My Amphi looks just like your dad's, same color............and I have splashed in from that very ramp too! Nice vid! Thank my fellow amphibious friend. Gary from Seekonk, MA!
So cool! Why aren't these being made anymore? I would love to own one. Also, how cool that you can leave the roof up and have heat on a cold day and still enjoy time on the water!
In 1983 I was looking to buy a four seater convertible car to restore. I had £400 to spend, it was a toss up between an Amphicar and a 3000 GT Crayford Capri, I chose the Crayford as i didn't like the props under the Amphicar, ,,,what a fool I was!
i wish i had the money for one but they are so expensive. i love how he drives in fast, thats awesome. in all the other vids people drive in like turtles. hahaha thanks!
Yes they are water tight! The doors have a lever which prevents any water from getting in. The car is also designed with hull to make it water tight. The only pump i can think of is a small one, which is only there as a precaution.
We just saw this car two weeks ago when we were in Meredith, NH. Still running strong 💪

i saw one of these just driving around once. a really cool sight.
that would make a comfortable fishing boat!
nothing better in this world than an amphicar in a new hampshire lake!
just need a cheeseburger and a coke and some frankie valli tunes...
I want one of these so bad
My dad owns one the trick is it has a flat bottom and a bilge plug so no water can get in or out at the end you dump water that got trough the cracks
That car would be great for flood-prone areas wherein flood levels can reach 20m.
I wonder if this is the car I saw drive into Weirs Beach this past summer 2014.
that looks fun!!!

Is this a 1967? They were made from '64 to '68, I believe -- about 35,000 of them total.
only 3,900
you can get a modern equivalent, I think its built in switzerland, VERY expensive tho
Great video, i made a short vid on these cars on my channel.
that house wasnt there before if it was correct me
You can do this with any car. You just have to type in SEAWAYS.
little do y'all know, is that these cars aren't water tight and rely on a pump to rid of the water that leaked in.

Can I buy your Amphicar???? I really want one!!!!!
sweeeeeet
I saw this at lake wuakewan
I'd have to guess that saltwater would be absolutely terrible for this type of car. Very cool clip though.
One just sold on Barrett Jackson for $40,000.
Just think, if Ted Kennedy had this car Mary Jo would be alive today
Mr. Bean anyone?
Heck With Car washes go in a lake
