Stoked you said it bro - I headed straight to the comments to set you straight! 😂 I remember those steak and cheese pies in the Hastings site. Yuck as, but so good at the same time right!
favorite food creator on yt is adam ragusea, even though he doesn't really do food stuff much anymore. his completely scattershot approach of "do what works for you, idk i'm just some guy" is relatable and humble and definitely how i cook at home. keep in mind, i'm actually the head chef at a fancy restaurant so when i'm at home i don't want structure or recipe or anything like that. i want to fuck around and find out. adam's channel has taught me so much of the science behind it, the history of cooking, the farming and sourcing, all without ever feeling pretentious or like i need to go and cook a specific recipe that requires 40 ingredients
I think community is the perfect word to describe this channel and the viewership! I find the commenters to be positive and supportive and these videos are my absolute favorites. I love that you answer people’s questions and it feels like hanging out in a friend’s kitchen and just listening to the conversation. And I’ve watched every video since this channel launched which is the only time I’ve ever been able to say that 😊 Other food bloggers that I love include Tigga Mac, B Dylan Hollis, and Jeanelleats. (But Andy is still the best 😁)
Big fan of the casual feel to this channel as well as the very reasonable at home recipes. Lots of legit cooking channels out here but some recipes either have too many pricey ingredients you won't use all the time, or techniques that won't be quickly acquired and make the cook time much longer. I think you hit a really nice spot in the middle - good, honest cooking and good food.
J. Kenji Lopez-Alt is fantastic for not only showing you a wide variety of global dishes, but for explaining why techniques are important and the science behind the techniques.
Outside of Andy, favorite food creators are Marion Grasby and Abi Marquez. I found Marion in 2020, and decided to use all that extra time to learn some Asian cooking basics. Marion is also the most stylish UA-camr cooker who cooks so well she doesn’t spill any sauces on herself 😂 Adobo and lumpia are also some of the greatest gifts to mankind, so I love Abi and how energetic and funny she is.
Found Andy cooks about a month ago, and I'm so bloody hooked, such great content, and u can just tell is a top notch chef, and love this Sunday one, just finished the footy cracked a red and am tunning in.
Up early on a Sunday morning here in the very middle of Canada. Just had a major storm and enjoying my coffee with you guys before heading out to clean up some leaves and small branches that got blown down over night. Good start to a productive Sunday.
yoooo i been shouting y'all out all day every day for this channel lmaoo i love you guys!!! good to see y'all again. you know i never miss a back of house weekend!!!!😅❤
Prepping bread and butter pickles for bottling here in the States and binge watching all my favorite cooking channels. And i think vid three from you so far. Thanks for yet another perspective on how to up my cooking game!
Lately I've been a big fan of Arnietex, he's got some fantastic South Texas/North Mexican BBQ, grilling, and salsa recipes. The smoked carnitas is incredible, and his recipe for salsa macha got me working on integrating Mexican dried chiles (ancho, pasilla, morita, guajillo) into szechuan chili oil, mapo tofu, Korean dishes, etc... I've also been doing the inverse, putting more classicaly Chinese and Korean ingredients/techniques into more traditional Mexican foods. OTR Food and History has been another great channel, and has got me thinking of how different cultures use similar ingredients differently, and the more organically developed "fusion foods" that result.
Favorite creators are Joshua Weinstein, Sam the Cooking guy, Rick Bayless, and Ethan Chlebowski...There was a great Mexican Drive through called Naugles in southern California. It was good when I was a kid. We also had A&W restaurants (like the Rootbeer)
I love sorted food, Marion’s kitchen, pailins kitchen, chef jack ovens, food wishes, men with the pot, pro home cooks, and so many more. Would love to see what others say
Great video guys, love this format and channel. thanks for sharing! My tip (and Andy please don't take this as a criticism), follow Andy's method, but half way through the cooking time, lift the salmon up and add a shed load of thinly sliced garlic under the salmon, and when you turn it to finish, make sure the non skin side is nestled on the garlic. Don't add the garlic at the start or it'll be burnt. Andy and any viewers please feel free to comment politely and constructively critical as you see fit. Peace and ❤ to you all!
I look forward to trying this recipe. I always seem to fail at searing scallops. Maybe do a quickie version of that? I so appreciate Andy's calm demeanour.
It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here in New York & enjoying breakfast while watching “Back of the house!”…a few ingredients and look at the meal Andy created!….very realistic and do-able for the home cook! Thanks Andy 🤗🤗❤️❤️👌👌 I also watch Laura in the Kitchen, Brian Lagerstrom, Not another cooking show
Hey guys. Loved this laid back style video. One of my favourite food creators apart from Andycooks is Kush from Sorted Food. He is an absolute beast! Also the team at Fallow are top of the game. Thanks for the great content, peace!
Yes sizzlers are in the states. Mostly in California, a few even being revamped. Their cheese bread is nothing like it used to be though, but their other food is still ok food for the price.
Favourite food creator for me (other than Andy) is Claire Saffitz! Love her analytical approach to baking and she made me a regular bread baker in this house!
Oh, go on. Bring Maggie on. I've watched the cook and the chef series many times. To be honest, you guys fill the void for me. Love your work, love your energy ❤
My favourite food creator was Jock Zonfrillo despite his food UA-cam being relatively small he just got me really into cooking. Its really hard to pick because there are so many different styles. Joshua Weissman, Guga and James Makinson are probably my top three with Joshua just coming out top.
Joshua is dishonest and kind of a big ego with his staff always picking his food. it can't be that way ALL the time. he would be if he weren't that way. Guga gives me the creeps lmaoooo
Hi!:) I just wanted to answer your question in regards to who would be your 2nd hand best when cooking . Mine would be Emerril Lagasse. Have a great day!:)
Watching these episodes is now part of my Sunday evening routine, just such a relaxing and natural watch! My favourite food content creator outside Andy would probably be Guga or Max the Meat Guy… what can I say, I like steak and experiments!
If you like steak you should watch the chef POV videos on Fallows channel. And the guys at the SortedFood channel do a lot of BBQ. Love these hang out videos. They inspire us.
Omg if you did a video on re creating Sizzler classics id be attempting them so fast. My order is: Cheesy toast (ofc) and the Alfredo pasta 🍝. The pumpkin soup was a big slay too. Brownie points if you served them on a plastic tray for the authentic vibes.
@andy_cooks also a F1 fan. Which race if you could choose to watch live would you most want to go to? Mine would be Spa Francorchamps Belgium cheers mate love ya stuff!!
Zucchini with mint and lemon? Okay, I'll give it a try 😜 Very much looking forward to your knife video (perhaps dispel the belief only forged knives are needed). Anyways, time for breakfast here in Central Florida ☺️
Shakey's was the GREATEST!!!! Great episode...Love the salmon! I tend to like a bit more variance in my seasoning on the Salmon. Do you suggest anything other than just salt?
Fav Food creator Aussie= is Nagi! Been following her for maybe 6 years. Stoked when you recently collabed with her! OS=Bradley Robinson(Chuds bbq). He’s the whole package, interesting, creative, dog owner(his official taste tester ha ha), a little quirky and just looks like a TOP guy. Also makes multiple styles of bbq(chud box mainly), cooks multiple styles and is a meativore ha ha! Watched him for maybe 12 years. Safe travels to you all! PS I love Maggie also, would be blown away if she came in and you cooked her dinner! I still watch reruns of TCATC with Simon too lol
My favourite food creator after Andy is definitely Guga. From your comments about older TV chefs, Iain (Huey) is still doing content on UA-cam. His channel is just called Iain Hewitson. I have been watching Huey since I was a kid in the 1970's. He is a bloody legend. There are many more I loved who have sadly now passed away. Anyhow great video Andy, thank you. And I am still waiting for your piccalilli recipe ;)
Favorite old resteraunt that I miss "Armadillo" in Wellington. Loved the Hover Hog. Second favorite You Tube creators "Pasta Grammer" and "Sam the Cooking Guy". I would love to see a colab with you and Marion Grasby that would be fun
Make colabs on the main channel. This channel is super fun with just the two of you being you and talking. It’s chill and fun. The non scripted feeling is really good
Love these videos and your content in general!!!! Seeing y’alls videos brightens my week. Would love to know the brand for Andy’s black hoodie! Also, we need to know more about Andy’s “top secret” sneaker collection 😂😂😂 My favorite food creators right now, outside of Andy, are Ian Fujimoto, Ahmad Alzahabi, the team at Righteous Eats, Jonathan Kung, Jake Dryan, The Red Bowl, just to name a few.
Hey chef, regarding your question at the end. I enjoy watching James Makinson on you tube. I like his presentation style, food content and reaction videos. Would be great if you two could do a collaboration together. Really love your channel. I’ve tried a few of your recipes. Love from Scotland 😊
been trying to find sheet pans with wire racks that fit nicely like the ones Andy uses, but they don’t seem to be very common. Could someone please recommend a good spot to get them?
I do enjoy watching Akis Petretzikis on UA-cam. Much like yourself, he keeps it simple, it's an authentic style of cooking and he isn't pretentious (or as you may put it, it isn't "wanky" 🤣)
I found my love and got into cooking from Sam the cooking guy. His older longer content provided good honest food and hilarious content of him and his son behind the camera going back and forth
Kenji Lopez-Alt is a fave. Brad Leone is fun. Lucas Sin is always meticulous and informative about his Asian dishes and their history. Esther Choi is more of a youtube host these days but she sure can cook and of course Maggi Beer and Simon Bryant = )

Just realised its not Pie face (thats Australian) it was Georgie Pie!
haha was just about to comment this, aussies have given you the brain rot
Stoked you said it bro - I headed straight to the comments to set you straight! 😂 I remember those steak and cheese pies in the Hastings site. Yuck as, but so good at the same time right!
@@Jase.Napier Same!! The old Georgie Pie in Hastings is now BK.
I loved when the old Hamilton Georgie Pie lost the G. What a great time.
Also, McDonalds occasionally do pies in NZ.
Thanks for answering my question!!! ❤
I'm loving these Sunday evening uploads. I cook dinner, do my weekly meal prep for work then sit down, watch and learn.
Love this, thanks for joining us!

Crispy skin salmon was always my birthday dinner from my dad that went well into my 20s. You've brought back some good memories, chef!
I love this format so much that I don’t even understand 😂 it’s lunch time for me when these come out, and it has been such a treat of the day.❤
Loved this, as usual. Followed up with Chef Liz Haigh and the Father's day special. What a lovely calm way to spend any Sunday - thank you
Thank you for continuing these videos, helps so much to round out my weekend :)
Thank you for coming back and watching them each week!
J. Kenji Lopez-Alt is fantastic for not only showing you a wide variety of global dishes, but for explaining why techniques are important and the science behind the techniques.

We need a "Katelyn's wine corner" segment on the channel, where she takes about 5-10 mins to review wines. I think it would be a hit.
who is Katelyn? her name is Babe lol
LOVE your cook together videos

Staple Sunday reset, cook dinner, clean the kitchen and watch back of house
Love that!

Yes sizzlers are in the states. Mostly in California, a few even being revamped. Their cheese bread is nothing like it used to be though, but their other food is still ok food for the price.
My dear old Irish landlady from Belfast always told me that champ was an Irish dish.
Favourite food creator for me (other than Andy) is Claire Saffitz! Love her analytical approach to baking and she made me a regular bread baker in this house!
It's your shorts that had me like you and made me want to watch the longer versions.
I miss the new yorker in kings cross and the oceanic surry hills. Old school aussie diners
Oh, go on. Bring Maggie on.
I've watched the cook and the chef series many times. To be honest, you guys fill the void for me. Love your work, love your energy ❤

When you posted, it was just past midnight, early Sunday Morning. "Count-it". Also, happy Friday and thanks for the real life look at daily cooking.
Thanks for being here!

What size is the stock pot used in the video?
If you had to buy one stock pot, what size would you buy?
Love these style videos
How often do you guys eat takeaways? Often or do you prefer to cook it yourselves?
Hi!:) I just wanted to answer your question in regards to who would be your 2nd hand best when cooking . Mine would be Emerril Lagasse.
Have a great day!:)
Where do you get the oven trays that are paired with perfectly sized racks?? Can never find them, even at chefs hat!
Watching these episodes is now part of my Sunday evening routine, just such a relaxing and natural watch! My favourite food content creator outside Andy would probably be Guga or Max the Meat Guy… what can I say, I like steak and experiments!

Thanks for the recommendation!
Cooking with Shereen ... I love her! Great recipes, too!
My favorite comes down to two, Josh Weizmann or the lads at sorted
Love your videos! Much love from Melbourne. BTW where did you get that tiny dutch oven salt pot?
I think it's just a cheap one from a kitchen store or an op shop. Chef's hat might have some
@andy_cooks also a F1 fan. Which race if you could choose to watch live would you most want to go to? Mine would be Spa Francorchamps Belgium cheers mate love ya stuff!!

Very much looking forward to your knife video (perhaps dispel the belief only forged knives are needed).
Anyways, time for breakfast here in Central Florida ☺️
don't know whether it's the same down there but after a Sunday dinner there's always veg left so we just turn it into a mixed mash vegetables
Shakey's was the GREATEST!!!! Great episode...Love the salmon! I tend to like a bit more variance in my seasoning on the Salmon. Do you suggest anything other than just salt?
I think I'd like to see you hang with the guys at Sorted Foods for a couple of days. Do the 10 minute burger challenge at least.
Agree !!😊
How was the Strange Love The passionfruit? I can only find them in a 24 pack! I want to try it first.
What did you put on the courgettes out of the bottle? Thanks

I just bought them from Amazon
try getting in touch with the Sorted Food guys... they make great content... but they are in the UK
I do enjoy watching Akis Petretzikis on UA-cam. Much like yourself, he keeps it simple, it's an authentic style of cooking and he isn't pretentious (or as you may put it, it isn't "wanky" 🤣)
😆
Pie face is at the servo down the road, still exists
I found my love and got into cooking from Sam the cooking guy. His older longer content provided good honest food and hilarious content of him and his son behind the camera going back and forth
He’s one of my faces as well

11:07 Well we do have Lamington National Park on Brisbane's doorstep.
Ì Have friends from Australia and told me about Lemmings and made them and they were delicious 😋.
mmmm Lemmings. barbecued lol
Love these videos so much.
One of my favourite food creators HAS to be J. Kenji López-Alt because he has such a great knack for describing why things function the way they do.

I am hooked on "UK Masterchef - The Professionals" Any Series. Marcus Wareing is easy on the eye too lol
Favourite food creator that's not Andy Cooks? That's a tough one. But, if I have to choose, I love Alvin Zhou's cooking vlog channel (he also hosts Anything with Alvin on Babish Culinary Universe). He does these cinematic multi-day cooking projects that are definitely not practical for homecooking, but 100% satisfying to watch.
Favourite food creator other than you is a tie between Harry Fisher (Clown to Fork) and Alex (French Nerd Cooking). Can’t wait for the Knives epp. Not necessarily a knife nerd but need the tool to fit my stupidly large hands and can’t get a good feel with them until I use them for a period after purchase unfortunately 🤦♂️.
