Great to hear... im building this mentality up lately and need to just start pushing that momentum boulder forward... as Gary Vee says, dont get hung up on self judgment and just be consistent (i still suffer from inertia due to perfectionism tho...sucks!)
So true! It doesn't matter if you're not travelling or whatever. You can make going to the shopping centre (UK typing here! haha) or even going to the market, better and more exciting than vloggers who travel and think they need to do more extravagant things to vlog. I got a few on my channel, where I'm literally going to the apple store etc and been told they're more fun than people who go away on expensive trips etc just to vlog!

doesn't matter what time it is or what im doing, i can just sit down and be entertained by you, even if you arent doing anything "entertaining"
I don't vlog, and I don't want to pretend to be an expert, even though i've dabbled in vlogging, but what I think CAN help is to think about the kind of filming that you're doing. All vlogs are "documentaries" all of them are documenting what you want to be documented. And those that shoot documentaries don't ever have a script when they first start shooting, but what they do have are questions. And they find the answers to that question while they're shooting and talking to people. Perhaps the best thing you can do is not find ideas, but ask questions: questions that are as simple as, "What am I doing today?" "Who's coming to my house today" "who can I hang out with and what can we do together" A lot of vlogs are "Let's go to this particular place to get this particular item" and they document the variety of tiny challenges along the way like traffic or low gas or whatever. Around the holidays it's "Let's go home and spend time with family and show gifts" and stuff like that. So to answer the question, "What do I shoot?" the answer is a question, "What are you doing today?" or "What questions can you answer"

I love how Pete inspires everyone. I just got back from work and I have an hour to go walk the dog. After this I decided to grab my camera with just the 85mm and take it along. Not to vlog, as I don't do that. But to maybe, just maybe create an image of some sort.

I woke up this morning to snow on the ground and it made me grumpy and then watching you be all happy it's snowing and your b-roll made me want to head out and play in it.
I watched this about a week ago and it inspired me to stop putting this off and make something happen.
I was worried that even with 70k+ subscribers, no one would watch it or care. And guess what? They might still not! But I had fun making it and and glad to have it out in the world. The only way I'll get better at it is through practice.

I absolutely despise the cold and the snow, but in an effort to photograph more and be more creative, I embraced the snow last weekend and nabbed a few snowy pics. Watching your channel has helped me to start thinking in new ways and be a little more inspired.

I love this kind of vlogs where you show a little more about you out of the "work enviroment" . Love the advice! Honestly just what I needed to hear. As a new creator sometimes you don't know what to do because you don't have the fanciest equipment or the money to go travel and make amazing vlogs and you have to make due with what you have, which can be demotivating but this little push and insight to literally "Just Do It" and vlog about anything and practice is so freaking true, so thank you!

Yes! Sometimes those are the ones I get the most comments on! I find that adding great music to a not-so-great travel video can make it so much better.
Always do what you like! If you are going to create videos YOU need to have fun first. Cuz if you don't, then no one will. Trust me on this. I started of making car videos, but wasn't really feeling it, so I did a complete 360 from making car videos to making Vlogs. I had some people unsubscribe but I gained a lot of subs only because I truly enjoy what I am doing and people like my content. Don't do it for people, do it for yourself and the people WILL follow you! All the best man!

This resonates to me as an architecture student. i find myself sitting here some times thinking of what to draw or what to design and then end up doing nothing, rather than just doing ANYTHING and seeing where it takes you. once you start the ideas flow which allows you to change and adapt but if you never start in the first place you become stuck.

The advice is on point. I started last year but most videos were uploaded in private. Just tried out and practiced. I even practiced editing and did daily vlogging in Instagram Stories until I had the confidence to upload longer content in UA-cam.🚵🏽♂️📷🇵🇭
