Thanks for the info. We use the old school hose you recommended back in the day 😉 Still love it. But it’s good to know there’s another option! And good to know about the new TastePure. Hadn’t seen that yet. I’m sure it’s already summer where you are, but we’re celebrating a WAY early spring, which means camping SOONER! 🎉
I always install the filter before the regulator to help it live a little longer. Befor water deposits start limiting its movement inside.
Careful with that - many filters have a maximum psi rating (camco’s is 65 I think) and I’ve seen water filters rupture from too much pressure.

Has anyone ever got the water tested after the filter? To see if it actually removes impurities out of the water.
Great video. Thank you! We are snowbirds and use a two filter system (5 micron and 0.5 micron) while stationary for six months but when we are traveling, I use a Camco Tastepure filter because it's easier to set it up for one night stays along the way. So we use it for about a week or two and then don't need it again until we travel home. Is it ok to use the same filter after six months being drained and capped off or should I be using a new filter?
How long does one $18 dollar filter last? How often do you need to change out if you are full time? Btw I didn’t see that on the description
It all depends on how much you use it and how bad the water at the campground is. For fulltime we swap them out every 3-4 months on average
OMG your the 5th channel that is being paid by Camco to sell those filters.... i like your channel, but get miffed occasionally at the commercialism... keep up the great content, you & the Mrs...
We’ve been using Camco for 7 years and recommending them the whole time, so we figured it was a good match. We know it’s part of a campaign but that’s just how it works.
@@Five2Go we've been using Clear source virus guard, as we need the extra security above and beyond as we snowbird in Mexico. However that said we do not rely on the clear source sediment filter, we also use a spin down sediment filter, and a UV filter....
For me the 64 trillion dollar question for you is Have you used/had any success with RV water softeners?
We haven’t used them personally but know a few people who have. I think we just don’t care for/want softer water
If you are afraid of bugs in your hose, replace the washers at each end with a screen- washer. problem solved.
Why don't you just use the switch on your water control and set it to fresh water instead of city water setting, this will fill up your fresh water tank without having to buy extra gadgets, when the fresh water is full and you are not needing it, just turn the switch back to city water setting
It’s just preference. Our previous RV had a valve system that I had to use to get fresh water into it and I just didn’t like using it. It felt like it was going to break or loosen up over time, so I just prefer to use the gravity fill because there are no moving parts to wear out.
