When do you let sheep into the vineyards? They don't do any damage? I have a vineyard and two sheep and two goats. I want to let animals into the vineyard after the harvest. It's a good idea ?
That's why they run them in the vineyard during specific seasons. During winter, october-april, there are no leaves on the vineyard and the sheep eat all the grasses. Then during spring, may-june, the vineyard has new growth that is vulnerable, so they stop running the sheep through. Around July-August, the new growth has become solid and strong. Leaves and branches are fully formed. So they can run the sheep one more time. Then august-september, the grapes form and are harvested.
They only eat what they can reach and add fertilizer naturally and pest control maybe they eat some of the low hanging stuff, still a good trade off if you ask me.

HA! Great idea, but all I see them eating is the grape vines!
Chris Schmidtkunz right that's what I thought too

It's called leaf plucking and normally you would have to pay somebody to do it or wear your back by doing it yourself

Delicious
Yeah but wouldn't the lamb's eat up all the grapes?
