I've never seen this one! I love them closing with Anthony Quinn and then especially Jack Lemmon. I believe those clips are from The Apartment, Days of Wine and Roses, and Glengarry Glen Ross. What a brilliant and versatile actor.
Wow! Thanks for posting this. My little Jersey Shore town finally got TCM that Christmas week 2001. Cable providers were slow to carry it then - claiming it was too expensive. Amazing how somber and spiritual and dramatic these early TCM Remembers were! It's startling. And so many greats left us that year. I remember Dorothy McGuire's family were sad that she was totally left out of the Oscar's tribute segment.. TCM gave her pride of place - the first mention, and a longish piece, with dialogue! Tony Quinn, Jack Lemmon, Budd Boetticher, Jason Miller, and Jane Greer,. And long standing tropes like showing a mainly comic actor in a serious moment, as they do Kathleen Freeman here. TCM has deteriorated. But then, so has the world.
I recently watched a lot of Ann Sothern movies on TCM. Had no idea she made so many movies until I watched the ten Maisie movies as well as several others. Dorothy McGuire and Troy Donahue starred in a summer place together as mother and son which was a pretty good movie.
Thank you to who ever found this it was the first TCM I saw and the music only added to the memory so many of those stars I remembered from childhood made it all the more memorable they were so great
@@joeypieper6384 I see most back then were just made up of movie quotes so the tributes did make a lot of progress around the 2003 TCM Remembers. If I remember, these were on UA-cam but was removed by copyright which eventually made them become lost but as always, someone out there still has a copy of it.
Yes, I have been looking for this...glad it's here...wondering if you could dig up TCM remembers for 2002? That also seems to have vanished...Rod Steiger and others...?
Does anyone have TCM Remembers 1986? The song they used was Alan Parsons Project "Time Keeps Flowing Like A River." The tribute ended with Cary Grant walking out of the frame. He died that year in November. I will never forget that year, because cried for weeks after watching it. I have yet to find it anywhere again after it's showing in Dec '86 and Jan '87.

I've been wanting to see this for ages! And now I know what clip was used for George Harrison.
Damn so many I miss here, especially George, Deborah, Carroll, Jack and Anthony 😢

And 96, 97, 98, and 99.

TCM wasn't launched until 1994.
