  • Hope this video is informative to folks that may live on the east coast right now. It has truly been a let down and a headache for me… I’m sure it works great in other places but south East, nope!

I’m aware but my Starlink hasn’t moved at all.

Just returned from 5 days camping with zero cell signal and Starlink worked as advertised. We had a clear shot to north with obstructions similar to yours. The service had frequent 2-3 second interruptions that were unnoticed while surfing the internet and streaming video. During our trip I was able to work 4 hours a day without issue. The only problem I see is that during video conferencing we would have likely experienced dropouts.

I think right now, it TRULY depends on the part of the country you’re in. Hope to see entire US coverage in the coming years!

Seriously, just put it on a pole. It will increase your field of view. You're probably in a location where the satellites orbit a little lower in the sky. A pole will give you a bigger field of view.

My new neighbors have theirs on a pole and have the same issues I was experiencing. Which honestly was a relief because it means my equipment isn’t faulty

I did the same and it greatly improved my... also, it took 24 hours to properly configure.... at first I was getting 13mb after 24 hours I was getting 143mb - 223mb. also, they recommend that every month or two that you reset the device to update it. Starlink is the way forward dude... and you're in America... while I live in a Jamaica, in the Caribbean!

I went camping for a full 7 days, NO cell phone signals starlink had a shot to the north and I was able to run with no issues. I was able to work and make wifi calls. Streamed netflix and disney plus for my kids. I had 5 different people connected at the same time. I have many of my clients that are in remote locations and a few of them have purchased second and third units. If you have cell signal why would you need the Starlink system
I will buy yours for the right price

I just think it’s not readily available in my location. I’m keeping my unit for remote locations

Please send it to me….I love star link. By the way all of those trees are an obstruction. Here is a simple test forget the app. Hold the dish in your hand at eye level looking across the flat surface . What ever you see, the dish sees……Star link is King.

Sounds like there are not enough satellites up there and your picking up on random ones passing by. My internet guy had some starlink setups and he said it was bad bc not many satellites in Missouri in my area.

  • @chrisfair9228
    @chrisfair9228 Рік тому

Just in case someone has not pointed this out in a non sarcastic way. you are showing good visibility north to south, however satellites orbit around relative to the equator so east and west. The perceived minor obstructions you show in your field of view are significant relative to satellite orbital paths and the location of your dish.

High altitude weather balloons not satellites, not satellites but high altitude weather balloons

you understand that that the starlink satellites are moving, right? Continually moving. from north west horizon to south east horizon. If you don't have a complete clear path for this tracking, then you will have drop-outs.

As far as the hard reset, I’ve literally done everything. I’m a IT guy by trade so I used my experience to try and get it to work properly lol

Mine works fine with 1 minute of blockage with way more trees than you have. I almost never see a drop in videos with three of us using it. At ground level even your RV and neighbors RV's and vehicles will block it. Like I said, I have way more trees, but I use a 20ft pole. Poles do help, they will reduce obstructions.
Are you on the RV version or roaming? Either way your also deprioritized. When you do the speed test it clearly states peak time, so if deprioritized this would be consistent with RVers in congested areas.

It's obvious you didn't do your HOMEWORK on Starlink before you invested in it ! I think your expecting it to see thru trees ,It tells you in black and white and on the APP You have OBSTRUCTIONS !!! It's not the train it's the engineer ....

@@BigCountrysWay I have several treetops on mine they can be seen as plain as Day on the app I'll admit there very low on the visual on the app but they are there ! I think your expecting too much I maybe have a drop signal 1-3 times a day not noticeable when watching's TV or using a Computer.

As the greed kicks in. It was already to expensive and now it's even higher. I guess if you live in the boonies this what you need. I 'll keep what I have which is Fiber optic cable that averages 950 megs per second at $79 a month. If they aren't making money back than they just pay their employees way to much. Yeah how do they think Third world nations will be able to afford it? This guy is talking out of his ass. I have fast speeds Play high resolution movies and music flawlessly. This system is an overpriced failure. The tech isn't ready yet. Don't waste your money unless you are desperate or have no other options or can't afford the extra costs. Maybe down the road it may be ready. As for now it's not worth the costs to have it.

There are clearly red areas on the app telling you that u are not doing it right. And u ignore it. Not their fault u think u are smarter than the app.. u can't be helped

Do you not comprehend the issue I’m having? Of course I see the red areas!!! I can’t move it anywhere to get rid of them and that little bit of red shouldn’t make my internet shitty….
