10:51 for the Hera hitch change, it used to be that the killing blow on an enemy would not spread damage to other hitched enemies, which made hitch worse for slow and hard-hitting aspects that would often overkill weak enemies.
Maybe it was to incentivize people to actually use Omega Casts, but honestly unless I'm running Momus, Charon, or Persephone I personally prefer casting as a quick set-and-forget. This patch gave the remainder of Olympians a regular cast boon, while still offering Omega Cast alternatives. It would be kind of cool to see 2nd tier and projectile cast boons for more Olympians, though maybe that would oversaturate the boon pool. Idk, I'm just glad Spontaneous Combustion is gone because that Omega Cast was bland as hell.
I like the changes to the casts but if anything they're more "samey" now. Before this patch the effects were all over the place. Now they all pretty do damage in different ways on regular cast, with effects on the omega cast pushed to tier 2
@@tealwombatand not just that, except for Zeus (and maybe Hephaestus, I'm not sure about vent), now they all either apply a curse or use a second boon to do so I agree with you, I like the changes even though they're more "samey", also in a sense of "utility" (or whatever people would like to call it, I can't think of a better word)

New scorch is hot! Get Hestia's keepsake, get blades, do a monogod run (with an extra boon for origination), proceed to roast everything! Also, her mana regen is just the perfect fit for daggers (+mana on attack)
I like the meta currency change. This makes boons like posiedon sunken treasure and etc actually worth taking if it also makes the positive effects of the bones and etc better.
i am glad they're making game easier because higher fear is kinda brutal when you have a bunch of boon that completely suck. they become like noob-traps or landmines where if you don't avoid them. you can auto-lose for no reason other than bad rng.
I’m surprised they changed ionic spark. That seemed like they were trying to do support some sort of low mana build to constantly activate the spirit surge boon that strikes everything with lightning when you have 10 mana.
The main issue with the previous version of Ionic Spark was that you could end up in a situation where you were locked at 0 mana after taking a boon that primes mana.
Wait… the Divinity change and the Night means… you can activate Night with Death, take the Lovers, activate both Queen and Judgment, trigger Divinity, and still pick up your Eternity for Death Defiance- it was impossible to have Eternity and Divinity for Judgment before so this is all new!
Apparently the Golden Rule duo boon after the patch update is crazy good and not intended/as described. Instead of 10% it adds 10 base damage to every 100 gold. My run I got 6k gold and my normal special on dagger would hit 600+ damage without crit and every hit of my Demeter cast would hit 600+ damage as well! The damage is crazy. Give a try Dan!
It made speed running more interesting too because of its high risk, high reward nature. If you're too aggressive you might get bonked a few times and burn a good run.
31:50 There's one chamber with one laser tower at the center, you'd enter the room from the north and laser also spawns there and would hit you if you held down-right immediately after entering.
what the FUCK is this new freezer burn? It seems possible to actually accumulate scorch on bosses and then oneshot half their HP with a single hit, because they've basically let youtrigger all your scorch damage instantly AND given it a free crit.
Oh so that's why I was seeing hits for 5000 against Chronos... I thought it was my hammer combo. Aspect of Artemis + Escalating Ambush + Explosive Ambush. But I also had the new Freezer Burn and the Hephy+Demeter duo that makes blasts clear freeze. I swear I hit the second half of Chronos' second phase, blinked, and he was dead.
I like most of these changes, but the Solar Ring changes break my heart. I know they're for balancing reasons but I will miss my easily obtainable portable nuke :( Edit for using the wrong word lol
This might actually be a buff ngl since apollo now gets easy origination via cast, and charon with an origination enabling cast+OE special was already good; now while the setup for solar ring is harder, the setup for origination is way easier (zeus+apollo) than before, and you can now aim for glorious disaster that hits with origination active more reliably
Solar Ring → Prominence Flare is great. It was weird that all other gods changed the actual cast while Apollo’s “cast” added an effect after the expiration of your regular omega cast.
The Heph legendary is so cool now. I got it with aspect of momus and it took the omega move repeat time down from 1.5s to .5s. Absolutely insane with stuff like giga moonburst and dual moonshot
22:20 I got to try it with trial of heartache (the last trial I had to do, they really should make them replayable). It’s pretty good, and it’s really fun. I’m sure Chaos was amused.
The new Hera-Hestia duo boon is BROKEN. It gives you 1 of every element, AND ONE, ENTIRE INFUSION BOON, for EACH of those elements, meaning after picking it you get 4 FREE INFUSION BOONS. Also, reworked Artemist keepsake is fun lol. I thought it gave you -30 health rather than locking you at 30 health and picked it for last biome on a 250hp run and was like; We're so cooked. (I had 3 duos on this run; The hera-hestia, hera-poseidon and hera-demeter, so the artemis trinket gave me absurd 50% crit chance for free, and as I had the infusion for taking no more than 15 damage this run was actually super easy lol.)
I got a run with the new Aphro legendary, it feels amazing in encounters as you always have origination with at minimum 4 status curses (weak + 3 random), it's not very good against any bosses though, as you need weak to expire to actually reapply the curses. I've also been able to get infinite magick with glamour gain and poseidon/aphro duo. Overall very very fun :)
Thank you @haelian for this vid. Awesome patch notes, really love the changes here... Although I'm surprised they didn't change the HEPHAESTUS magic regen boon. That one in my opinion is the least favourite magic regen boon among all.
12:57 So the way this (as well as Hephy's Legendary) used to work, is that it would continue the Linear scaling of previous Keepsake/Aspect levels. Circe's Serenity Damage would go up to +140%, for example. But this Patch makes both Boons less constrained to that scaling system
The new Eos change admittedly feels a little clunky to me, I’m used to chaining Omega attacks via auto fire on and just holding the attack button but now it feels like you have to purposefully stop attacking for a moment or dash to restart the attack chain to cast an Omega
These changes look amazing. Hestia and Hephaestus were my least used Gods, but that may certainly change now. At the very least, I am excited to try more Hestia.
The buffs to the boons that increase your keepsake and aspect levels basically made level 4 keepsakes have the stats of a “level 5” keepsake, and same with the aspects. Momus level ups usually decrease omega time by 0.5s, but the boon now decreases the time by 1 full second if Momus is maxed.
Chaos Gates in the fields still force a miniboss, correct? I reckon it'll still be worth rolling for a Spark for that timesave (over a big location) alone, but less necessary
I just did a run where I took scorch cast with grandma cyclone just to trigger origination, but it ended up absolutely spanking most enemies before I really got a chance to get them with my special. Love the patch changes.
Wait... Hestia's new mana regen boon would pair very well with the nerfed Possesed Array hammer right? Could basically cancel out the nerf depending on the numbers.
Honest opinion on engagement ring: I really liked it beforehand, cuz if your build didn't include cast either way you could use it to ensnare foes for longer to get the arcana card DMG bonus
Really curious to know how death works with aspect of Charon. Since both omega special and omega cast are going off, does it just have 15% crit naturally? That would be great but would probably make Charon too powerful.
I feel like hearth gain is pretty good if youre doing a build where you use regular and omega attacks interchangeably, even though it’s not as viable for dps runs but still pretty fun
Aspects of Circe and Thanatos both depend on using regular attacks to charge up Good Omega Things. (Obviously Circe is mostly self-recharging but you can get a catch-22 of "No Magick = No Omega Moves to get Serenity going")
Really like these changes, especially for cast and hex making them see more use. On another note, the likelihood of legendaries and duos doesn't feel like it's changed? I haven't seen either of the two at least despite fishing for them.
