Wow, this video is exactly what I've been looking for. I've had my Chameleon hammock and Cedar Ridge underquilt for a year but never got the setup quite right. This shows me the final tricks. I'm a big fan of Dutchware!
Love my double chameleon set up! Laying in it right now. Sadly, I procured the last two CRO top quilts from Dutch. Gwen hooked me up. 😎 Wish they were still in business. Very good quilts!!!
That was good, helpful, and very interesting. You need to do more of these! Looks like I will be getting some quilt hangar hooks. I would like to this done with a 3/4 bottom quilt. I always have issues with the foot end Getting tangled up and such.
Hey Dutch, thanks for the video. I got my Cedar Ridge 20 degree UP under quilt yesterday for my Chameleon Hammock and this video really helped me out a lot. Merry Christmas Dutchware Gear and Cedar Ridge Outdoors.
All Chameleons should have 2 pack hooks in ever "corner" of the hammock. If you are unsure, please shoot us an email with some pictures and we can take a look for you.
great video. my only question is how do you snug up the cords while you are in the hammock? I made that mistake last weekend and got really cold. I must have had an air gap. thanks again for great video
I have a few UQs and always feel like there is not enough shock cord (too tight). Is there a best length of cordage for a standard Chameleon? Thanks, Dutch!
Many early under quilts were made for 10 foot hammocks. Quilts are made of different lengths so it is hard to come up with a fixed number. For a full length quilt, I usually have about 2 foot on either side.

Dutch is the MAN! Buy his stuff! His crew makes most everything. Great stuff.
An education in every episode. thanks
Thanks a lot! Finally I understand how this whole UQ idea is supposed to work :) I am trying to find a good model here in Europe.
Thank you!! Glad to help!
Try Lesovik from Poland. I have Otul Aur 420 underquilt.
@@z4p0tek Thanks for watching!
Wow Dutch... you make some astonishing beautiful and well thought out hammock gear. This is science.

Your tarp worms and wasps are genius
Thanks for the video. This is my first time trying colder weather hammock camping.
I’m curious how this all changes when trying to tie out the hammock out to stakes. Or for tying out the gear puches out to stakes.
That was very helpful. I always wondered how to take advantage of the hooks on the side of my chameleon.
Great demo. Merry Christmas!
Love the coffee bean print!
Thanks for the video, Dutch ... think I need some of those quilt hanger hooks now :D I use Hammock Gear quilts, but the principles are the same :)
Excellent demonstration! Very helpful! Thank you for sharing! Merry Christmas!

Did you get the reg width & length? 44 x 72 ? And did you feel it was ok for the dimensions ? Or did you think it needed to longer or wider ?
This is great nor if this please. I have quite a bit of experience in the chameleon but this was so helpful
Great job explaining!
Thank you very much. I'll try this way!
what if my hammock doesn't have clips for an underquilt can I still use an underquilt with it I have a quanfeng qf hammock with an integrated bug net
Yes you can!
Thank you.
My Chameleon only has one set of hooks / hangers on each end. What’s up with that?
Mine is the same.

спасибо большое
Thank you!!
The foot end didn't look like it was closed up all the way. Can you explain if that was just the camera angle or if there was still a small gap?
I saw that also. That did pull up all the way when I set the ridgeline quilt hook. I wish I had shown that in the vid after pulling it tight.

So the underquilt hooks WON'T hurt the bug net?
Why not make the underquilt water proof so no need to carry an extra underquilt protector.
Dutch, would using your new electric hammer make installing this quilt even easier?

Says he sleeps head right/feet left, adjusts the UQ for the complete opposite diagonal lay.
I saw I said that wrong too. Forgive me.
lighten up. from his perspective its exactly how he set it up.
I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong.
This is Hammock ASMR.
Sucks they are sold out Dutch
