  • I feel the wine industry has made it extremely confusing for wine drinkers who are confronted with dozens of stickers, logos and labels on wine bottles about ethical and sustainability practices Such as SIP, biodynamic, Organic, etc. etc.
I thought I would help the industry and fellow wine consumers out by filming episodes about these certifications starting with regenerative organic certification (ROC) and help answer the question of what is Regenerative Viniculture? For starters it’s all about rebuilding soil organic matter and restoring degraded soil biodiversity which results in both carbon drawdown and improving the water cycle. But I wanted to see first hand.
Fortunately, I got to follow the first Regenerative Organic Certified Winery in America, Tablas Creek winery & document Villa Creek Cellars journey to becoming ROC certified for their 2021 Vintage, showing first hand the regenerative applications applied through winter all the way through harvest. This Episode covers what happens during the winter months of a regenerative organic certified vineyard. Hope you enjoy the episode!

No snow in California but a lot of things they have to deal with during the winter. It was super cool to witness things I’ve never seen before.

Hi Saarthak, there's nothing too exciting happening in the winery during the winter! Harvest wraps up at the end of Fall and in the winter we're just waiting for the wines to finish secondary fermentation. There's a lot of waiting, cleaning, and moving barrels around. It's definitely a time of calm after the crazy harvest season. Future episodes will show you the more exciting seasons in the winery!

@@TablasCreek *Tablas Creeeeeeeek AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SGSFDGCHFH DH!!!!!!!!* I always loved to volunteer for cleaning the winery fermentation rooms and barrels whenever I got the chance in winter. Whenever I visited any winery I used to be bombarded with the amazing smell of the fresh grapes and fermented wines which gave me more dopamine than anything a person does to get one. Whenever I opened a barrel to clean or to stack up, I always thought how good would this wine be? How would it be if it was stored for a bit longer or what would've happened if it was more concentrated? And sometimes the winery owners gave me a tasting of each wine and I just can't tell you enough. Winter was my only time when I just write and write my journals only about wines. Jeff Bradford's journey helps me to learn more a thing or two about this industry which just makes me more curious about how many types of wine would be outside the world? How would they taste? How many can I get? Words are just not enough to express it. And I just can't wait enough to see more about you guys! Love you and your wine!

I’m old enough to understand regerative farming. I also know farming is a .gamble because you don’t control Mother Nature. This is a good series.
