The trumpet actually blends really well with the type of lead guitar sound that Frederik uses. Definitely something to consider for composers out there! Great stuff man.
not surprising if you know that Fredrik is heavily inspired by Holdsworth who in turn was heavily inspired by Sax players and their fluidity and tried to emulate that on guitar

Holy shit dude, that sounds so good. Meshuggah should do a show with a horn section (and maybe some strings) and make a DVD or something.
It would be such a trip to see Meshuggah live with horns! I'd also be slightly heartbroken if I wasn't part of said horn section 😂

What an absolutely great idea!!! Fredrik definitely needs to have more horns on his next solo album. Which I am beginning to think he has given up on. I think either the pressure has gotten to him, or his interest has just waned. Though imagine if he went for this metal jazz vibe more and upped the jazz orchestration aspects or whatever... The tone of the woodwinds and brass instruments with detuned guitars is just magic IMO. Add in other classical instruments and I think we will have something otherworldly... Almost 2024... I get the feeling we need to wait until 20'33' on March 3rd... for him to release it. Damn it, that's GOT TO BE THE REASON FOR THE DELAY!! 3.3.33.... FML!
