    Bisi Bele Bhat
    Preparation time 15-20 minutes
    Cooking time 20-25 minutes
    Serve 2-4
    Ingredients
    For Cooking Rice
    2 cups Govind bhog rice, soaked (any short grain rice) गोविंद भोग चावल
    1 tbsp Peanuts, मूंगफली
    Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
    2 tsp Ghee, घी
    Water as required, पानी
    For Spice Mix
    1 tbsp Urad dal, उड़द दाल
    1 tbsp Chana dal, चना दाल
    2 tsp Ghee, घी
    ½ tbsp Cumin seeds, जीरा
    1 tbsp Coriander seeds, धनिया की बीज
    ½ tsp Fenugreek seeds, मेथी दाना
    5-6 no Cloves, लॉन्ग
    10-15 no. Black peppercorns, काली मिर्च के दाने
    ½ tbsp Poppy seeds, खसखस
    ½ tbsp White sesame seeds, तिल
    6-7 no. Green cardamom, हरी इलायची
    1 inch Cinnamon stick, दालचीनी
    A pinch of asafoetida, हींग
    ¼ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
    1 tsp Degi red chili powder, देगी लाल मिर्च पाउडर
    ¼ cup Desiccated coconut, नारीयल का बुराता
    Salt to taste, नमक स्वादअनुसार
    For Bisi Bele Baath
    1 tbsp Oil, तेल
    8-10 no. Shallots, peeled, सांबर प्याज
    A pinch of asafoetida, हींग
    few Curry leaves, करी पत्ते
    1-2 no. Dry red chillies, सुखी लाल मिर्च
    ¼ cup Carrot, diced, गाजर
    ¼ cup French beans, chopped, फ्रेंच बींस
    Water as required, पानी
    1 ½ cup Toor dal, boiled, उबली हुई तूर दाल
    ½ tsp Turmeric powder, हल्दी पाउडर
    2 tbsp Tamarind pulp, इमली का गूदा
    1 ½ tbsp Prepared spice mix, स्पाइस मिक्स
    ¼ cup Green peas, मटर
    Cooked rice, पके हुए चावल
    2 ½ tbsp Prepared Spice mix, तैयार किया हुआ स्पाइस मिक्स
    1 large Tomatoes, chopped, टमाटर
    Water as required, पानी
    Prepared Tadka, तैयार किया हुआ तड़का
    For Tadka
    2 tbsp Oil, तेल
    1 tsp Mustard seeds, सरसों
    6-7 Dry red chillies, सुखी लाल मिर्च
    10-12 Cashew nuts, काजू
    Process
    For Cooking Rice
    In a pressure cooker, add soaked rice, peanuts, salt to taste, ghee, water and cook it for 2-3 whistles.
    Keep it aside for further use.
    For Spice Mix
    In a pan, add urad dal, chana dal, ghee and saute for a minute.
    Add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, fenugreek seeds and toss it well.
    Add cloves, black peppercorns and stir it well.
    Add poppy seeds, sesame seeds, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, asafoetida, turmeric powder, degi red chili powder, desiccated coconut, salt to taste and cook it for a while on low flame.
    Transfer it to a grinder jar and grind it in a smooth spice mix/powder.
    Keep it aside for further use.
    For Bisi Bele Baath
    In a kadai, add oil, once it's hot, add shallots, asafoetida, curry leaves, dry red chillies, carrots, french beans, water and saute for 2-3 minutes.
    Add boiled toor dal, turmeric and cook for a minute.
    Add water as required, tamarind pulp, spice mix, green peas and cook it well.
    Add cooked rice and mix well. Add spice mix, tomatoes, water as required and cook it for 10-15 minutes.
    Add prepared tadka and mix well.
    Transfer it to a serving dish and garnish it with prepared tadka.
    Serve hot.
    For Tadka
    In a pan, add oil, once it's hot, add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
    Add dry red chillies, cashew nuts and saute until golden in colour.
    Keep it aside for further use.

    At most homes and weddings, traditionally onions are not used. Restaurants use onions. Bisi is hot, bele is dal, baath is rice. And its mysuru masalae dosay! Just a lil titbit. But glad you brought it here! Love your way of explaining and giving history of the dishes!!

    I am so glad that you chose the dish from my region(Mysuru), though mostly Bangalorean . I have to try it as I have never done it. It was so easily available in Bangalore that I never learnt many things to cook but here in Poland, I miss so much that I am a big fan of yours and whenever I want to try something, I just visit your video and copy the dish. I have two Victorinox knives. One I got 9 years ago from a friend from Switzerland and I love the knife so much that from the past 9 years, the only knife I have been using is that one and even today it is so sharp. I bought another one for our trips during summer.

    Sir no offence. But ek South Indian thele wala can serve better dosa than any North Indian big brand so that this.
