the maximum amount of dirt road possible under your cart, you would still have the right wheel going through the grass just trying to get into this horrible town. Edit (and I apologize in advance for how long it is but please bear with me): I had to make this edit after I went and watched the "Aaaahhhh Huaaaagghhh Woagh" (we'll refer to this as "AHW" in the future) clip. It gets worse. There are so many inconsistencies between the depiction of the town in this clip and the depiction of the town at the start of that one. 1: In this clip, you can clearly see that there is a tree to the left side of the road and another path branching off that leads to the right. In the beginning of the AHW clip, both the tree and the path are absent. The tree I can somewhat understand failing to keep consistent, but the fact that even the path is gone implies that they don't even have a map of any sort that tells them how this world is laid out whatsoever to the point this path is completely unnecessary to keep consistent between scenes. 2: In this clip, the wall is made of very small tan-ish yellow stone bricks. At the start of the AHW clip, the wall is very clearly made of very large grey stone bricks. Again, I can understand not being able to keep the size of the bricks consistent (although the variance in the size is a bit questionable) but the fact that even the *color* is off says a lot about how much they truly cared about this town. This is made even worse by the fact that when they get to the battle moments later in the AHW clip we return to the wall being made of tan-ish yellow bricks 3: The dirt road is actually as wide as the bridge is in the AHW clip, whereas as I noted earlier, the dirt road is barely half the width of the bridge in this clip. 4: The gate in the AHW clip has two towers, and more importantly, there appear to be people standing on the wall. In this clip, there are no towers near the gate, and we can clearly see that the area atop the walls is very thin and would be fairly dangerous to stand on as a result considering there is nothing to prevent you from falling, which makes sense in this clip considering there also seems to be no way to even get up there in the first place, despite the fact that, again, there are people up there in the AHW clip. 5: There is no drawbridge at all at the start of the AHW clip. The stone bridge just connects directly to the gate. Not only is this inconsistent with this clip, it's also inconsistent with the AHW clip as during the battle (once the wall changes back to the tan-ish yellow bricks) you can clearly see the terrible drawbridge in all its awful glory. The artists seem to have no idea how this town actually looks. 6: The one and only thing they actually CHOSE TO KEEP CONSISTENT is the useless staircase that goes straight into the wall. That is consistent across all depictions of the town. This alone makes me want to do an art analysis of this entire show just to see how little they truly cared about depicting this world they created. As an artist myself this is both entertaining in the worst way possible and painful in the best way possible.
I know people cheering on the kid but let's really think about it, this scene was made just to show off how powerful and cool this character is avoiding death in a split second, but it comes off as 15 yearold cringe writing for a marysue. Was the kid aiming for for head? Why was there no scene with the kid checking his weapon? He just appears out of thin air if you look closely, doesn't look shocked at all accidentally hurting someone. This is just dumb writing for the same of "Look how cool my trans character you guyz!" The Boss from MGS3 had a cool moment, snatching the right gun being juggled were the bullet is and saving the life of Sokolov. She had a lot of plot dump so you know how much of a big deal she is, and not pull stuff like catching bullets with her teeth and throwing them all in the head.
Psycho Mantis and Revolver Ocelot tried to figure out how she did that, and even both of them together couldn't manage it. The Boss was just on another level. Also The Last Days of FOXHOUND is great and proves that bad art can be saved by fantastic writing.

I think the 1 voice ill defend is his (not the acting, but the voice itself) because he *is* trans (aswell as his VA) and unfortunately trans people sometimes dont have the luxury of voices that fit their gender.
@@chadlikespasta3142 if it were live action id give it a pass, but they literally could have had anyone voicing this guy, he's a 2d dude. Maybe someone who doesn't sound so young. Or sick, I remember a different clip where he sounded like he had a bad cold.
@@donutchan8114 no no i get it. The acting is bad. I was defending the voice itself, which i really think would have come across better if he knew how to voice act.
because he's voiced by the creator, who is also transgender and whom he's based on. also said creator has no prior voice acting experience.

I think it's the inconsistent lineart
Never mind the boys posture and him seeming like he’s done this before. The way the teacher is looking is like this has happened before to him. He’s used to students shooting him or something.
Honest to God, this is actually a good pitch for an anime. A self aware character realizes that he is in a shitty anime, and his only way to get out is to assassinate the author's shitty self-insert protagonists.
That man had a towel in hand ready to wipe the prints despite there being so many witnesses, that kid came with a plan and should be feared.

He is obviously an extremely powerful reality warping wizard.
His only mistake was shooting directly in his target's line of sight, as it gave them the opportunity to literally catch the arrow with their bare hand.

I was genuinely disappointed when he caught the arrow.
He looks so cute! Hope we see more of him attempting to assassinate the teacher!
This, but without any context

Now that you mention it, i noticed that the stairs to get to the boats it's actually hitting the wall lmao
Wtf..
A lot of the background art and animation is poorly done in this show. It's pretty low quality and pathetic. Not worthy to be called anime at all.
@@Hinatachan360 no joke there’s a google image of a lamp in the background of a scene that still has its watermark.
@@artlover9261
Actually, it's even worse than that.
Edit (and I apologize in advance for how long it is but please bear with me):
I had to make this edit after I went and watched the "Aaaahhhh Huaaaagghhh Woagh" (we'll refer to this as "AHW" in the future) clip.
This is made even worse by the fact that when they get to the battle moments later in the AHW clip we return to the wall being made of tan-ish yellow bricks
3: The dirt road is actually as wide as the bridge is in the AHW clip, whereas as I noted earlier, the dirt road is barely half the width of the bridge in this clip.
Crossbow boy almost do a Baldwin.
This was planned.
THE KID WAS LEANING INTO IT
IT'S HELLA INTENTIONAL, WTH
The guy was clearly trying to do us a favour, he didn't even seem to be bothered while he got caught.
I know the show is bad, but credit where credit is due, some hero of an animator tried to kill this self insert off, but it was stopped
Psycho Mantis and Revolver Ocelot tried to figure out how she did that, and even both of them together couldn't manage it. The Boss was just on another level.
