@@REALTEVINCARTER yo bro bro, try up grading the ethernet cable to a higher cat like cat 6 and you will get better speeds.
@@aviationshorts451 Good idea but bare in mind that if your router/switch only support 100-1000Mbps then the Cat6 will be pointless. Cat5e is good enough,
these Starlink dish max out at 1000Mbps

@@REALTEVINCARTER Not sure why I'm just now seeing this comment...but you don't have to invest in the commercial ones. Once you have a the right networking equipment, you can specify how much of your speed you want to sell. I'm currently doing it for a few communities.
@@mumz6639 Using an outdoor AP and some WISP routers. That's on the cheaper end. But you can get devices relatively affordable and start your own little WISP.

Have you tried doing a speed test on the starlink router downstairs without connecting to the tp-link to see what sort of speeds you get everywhere in the house without any additional routers.

How much do u actually pay for the service?I was charged 65,900 for the kit and my first month bill is 8,590 .I reached out to Starlink but the are saying that extra money was a processing fee from my bank which is scotia and scotia is saying all the money when to Starlink
It’s Scotia fee add on because when I bought it it was exactly what they show

I read something that said it comes,location locked. Only seeing Petersfield in Westmoreland on the map when I check for availabilty. If I live adjacent to the locations less than an hour always, will it picture up in my área?

yes definitely a must if its hard to get internet where you live in montego bay, I still think its too expensive but if you can afford it i'd recommend getting it.

They are not to charge any custom tax because Elon Musk already have a deal with the government. This is why many who bought there's did not pay any.

I ordered about 5 days ago but haven't received any shipping updates. I'm anxious for the service cause my digicel keeps acting up. I will definitely check back once it arrives.
I received notifications today (March 2nd) that my startlink has arrived at dhl Montego Bay, but it's on hold. I also ordered the ethernet adapter, but that has not arrived as yet. I'll go to DHL to pick up both once everything is there.

where did u purchase the ethernet port/dungle?
Great question. In order to purchase any additional products such as the Ethernet port dongle by Starlink you have to be able to login on the website which means you have to already had purchased the product. Once you have access to the website there is a section you can purchase it

Great question, In order to get 2 ethernet connections you would HAVE to buy the adapter seen in the video and if you do not want to do it the way I did in the video by just pluging the cable from the starlink ethernet adapter into a wifi router, bare in mind with this way you would have another wifi along with the starlink wifi but you are going to have more ports available on that wifi router depending on the amount the router comes with or you can purchase a one of those good ethernet splitter from netgear or a comparable brand on amazon. this way you would not have a extra wifi however in my case the extra wifi was needed for both levels of my home. not sure if it would work for you but thats my best advice.
Hi, I live in rural St Elizabeth with no street address (just a district and a PO)...not sure ur reason for picking up at DHL, but was curious if I will get that option because they won't be able to deliver where I live. I didn't see a pick up at DHL option.
Hi @ssweethart, Great Great question and I'm happy to provide some info to the best of my knowledge, We are kinda in the same situation really I have no street address as well (ONLY A DISTRICT and PO BOX) what I think they is based on the address you put in when you are ordering they locate the closest DHL near you and work with them, now once it ships from america you will see a link on your starlink account which takes you to the DHL jamaica Website once your there you can select some options in terms of pick up and delivery, My experience was when it got here in jamaica DHL actually called me and asked if I want to pick it up or if I want to provide step by step instructions to how they can find my house and deliver it here. I dont live far from the DHL so I opted to pick it up, hope this helps and thanks for subscribing!

I am not sure of the deal between Starlink, DHL and Jamaica customs which allows them to ship it here with no extra cost so I’d try to get some more information but good question though I hope ur subscribed we on our way to 1000 !!

Performance can drop but not drastically I had a 1 and 2 times where I have heavy heavy rain and that seemed to have bothered it which made cut off the Internet completely however I usually just do a restart (plug it out plug it in) and it’s usually back in a couple mins with no problem in the rain …..great question btw

Unfortunately the only way I know of getting the service is through the Starlink website. For now I don’t think there is a way to start the process here like that.

@sheldonbrown438 they do not charge u wen it get here no… in fact you just get a call from DHL to tell u wen it is ready for pick up and u go pick it up at the DHL office with additional fees than what u spent to purchase on the site.

Imma post the update video the same date I posted this one so it exactly 1 year later. So everyone can expect a May 10/2024 update video

no they did not, very simple process where you just pay the one price online and you just show your ID at DHL and you just sign and collect....hope it work out for you if you decide to starlink
