YES! CARY GRANT AS STAR OF THE MONTH! YES, YES, YES! Can't wait!
You’re cute
For me, Cary Grant is the star of every month! I watched The Bishop's Wife 17 times this Christmas! The beauty of his soul shines in every one of his films.
I LOVE Cary Grant. Happy Holidays AND thank you to all at TCM for your hard work and stellar programming! ❤💚❤💚
Cary Grant is one only top five actors. It seems they are only a limited number of his great movies on TCM. What happened to Father Goose, Houseboat, None But the Lonely Heart, Dream Wife, People Will Talk, Male War Bride? Shall I go on?
All those you mention plus many more were on TCM at one point this last year or year before except Father Goose. I did not see it shown but could have missed it. All the ones you mention are pretty good especially Male War Bride with Ann Sheridan. They had such chemistry wish they could have made more movies together.
TCM has forgotten Carys and Marlana Dietrich s 1932 Paramount Film Blonde Venus. There are no Paramount films represented in Cary tribute.
@Rubi-ll8ss W.B. removed a lot of films.
@@robinm.1961 hi Male war bride was on a few days ago.
Cary Grant is one of my favorite actors from Hollywood's Golden Age. 👍
Hollywood's post-golden age greatness is now officially just a memory
What is his best movie in your opinion?
I so agree. So glad most of the classic movies are shown on TCM or FXM,Grit(for classic westerns), and Movies Network. Most of the movies current or just pure fluff or so fake looking. Amazing these actors nowadays get paid so much for making plastic films.
I love whoever edits these ‘this month on TCM’ videos! They’re always so well made! I sincerely wish the channel was available on freeview UK TV, I would definitely watch all the time ☺️
I hope there’s still the Thin Man marathon on New Year’s Eve. It’s my favorite tradition on TCM.
TCM is not doing the traditional Thin Man Marathon this year.
The only TM Film playing is After the Thin Man
❤ the quality of oldies and goodies. They never cease to inspire, move, or touch me in one way or another.
The Bishop's Wife one of my Favorites. 🎄🎁
Happy Holidays and Thanks to all at TCM and the work they do!
I love that they included The Trouble w/Angels 🎄
The remix of the background music is brilliant. What a wonderful and unique piece of music. I would
Merry Christmas, TCM 🎄
Absolutely LOVE Cary Grant. He was Frank Sinatra’s co-star in The Pride & The Passion and he was a guest on Truth or Consequences in the 1970s with future The Price Is Right host Bob Barker
Classic pictures are the best. We can learn a lot from them.
We’re slowly approaching a year since I first began watching/recording so many TCM movies and it has been life-changing. I appreciate what you do so much 🫶 Thank you for all the memories this past year and here’s to many more!
I can’t wait. I love Classic Movies❤❤❤
Another December, another time when TCM puts out another tremendous month with another megastar as Star of the Month in Cary Grant right around the Holidays. God bless this channel.
Yaaayyy! Cary Grant and Christmas! Thank you TCM!
People there are so many great classic films playing on UA-cam.
Finally Once Upon a Honeymoon! I haven't seen this one in a while. Brilliant film. ❤
If only TCM had its own streaming channel… I miss it.
I thought they did do have one.
Cary Grant SOTM Dec ‘23! While I’ll watch It’s a Wonderful Life each Xmas, The Bishop’s Wife will be rewatched at least 10x this month.
The music in the background sounds like a remix of the Straus classic The Tales From the Vienna Woods.
These and the monthly preview for The New Beverly in Los Angeles always remind me why I feel in love with movies. EVERY, SINGLE, MONTH
Marvelous selection of holiday classics, as always. Exceptional December montage including the delightful remix of Tchaikovsky's Waltz of the Flowers.
Brilliant video showing your December lineup....Love how you end the video with the conductor finish! I am enjoying this months movies...! Happy Holidays!!
The remix of The Nutcracker Suite. 👌 Nice...
May this Holiday bring you the same level of warmth as these movies do!
My favorite month on TCM! And Cary grant the star? Perfect
Cary Grant! My favorite! Thank you! Merry Christmas!
Thank you TCM for, including the movie titles in, the description. Great line up. Happy holidays everyone.
Love this. Thank you.
❣️❤😍❤❣️Mr. Grant, Miss Monroe and more!!!!❣️❤😍❤❣️ 🎅🎉🥳🎉🎅Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, everyone!🎅🎉🥳🎉🎅
I LOVE Lena Horne!
😊😊 holy spirit of God stir up the waters 💥 we Appreciate You 💞
Cary Grant ❤️❤️❤️
I love Cary Grant. ❤
Wondering why you never show A Christmas Carol aka Scrooge starring Alistair Sim. It’s really the best version.
it's always shown in canada, and you are correct - it is the best version
Speaking of Lew Ayers, there is a1942 early Noir produced at MGM starring Lew Ayres. The film is rare but worthy of revisiting it for its absolute joy. The film has horror elements with Basil Rathbone playing the heavy .
This was the last film that Ayres made at Metro due to his conscitous objection to killing at the war.
Ayres served honorably as a medic in the South Pacific. He was awarded three battle stars for bravery.
Unlike John Wayne, who was a draft dodger, Ayers served his country honorably.
the righs?
Finally… Archie Leach 👍🏼💕💕
Love TCM glad they are showing rebel without a cause love that movie
Music is: The Nutcracker- Waltz of the Flowers(Remix) by Brian Burrows
Oh yes I'm there!
Several movies shown in these clips were Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Red Shoes, Meet Me in St. Louis, In the Good Old Summertime, Little Women(1933),The Bells of St. Mary's, Stormy Weather, Cabin in the Sky, The Seven Year Itch, Fiddler on the Roof, The Bishop's Wife, The Philadelphia Story, Bringing Up Baby, An Affair to Remember, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Gilda, Breathless, I'm No Angel, The Wild One, Rebel Without a Cause, It Happened One Night, A Christmas Carol ,1938, Little Women (1949), The Band Wagon, The World of Henry Orient, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Mame, and that it is all I know.
Thank you. If I may add to the list ( correctly, I hope ) : I Was A Male War Bride, In Name Only, My Favorite Wife, It Happened On Fifth Avenue, The Trouble With Angels and Ladies Of The Chorus Also, David Niven 's voiceover recalling Christmas' past in The Bishop's Wife. Don't know the clips at :06 and :36.
@@miketutek3366 Good eye! Complete list of films in order of their appearance is in the video description.
@@TurnerClassicMoviesYour network has missed the ball so often
It is proven by omitting two of Carys best films. It would be easy for the network to get the films easily from Colombia for Only Angels have Wings And The Talk of the Town.
One more things why does TCM dislike Jean Arthur.
If anyone wants to see these Cary Classics,, they are available on UA-cam
@@TurnerClassicMovies Thank you. I did check the video description section and found the complete list of films. Great line-up for the Holiday season.Realize you have scheduling constraints and can't please everyone, but I will miss "Umbrellas Of Cherbourg", "The Holly And The Ivy", and especially "Lady On A Train".Happy Holidays !
Arsenic & Lace ❤🎉😊
TCM is the greatest
Why did Tcm omit two Carys best films 1939 Only Angels Have Wings and 1942s The Talk of the Town. Directed by Howard Hawks For Angels and George Stevens for the Talk of the Town.
Please do not omit my comment.
Finally,Also, Jean Arthur should be Star of the month in the future.
Robert Osborne would never let the film omissions happen
He was a film Historian, not a programmer that depends on algorithms.
I hope what I saw for the schedule isn't real.
The Bishop's Wife is a tradition for me and wife on Christmas Eve and I see it's not playing this year. 😢
The Bishop's Wife is airing on 12/22 at 8pm ET.
What movie is 1:25 with the Christmas lights draped over their arms?
Mame (1974).
Thanks @@miketutek3366
What happened to Strooge 1951 classic with Alistair Sim?
I love that one, but the 1938 version with Reginald Owen was on over the weekend that was quite good.
@melissavidic2895 Glad you enjoyed it. I prefer the 1951 version with Alistair Simm. The Best!
@@robinm.1961 I also enjoyed a 1951 version with Alastair SIm.
0:17
Anyone know the name of the film?
Little Women (1933).
I know the annual memorial montage will be depressing as usual
Where are all the wonderful movies that you used to show? Many classics seems to have disappeared! If this change is due to new management W.B. on TCM this is a terrible travesty. You seem to show some movies over and over. Other great classic films are no longer available. Such a mistake. 😢
AEW sent me
The only reason Cary is the star of the month is because of the Book Archie is out.
TCm is joining the bandwagon
I love TCM, but HARD PASS.
?
Any tcm remember this year?
Pee Wee's Big Adventure was shown in the December video, so I would think Paul Reubens will be remembered this year. I know it is aired well before the New Year; guessing maybe in a week or so.
@@miketutek3366 thanks
