- We're back home and Andy was inspired by our last meal and decided to make slow cooked chicken quesadillas at home. I'm drinking a medium bodied Spanish red because it's cold outside so that's what I'm craving.
Wine: Bodegas Pirineos 'Principio' Moristel, Spain

I love the real candid home cooking, the lack of perfection makes these vids so much better. Just relaxing making a feed and being real, it's so refreshing. The only problem is a lack of pet tax, would love to see them as well.
Definitely agree - more special appearances from the pups ! I really wanted to see them playing.
😆 ok ok more pups in the next video
LOVE THIS CHANNEL! the relaxed atmosphere, music, wine and chat - superb guys
You said it so well, I don't have to make a comment now lol
Glad you enjoy it!
My old man was once denied entry to a workers club because he was red and profusely sweating after having too much chilli in his lunch. He was over 60 years old at the time and the only one in the group not drinking. He always said how much he prefers hot English mustard...
The comment section on these videos are slowly becoming my place to share stories of my late father who was a chef his whole life... I should probably go to therapy.
Loving your work guys!
Look forward to watching these vids with my wife every Sunday.
Thanks for being here every Sunday
I really like when you eat on camera. It gives me the feeling like we are eating together.
Oh… a suggestion for the slow cooker… use a tea towel under the lid to absorb some of the moisture.
Just discovered your second channel. Love your content. Keep up the awesome work!
Always love watching the two of you 😊❤
Great video. One of my favorite UA-cam channels is cutting edge engineering... The repairs are mesmerizing. Love watching Kurtis and Karen from gold coast.
I LOVE this channel. Can’t get enough of the relaxing and real kinda cooking videos.
There was a question in the video about what food inspired you for future cooking.. so I invite Andy to explore the richness of Brazilian culture and cuisine. I bet Andy can get some good inspiration. Me as a Brazilian would LOVE to see Andy cooking the authentic Brazilian food.
Lovely to see you both cooking and enjoying what youve cooked...would love the recipe for slow cooked chicken when you are ready to share
Awesome job Chef just love your videos
love this format guys ❤
House & Garden (UK) has some amazing tours - really nicely filmed and post-produced with interviews of interesting creative owners ☺️ Really enjoy the wine breakdowns and recommendations of local places. Thanks for letting us into back of house!
I love cooking my dinner alongside you two on a sunday evening! If I time it right I sit down to eat as you two do=
Favourite non food channel is CEE, Cutting Edge Engineering, a couple with a machining shop south of Brisbane who repair heavy mining and road machine parts.
That is a good channel
Oh great shout out. CEE is a great little channel.
Love these videos, best way to wrap up a weekend ❤ FYI pork is actually 'cerdo' in Spanish. 'Al pastor' translates roughly to 'in the style of herdsman/shepherds' because they were originally made with lamb - definitely pork these days though!
Loved the outdoor kitchen. Favourite non food UA-cam channel would have to be Wildlings Sailing, just a guy on his own renovating a catamaran that has never been used and has just been left on the water in Amsterdam for 15 years. I think the reason is it's a small channel and you feel a good connection with him, so it's a little bit like Back of House.
Loving this channel guys. Don’t mind your eating at all.
Flying the nest is my favourite travelling channel #aussie fam
fantastic content, super relaxing!!!
growing up in austin, its hard to believe how much good food we have here and actually understand what we've got without taking advantage. Theres so many different cuisines and its a great thing to experience texmex as it happens
I use our Slow cooker for lamb shanks works really well.
Kicking back with a glass of scotch on a rainy Sunday evening, dinner is almost ready and watching you guys - happy days 😊
Favourite UA-cam channel aside from you, has to be "Scotty's Gone Walkabout" and "Sarah Rose Foster". Both showcase some of Australia's most beautiful locations in their own unique way.
Have a lovely week ahead guys and I look forward to next Sunday evening 😍
Meals in rainy weather are so calming and cosy
favourite channel non-food, no question - Sampson Boat Co.
Nice and cold and wet here in Perth too, don't feel alone. 😊 Love watching all kinds of travel shows like train trips of all things, also favourites like Mark Wiens and Daily Max; sport shows like Eggchasers and Inside Rugby with Mark and others; and the odd sipituality/ancient history shows.
The Thought Emporium- excellent science hacking channel. Also love your work- expat Kiwi of Dutch heritage here, so you remind me of so much of my life and family Andy- cracks me up every time you say "nyum"
My favourite UA-cam is Lost Lakes, it’s a very relaxing back country camping and canoeing in Canada (I’m Canadian) my husband and I love to watch together for the beautiful natural surroundings and interesting adventures.
Sunny coast is way more 'tropical' than it used to be. Still an amazing place to live (or visit family) but i'll happily stay in VIC. Nice work on the outdoor woodfire BBQ Andy. I'd love to see some 'local' dishes from Harry's or Spirit House to replicate at home. Cheers/Chur.
Glad you guys are back safely... can you do a segment on stocks, types and how to make pleeeeease.. love your work ❤❤❤
My favorite UA-cam channel outside of food is second thought. Also, one of my favorite TV shows at the moment is slow horses
I love having the Main Channel and this channel to watch. Both are 10/10
Suspicious Observers .
Love your work .
You have great ideas for the family cook , keeping it straight forward and full of flavour .
We do 90% of our protein cooking on the BBQ even in winter except my breakfast eggs
Cheers from NZ
Makes the cleanup a lot easier when using the BBQ. Enjoy your week!
Hahaha ,don’t give away all the tricks
Cheers
Favourite YT channel: Any of Simon Whistler's channels, he's a good public speaker and the expanse of subjects is good, too.
I enjoyed this. I love that you eat what you prepare. I missed sour cream with the quessadillas. Salsa and sour cream... Yum!
Favorite channel is Garden Answer. If you haven't watched Laura, you should. She will help you with your kitchen garden and anything else you plant. Amazing!
See y'all on Andy Cooks and have a great week!🤠👋🏻
The way she looks at Andy ! Reminds me of my initial phases of relationship, when I used to cook with my girlfriend in her kitchen. Keep it up guys.
I want you eating on camera. How you enjoy the food and your conversation. You bring the video full circle it's incomplete without you eating it and finishing it.
The butcher board, no plates done times. Comfortable and no pretense. Au natural.
Great show.
Back to basics castaways or b2b adventures are my favourite channels
OMG...love these segments, sipping🍷and eating yummies🤤 with you both💕 please always eat on camera😋🥂🤗🙏
Can’t believe I’ve just realised you have this channel too…. I’ve watched all the videos on Andy Cooks.
My favourite youtube channel that's not food related is probably Rick Beato's music channel with Produce Like A Pro (Warren Huart) and Rhett Shull's music channels a close second. I've made quesadilla in the past and should make some more soon as they are great winter comfort food 👍👍👍
Fave non-food channel is Geowizard
Are there Genre's that you like to watch for the TV recommendations?
I so want what your having now... Yum!!! Muza in Bali is my go to you tube channel, he's just a real guy showing what Bali has to offer and helping the locals with his Balidonate charity. Real soulful stuff. Tissues required for much of his content.
We really enjoy “Escape to rural France” on UA-cam.
Dan is good to watch! That roof will make a huge difference to how the chateau looks.
I love this format, its so relaxing to have on while working on the computer. My Fav other UA-cam Channel is Cutting Edge Engineering (another QLD base) He does repairs on bug construction equipment so very different. Its also released on a Friday and as I have Chemo on a Thursday its something nice to look forward to after feeling very ugh for a day
The cork pop was sooo good!!!!😁
Love that sound
I've been using my slow cooker a lot lately, it is summer here in the US and I live in the high mountain so 100/F and 15% humidity... very dry. I've been slow cooking some beef short ribs with some sliced onions and water filled just above the meat. 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low setting, super juicy, beautiful onion beef soup... we have a company here called Carnivore Crisps and they make beef flour (dehydrated salted beef, blended into powder), I add a tablespoon of that with the water and some salt. SO good!! Highly recommend :)
Andy and Katelyn! Still loving this channel and the informal content, just you being yourselves ❤
Slow cookers are great but not for everything. Please don't think I'm being critical as a I'm hopefully a decent home cook, but unlike you I'm not a chef, so you are way more talented than me. My tips for slow cookers for home cooks (just my personal opinion):
1. Add far less liquid than you would think you need as you get hardly any evaporation, especially if you're adding any veggies.
2. Great for low and slow cooking of tougher joint's of meat (i.e. rolled brisket, beef shin etc), just add in a few mm of stock/water/wine/port, garlic, onions, herbs, stock cube or whatever you like. The meat juices will add to the liquid. Once cooked, rest the meat, and use these delicious juices to make a lovely gravy.
3. Fantastic for pulled pork, but again follow tips for adding only a small amount of liquid.
4. Fantastic for any recipe involving minced meat (or ground meat depending on your termination as to where you are in the world). i.e. chillies, ragu, savoury mince and onions, Keema etc etc You can cook it for hours and hours and it'll only get better.
5. Not so good for stews as the meat turns stringy.
Please feel free to politely comment on my tips, and I'd be happy to hear any of your tips and tricks for slow cooker recipes!
🙂😋❤
Sitting on my porch enjoying my morning coffee watching Andy & Caitlyn “Back of the house”….great video, very nice and relaxing-love how Andy shows that using chicken breast in quesadilla can be done!👌👏❤️❤️
I watch a podcast called “The Pete and Sebastian show” often referred to as “The Cast”..it’s about 2 comedians (Pete Correale and Sebastian Maniscalco ) sharing their views anything and anyone!😂
Slow Cooker, Pressure Cooker, 17L pot and 2 cup Souper Cubes. Love them, makes eating healthy a lot easier. Portion up the large cooks into souper cubes, freeze, then remove from souper cubes and bag in x large clip seal bags. 4 portions in a bag. Meals ready to go when you don’t want to or can’t cook due to time.
I love getting quesadillas super crispy in olive oil and sprinkle the outside with salt. Just basic cheddar and chicken. Guacamole or salsa. Quickest easiest tasty meal
Love these videos! Favourite non-cooking channel would have to be mighty car mods.
Project Brupeg and Cutting Edge Engineering are my favourite non-food UA-cam Channels. Great vid!
Cheers guys, super hungry now!😁👍 Love this channel.
Favourite channels other than food....Nicki Positano, Sailing La Vagabond, Max and Occy, Jonna Jinton, Yes Theory....just to name a few!✌️
I’m a big geek, so my favorite channel is Always Believe. They love Star Wars, Disney, all things geeky fandom, and just encourage positivity in loving what you love.
Your content is great on both channels guys 👍, maybe review Aussie wines though as they are really some of the best in the world. Love the channel though, great work.
The traveling chefs are back home 😊
Happy to be home
I love the idea of making Quesadillas slowly like that.
Favourite UA-cam channel: The Dogist
Absolutely love real mechanics react at the moment, some really fun content. And Corridor Crew
as a shift worker that alarm gave me anxiety that i wasnt getting ready for work for a minute lol, love the video 😄😂
Yum.
I noticed the cooktop as you mentioned it. Gas FTW! It's tougher along with the other benefits.
I'm a gasfitter so I am a bit biased.
Where can you buy decent quality pre-made tortillas in south east Qld ? Bonus points for corn tortillas
Eat away, LOVE this channel. Some people go to church every Sunday, I watch Back of House. Daz.
Glad to have you here
@@andycooksbackofhouse ❤
Favourite UA-cam channel that isn’t food: Attaché.
Awesome, succinct and well produced explorations of interesting cities, not focussed on the tourist traps.
Watch the one on Chicago for a great intro.
Dan from NZ
Great video! I love how easy and effortless you make everything look!
Favourite non food channel would be Shedlife which I think is TJ & Mac
Other food one worth checking out if Fire to Fork!
See you next week!
Harry from Fire to Fork is a legend!
Tim Ho Wan..Hong Kong dumpling restaurant? Visited pre-Covid…amazing place…so cheap too..Love your shows guys. Thanks
Hmmm… other channels … Girl With The Dogs - she grooms dogs, cats and the occasional duck 😬 also Mountain Maple Ranch - a couple from Idaho (I think) who live off grid.
Favourite channel: Unbox Therapy
I really enjoy Kara and Nate, Sailing La Vagabond, and Kinging It!!
Fav non-food channel is "ogmios school of zen motoring" which is not about cars, more about functional cognitive behavioural therapy applied to London traffic - set to an ambient soundtrack. Obscure wind-down slow tv stuff.
Hey guys. I really enjoy watching Eric on his I Do Cars UA-cam channel. Great to see him dismantle engines that have had catastrophic failure. He’s informative and entertaining. You should check him out. All the best from Scotland 😊
another good sunday catch up, remember to rest after traveling it can knock you around
My favorite channel that's not food, is The Roads with Beau.
I love that you guys are now eating some of the meals on camera - it just adds to the cozy atmosphere of the channel! And that outdoor kitchen video was amazing; I really enjoyed seeing the entire day of meals prepared. My favorite non-food YT channels are Jacksepticeye and Markiplier. They are both gamers and I love their content.
Love this!!! Question for you, who's your favourite UA-cam cook? Whos the best cook and who surprised you with their skills? 😊
It is freezing down here in Melbourne! 🥶 Favourite channel has to be @karaandnate love a good travel vlog. Where can you get Mexican ingredients in Melbourne? Love your videos!
Tv show - shrinking very funny
And a UA-cam worth trying is Indigo Traveller.
I really like cooking Curries in my slow cooker, gives so long for all of the flavours to sink into the meat, and the meat is sooooo tender (which is great for me as I buy cheap meat)
I usually save these on Sunday to watch with dinner. Favorite UA-cam not cooking would be Sampson Boat Co. Followed by a bunch more sailing channels, followed by some building, followed by travel. I'm retired so I have time, lol.
Just made quesadillas last week. I don't do the fold over though. I do whole tortillas one on top the other and flip the entire thing, (I live on the edge - LOL). You should try the chicken with black beans and roasted corn instead of the Pico de Gallo. Really good that way.
To answer your UA-cam question: Vice Grip Garage
Question for next week: Andy, you are very nonchalant and relaxed about many things you use in your kitchen, ie knives, appliances, etc. what are some things that are are finicky about in your workspace?
Good to see the channel growing with this format. Very relaxing for Sunday in Australia.

Nothing like it, you do miss the accent after being away
Andy: did you just fart?
Me: good doggo
Vamos cabrones!!! I live in DF for a few years. You will be amazed at the diversity of flavors in Mexico City! Go!
Non-food channel would have to be Cutting Edge Engineering ... great stuff. TV series to watch would be Ted Lasso ... funny as. Also, discovered a great thickening agent for salsas and stuff ... a crushed up Weetbix. Thickens up fairly fast without altering the flavour. Love your channels.
I think the winter blues do be hitting hard in Australia 😅
My favourite UA-cam channel has to be Colin Furze.
Watching this at 0620 and now I want a chicken Quesadilla.
induction top looking like its changed to gas fukn love it
It’s wild to me that you guys are in winter. I’m in America and currently dealing with 100F temps. Regardless, love the videos, love the vibe
Great format. I like that you eat a proper amount of food 😂
