My First Day As A DoorDash Top Dasher

- My quest for a DoorDash 70% acceptance rate continues with my sights set on the Diamond Program and Top Dasher if I can withstand all the bad orders DoorDash throws my way. Hopefully the earnings are worth it once I get there.

my first day as top dasher... i was running my ass off!!! made 223.19 in 4 hrs...it was a nice day
What market are you in? That's almost impossible here in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.
@@recordsgeek LaCrosse wi
@@recordsgeek i live smack dab in the middle of 3 colleges
@dale20031 I live by college campus and people here are cheap ass mfs.
Lol @ 5:15 when DD told you “they are out of the delivery zone” DD HAS NO DELIVERY ZONE! I am constantly fed orders 12-17 miles away nightly.
I believe restaurants set their delivery ranges, but I don't think this house was outside of that. I think they just meant the customer stated the wrong address when ordering
My acceptance rate is at 93%. Yesterday I did 25 deliveries and made $267 in 8 hours active time. I accepted every single order and got only 1 non tipper out of the 25 deliveries.
You must be in a hotspot 😅
I’ve been doing dd for a week and haven’t made $100 in a day yet and I accept all orders
Those acceptance rate games are wild. I literally have a 12% acceptance rate and get identical orders that you were getting with a 77% acceptance rate. I’m in Snellville, Ga. So much better to dash and not worry about acceptance rate.
What's crazy I believe you I have 90 and get the same orders I think I know the algorithm it really depends on market, day, time throughout his dash I've noticed similar orders in that pay range and he's 16% less then mine lol like it's running off of A.I there's no dispatcher lol
I make the same amount in 6-8 hours at 30% AR as I do with AR above 50% lol. Seems like the higher pay orders trade off low tips for high mileage. So while you may seen a larger payout, the higher mileage wastes your time.
I made almost $600 a week on doordash along with making $800 a week with Uber multi-apping here in northern Mississippi, both with single digit acceptance rate lol.
It's an automated system. It's going to spit out the same low ball orders, whether you're at 10 or 50 percent. I haven't seen any difference, and I'm over 50 percent. They tell you that, to get you to take the crappy non tip orders that no one wants. Quite frankly, it's a bunch of crap.
In my area bro that’s not the case sadly. I’ve had below 50 AR and can sit in hot zones on busy days for minutes (10+) without orders. Once I got above 50, orders started coming in. In my area, the higher the AR the better order you get. I live in Texas
I’m in Lancaster PA, a pilot market for the new silver/gold/platinum Dasher Rewards Program. I was a slave to the acceptance rate. Achieved platinum and got into the LOP. I’ve since tanked my acceptance rating to 24% because I ain’t taking $2.00 7 miles. Glad to report I am still in the LOP. Perhaps after a month cycle I won’t be, but I’m done feeling like the AR is 👑

Jacob, I started with DoorDash in November 2022. I'm a Top Dasher. I'm persuaded that the only benefit of being a top dasher is that you can dash whenever you want to. You may see *more* orders than if you weren't a top dasher. But, I'm not convinced that you'll make more money.
I still see and reject a sizable number of trash orders every day.
I was over 50% a few days ago and I still saw the same about of bullshit No Tips Trips as I do when I'm in the 30-40% AR. I have a stable day job, I only do DD on the side but I'm struggling to see the benefits of taking everything just to get to a higher percentage and STILL see garbage orders lol.
I only want it because if I don’t have it I have to schedule delivery a week+ out.
@@Millbro82 Thank you! Seems everyone but you an I live in bigger cities and can dash anytime no matter what. In smaller places if we don't get top dasher, we get a full time job of looking at the app all day or at 3pm just to try and pick up a few trash hours on the schedule!
This motivates me. Thanks for the video. I have the stats I just need to make it until the end of this month to get top dasher. Right now I’m having to drive an hour away where I can get on the schedule. Looking forward to dashing near home.
Great update today Jacob! Nice to see you did extremely well! Last night was the best Tuesday in awhile I must say.... Had a $25 order going to troon north. Did not think I would get anything being way the heck out there, but got another $25 from hasan sushi or whatever its called off Pima. That one was going 10 miles, well over to the west side of cave creek north of Tatum lol. But what I did was flip on Uber x and I caught a $15 ride going back to Scottsdale LOL.... Talk about lucky... I did not do as good as you did, but $158 for 5 1/2 hours... was a decent Tuesday night.. Am anxious to see how long you stay at top dasher... if you keep making that kind of money, no reason to go back to cherry pickin lol..... Not sure how I went from 10% to 33% AR but I am at 33% now... Very weird.
Thanks for sharing this 👍
Great to see you as a top dasher🎉 how ever you should only dash during peak times 11-2 and 5 -8 to stop from getting bad orders and tanking your AR as I’m sure you know. When there are slow days your AR can’t really take a hit working non peaK hours
Yep, that's when you change mindset, turn on UE and go into cherry picking mode.
Or go home and be a human
That totally makes sense, but it's sad that working outside of those times wouldn't make the slow hours better
@@PhoenixDeliveries I really believe you'll make up for it based on what I'm seeing.
I'm interested in seeing your results over this month.
That is the opposite of how the ranking system works. You get priority when it is SLOW. During busy times there is no priority.
@@herpderp66 What do you base your claims on?
Priority happens all the time from what I've seen.
I once had a delivery where the drop-off address was the same as the restaurant.
After waiting 5 minutes for the customer to reply to my text, I placed the order in front of the restaurant, took a picture and left it there.
I know I could have taken the order afterwards but I felt it technically would have been stealing.
Dont forget you're a Top Dasher, you can always end your dash and start a new one in whatever zone you feel like it.
Thanks for making these videos to show us if it's worth it or not
I have found that when people live outside the delivery range, they try to scam their way into the delivery range. I had one order that was going to a somewhat distant town that was out of range. The customer used the address of a movie theater in route to their drop off and when I arrived, they let me know that they forgot to change the address. The movie theater was at the edge of where the restaurant delivery zone was.
The story is a little bit longer than that however, for the sake of time I ended up getting their food and being paid for the delivery people will try all sorts of tricks.
Yes, I've had this happen multiple times. It's so annoying that the customers would try to take advantage of us. Maybe they just think they are hurting DoorDash, but it hurts the driver, the restaurant and DoorDash when they do this
@@PhoenixDeliveries overall I was paid decently for the order I was referencing, however, this was way back when I first started doing delivery. I was trying to make sure the customer got their order.
Now, whenever there is these sorts of games, I don’t even bother. I let the customer know to call Doordash. And I don’t feel as much compulsion to go out of my way as I used to, as this has never worked out for me in the past. Customers would promise cash only to ignore me upon arrival even though I drove an extra 5 miles.
End by decently above, I mean OK but not what I hope for or shoot for.
Wow great day…love the videos and journey. 6->76!
Keep up the good work!
That is pretty good.
I have a catering bag and I think I'm part of the large order program, but I have not gotten any orders in my area that need it.
Yesterday was the first day that I ever saw an order guarantee pay of $56.00. Mind you, it was a shopping order for ALDI's and the item count was 109 items. So it was a hefty order.
You could message with support and ask them if you are in the program. They may or may not give you a straight answer
It’s crazy people actually do this day in and day out lol I know you’re just making content and testing it, but other dashers really take bad orders and essentially lose money just to have “priority”. Once in a while you’ll get an amazing order but I feel like the sheer amount of bad orders you have to take to maintain your AR heavily outweighs the good. Guys, if you want to make money, cherry pick on DD and UE and multi-app when it lines up, it’s that simple. You’re time is the most valuable thing and as long as you care about your AR you’re losing time, money, driving more miles, you’re sanity lol, etc.
Is it easy to do both Uber eats and doordash at the same time. Do you just switch from DD to Uber when it gets slow. Does Uber ears have an AR too? I’m very curious
@@Dunn7345 UE is the best and only true gig/dashing app. No zones, no scheduling, no stats, as in you don’t have to worry about any metrics. There’s no BS tier system, acceptance rate doing matter, I’m at a solid 4% atm lol They don’t even care about unassigning, you can cancel any order at anytime for any reason.
You just click “GO” and deliver, you can go anywhere and the orders are just better overall, higher paying and higher tips. No CVs for stupid things etc, it’s the by farrrrrr the best.
@@Dunn7345I do them both at the same time. When I accept an order on one, I pause orders on the other one. After I make the delivery, I restart both of them.
Thanks for being to informative.
Great day! If you keep this up you might change my mind about trying for TD!
Its heavily based on your market and make sure you dont go broke and destroy your car with all the garbage orders you have to take the last week of the current month before becoming a TD the following month.
If I start to have really high earnings, remember that I had high earnings in my area while my AR was at 5% too
What I noticed is that you got very few $3-$5 orders. You got a few but not nearly the bunches dashers get sometimes.
@@PhoenixDeliveries But that was mostly because of UE😜
No way, you’re at the Barros in my hood 😂 maybe I’ll run into you someday while dashing!
Got .40 cent tip today worse than getting nothing and refused 33 item order from Walmart still loving Dooordash
Yesterday I got a $22.31 (nothing hidden) for 10.5 miles yesterday on Doordash. My AR is around 11 % currently. The SanTanVillage Costco was Orange but they were all bad orders lol. The 10.5 miles took me maybe 2 miles away from the Costco near Baseline & AZ-87.
It's interesting that DoorDash has stopped hiding tips unless it's a diamond order haha
@@PhoenixDeliveries The $6.50 low miles has turned into just that lol. Awhile back those easily turned into $8 low miles etc.
In Santa Fe they have an independent delivery service with employees called Dashing Delivery. It was interesting to see them among other people that were working the gig apps.
I wonder if more independent services will start popping up
Many cities have restaurant co-op delivery services. They got sick of DD charging the restaurant 35% of the order. Sadly it is only viable for large cities.
I would get my acceptance rate higher but in my area I will get 2 orders 5 times and both will be 10 miles and $2
They got rid of top dasher in my area without notice. I'm screwed for the week because the new tier system degrades you per day you don't do deliveries. I didn't make a schedule so I'm screwed for the whole week. I need one more delivery to get dash anytime but tomorrow I degrade by 7 dashes and only got an hour shift. The next day I degrade 8 dashes and had no time available. The day after that I degrade another ten dashes and only got 4 hour shift.
U deserve to be rewarded with an epic dash!
I have tried to learn but i'm curious, If you are already dashing and peak pay comes along. Do they aoutomatically switch you to that? Or did you kinda sort of "lock in"
Does having a catering bag help get more orders? I got regular red bag, pizza bag, and red card, should I get a catering bag?
Not a bad day! Have to hustle to keep top dasher
Definitely!
My AR is 80% and no orders over 6.00 for 2 months now. I think this channel is just for entertainment only. He is a good presenter. Numbers dont seem to be what actual reality is while on the door dash platform.
U dashing in wrong market
Guaranteed your market either isn't that good like with premium restaurants or way too many dashers dashing at the same time
@@Dawgdasher its the only market available in my area. School startinh soon hopefully will get better.
@@officialtrep6286 Saturation is real here. Currently have Door Dash on ghost pause. I only do it till i get a bad order then turn it off. Thats why i am gaining am now at 81%. Last two days have been bad orders. So i am Using Uber mainley. This high AR for better orders is just not true where i am. I am seeing this on other gig tuber channels to be the same also.
I live on an island. So I generally get good tips, and I only am going to drive so far. Lol. Thankfully.
I am new to dashing, but I got a catering order for 28 dollars and it asked me in the app do I have a catering bag and selected no. Later after receiving the catering order it was 22 minutes out of my zone that i ussually report to, but with in minutes it gave me a job for 7 bucks to drop off a panera bread package near by. At the end of the day with all my runs I got 176 dollars for working less than 7.4 hrs etc... I been dashing only 4 days and learning to reject bad orders. learning to rezone etc
Make sure you put something on your seat so that the grease from food doesn't stain your seat.
O i did, earn per hour was killing it up in Michigan, they gave me orders with higher tips. Made top dasher it all stayed the same lol. I make no more money do far then i typically do.
I think I may increase my acceptance rate on DD now that the rewards program has rolled out to my market. Since the LOP is factored into Platinum status, I actually feel compelled to raise my rate for once. The closest I ever got from accepting good orders was 46%
It’s in your market? What city are u in?

You can usually expect this daily with LOP and Top dasher status in az market :)
I'm excited to try it out
I’m always a top dasher. Dashing for 2 1/2 years. AR is 90%.. been as low as 60% and my calls never exceed 8.00 . I’ll maybe see 2 at the 8.00, the rest of the day the calls are 2.00-6.00 calls. I don’t understand . My daughter can make 300-400 in two days only working 4-5hrs and she been dashing maybe 7-8 months. I have to work two weeks 8 hrs a day and can’t make that.
I always see high pay orders when my dash is ending
I'm still waiting for confirmation here. They told me it would take up to the 4th as they are reviewing all dashers for the month of July. I had 70% AR, but what they see differs than what the drivers stats are. I took a screenshot with the timestamp on it.
0:50 - I never seen that before.
The pictures of the menu is kinda new, but I've been seeing it a lot lately
I was getting ready to say when you are out of the zone you came from end the dash and either start in the new zone or end it and Deadhead be ack to your hotspot
It's a huge benefit now that I can switch zones whenever I want
How am I supposed to achieve a top dasher position if it's now letting me dash now?
It seems like customer service is pretty reasonable when you do have an issue.
Just wait till you get an petco order for 10 different orders and driving 60+ miles. Decline that one dropped my acceptance rate from 75 to 65. No tip dasher for August now.
That's brutal. I might just have to accept something like that to maintain the acceptance rate
@@PhoenixDeliveries technically it was 19 declines. Got a petco order for 9 orders 55 miles. I declined it and tried to pause. Then got the 10 order one. So was 19 declines. I should have just taken the order and sucked it up. Unfortunately the petco orders never tip so each stop is just the delivery fee. So making 3 dollars per order. Edit. And also you can’t use the accept decline thing on it. It counts as 9-10 separate orders. So you would burn 9-10 unassigns.
@@PhoenixDeliveries I just wish I would never see a petco order ever again. I declined it because I took one before and it was a similar deal. 8 orders. No tips made like 24 dollars in a few hours. Carrying 50lb bags of dog food up flights of stairs.
Thats not the case in my town in Madison Wisconsin if im making 0ne dollars per mile im hapy
I got a 75 acceptance rate the restarted me yesterday and I can't dash now anytime like u
Did you have 200 lifetime and 100 deliveries in past month?
You need to meet all these requirements
Customer rating of at least 4.7
Acceptance rate of at least 70%
Completion rate of at least 95%
100 completed deliveries during the last month
At least 200 lifetime deliveries completed
If you miss any of these you will not be a Top Daher. If you met them all, sometimes it can take a Day or 2 see Top Dasher status.
Do not go by DD numbers on how many lifetime deliveries you did by just adding 100 from previous month as DD sometimes adds 2 deliveries for one. Anyway go to earnings tab and add up all deliveries you did for the month and make sure it adds up to at least 100. I found DD lifetime deliveries for mine was off by about 8 +8 deliveries. Meaning if I had gone by their lifetime delivery counts DD would have shown I did 100 when actually I would have done 92 and then not qualifying me for Top dasher.
I always wondered how dashers would work if they couldn't refuse work?
Top Dasher is only good in areas where you know the Schedules will never open around that time but you know you can make more with Top Dasher because the town is small etc.
Makes sense!
I had a 62% rate when I went out in the morning took all 5 orders no of them were a diamond order and only went up to 64%. Dd scams with this high paying program I made 27 on dd and 16 on Uber in two and a half hrs.
Your acceptance rates only increasing 2% is because you had multiple accepted orders fall off of your most recent 100 offers
I declined 9 in a row today. It felt good 🙂
What app are you using to track mileage?
My head!
Don't let anyone bs you I've been a top dasher for more than 30 months now and there is only one advantage u can dash whenever you want but you will not get bigger orders and you will not get more orders absolutely Will Not and that's the 100percent Truth
Horrible orders. I the only benefit of Top Trasher is not scheduling
It's a pretty nice perk, not gonna lie
I like being a top dasher. Who would schedule??
Haha now I don't have to and I think it's great
How are you in the catering program? If you are just now a top dasher.
I made a video about it. Just search my name and "large order program" and it should pop up
@JacobWarren1 ok thanks . Love your videos. Very helpful
It does not require a high AR or to be a top dasher. I was invited when my AR was only 23%, You completion rate has to be over 95%
Here are the requirements to be invited to LOP/catering
200+ lifetime deliveries
100+ deliveries in the past month
4.7+ average star rating in the past month
95%+ completion rate in the past month
Notice AR is not a factor. At this point you will need an invite from DD by email. If they have enough drivers already enrolled, you will not get one. Once you do, DD will send you a link to buy their catering bag for 75% off and comes out to $10. Once you get it, you are then qualified for catering orders.
Now the LOP/catering will be gone when DD rolls out the tiers silver, gold and platinum programs.
Anyone in Platinum tier will be eligible for catering orders.
Platinum requirements:
4.7 customer rating
70% and above AR
95% and above completion rate
50+ lifetime and 100 Deliveries in the last rolling 30 days
From DD site, stats for all tiers:
Silver 50% AR 90% CR 4.5 - Lifetime deliveries completed 50+
Gold 70% AR 90% CD 4.5 - Lifetime deliveries completed 50+
Platinum 70% AR 95% CR 4.7 - Deliveries in the last "ROLLING" 30 days
Note the "ROLLING 100" in last 30 days as opposed to 100+ that it used to be "PER month" changes.
You will need to do at least 25 orders per week to keep Platinum. Good thing is if you do fall below, once you meet the requirements' again you are automatically back on. Where as now for catering if you do not meet requirements for the month you can be removed and will need another invite to get back on.
Hope that helps, good luck.
Yes I’m really surprised at the amount of times how many times the customer tries to cheat you
Most people who says AR don't matter or top dasher is a scam, never been at Top Dasher before. Let them stay at the bottom and get all the garbage orders while we get all the good orders. When a LOP or good order comes in, people with high AR will get it first unless they are busy. You see less crap orders being up here. All the crap orders tend to go to people with low AR first. Although we still get some bad orders, you can cherry pick as Top Dasher. Be picky when you're over 80%+ ($2+ per mi only)we deserve that., be less picky when you're low 70% to stay Top Dasher. Less picky as in $1.5 per mi is okay.
I hate it when they send you outside your zone but won't let you work in the zone, they send you to. Or they send you to a terrible neighborhood. That's why I'm at 47%
How do you know they won’t let you work there? I haven’t had any alerts telling me it was off limits. And I started Saturday.
@@Servant_of_Yeshua96 Let me rephrase that. You won't get orders in the zone you're not scheduled to be in unless they give you the option to switch zones.
You shouldn't have to shop for someone else on doordash or any delivery that should already be done. I would not to groceries.
That's cool but I still dont see anything worth the misery of trying to become a top dasher. $5.25 for 3 miles and $6.50 for 1.5 miles are "high paying"? lol. I can get any of these orders cherry picking on UE, and I often do. I can even get that $18.50 for 7.9 miles and I dont have to stress and feel forced into taking trash orders just to keep my AR above a certain percentage and I dont have to mess with huge catering orders. If I wanted to drive catering orders, I would work for a catering service and make better money while not having to accept garbage orders in between. Not worth it IMO but interested to see how it goes for you.
The lowering paying "high" orders are kinda annoying, but at least there's some really good ones too
Ur everywhere
Door dash always win even you cherry picking 🍒. To all dasher remember if you take stacks order, door dash took $2 to $3 each stack order. I have over 20k deliveries
Let’s go
Let's see how Top Dasher goes!
Oh my God I had to wait in the restaurant for 6 or 7 minutes for an order. What will you do with your life
Probably quit DoorDash
@@PhoenixDeliveries good, at least you will stop making these whiny ass videos
If you're taking bad orders to make a certain AR, then you might as well go for the 90% level and stay there for a while just to see what happens. Just decide in advance to take every order until you get there, which would take less than a week. Then you'll KNOW what happens.
Is there a new diamond level at 90%? I haven't seen any info about that on the DoorDash website
@@PhoenixDeliveriesThere isn’t
@@PhoenixDeliveriesI have been highest at 86% ( AR changes green at 80%) and it seems to be a little better, but it also gives you a chance to cherry pick for awhile. Which can be really beneficial during dinner time.
@@vikings7683 People love spreading misinformation. There’s 2 tiers, 50% and 70%, that is all. There’s no change or “better orders” if you’re at 90 or even 100%. Same thing with ratings, as long as you have a 4.5 or higher, it doesn’t matter what you’re rating is and doesn’t mean anything lol
Do you hear yourself actually verbalizing the manipulation by DD? Why should drivers have to go through that? That’s wild!
U cant be serious. Bro says its a experiment every video.
I am serious and you’re misunderstanding. It’s NOT about Jacob. It’s about the THOUGHT PROCESS that drivers actually have to go through unless they are accepting damn near every order they are sent. Surely you’re aware that DD INTENTIONALLY creates this situation through a process known as gamification. It’s not new and it works. I’m clearly aware of what Jacob is doing. It caught my ear to hear the thought process verbalized and how real the manipulation is/can be.
Top dasher the way I see it is you are picking up the bottom of the barrel orders with insane miles and menial to zero tips. If all dashers rejected them the orders would sit and DD would lose money forcing them to pay drivers higher rates so customers arent pressured to tip on top of exorbitant fees. See how that works.
Your getting played hard😅..I had a 24 dollar order yesterday 5 miles don't let door dash use you as a slave 😢
Stop doing that for bad doordash customers it only takes a week to get 100 deliveries use the first three weeks to cherry pick only the best orders high pay is a lie it looks like 8 shopping items for 6 bucks here smh
Yeah my market has this like top dasher for a week if you do 13 shopping orders so if I want top dasher I just do that and do good paying shopping orders. So I get top dasher for a week with like a 4% Apr and still get good paying order 😂 also I’ve gotten tipped extra like 5 times from shopping orders after completion
you must have eaten a lot of crow to get to that status, countless of no tip orders, a lot of wasted time.....
Yep looks like you're benefiting now 😂... I will forever be in the 40% acceptance range, no matter how hard I try I just can't get any higher, I'm certainly not working for free for doordash, they could care less if you lived or died, always someone around the corner willing to pick up the pieces, they don't appreciate anything so I have to adapt to that concept as well regarding doordash
Yo yo yo
What's up!
First 😂
Thanks for the support!
Looks like you're still cherry picking to me
Have more respect for yourself..don't let door dash use you😂
Doordash is like a drug dealer they give you all the good stuff in the beginning then in a few months your going to get the trash.

I have been too dasher since October of last year up until last month (I should have been because I hit every qualification like always). However I wasn’t and I let it slide! This month I took a screenshot and I know I definitely hit all the marks!! Still not top dasher so I called dasher support and their numbers were COMPLETELY OFF!! On their end it reflects that I have completed 6404 lifetime deliveries on mine it shows 6939. That’s 535 order unaccounted for!! My dasher rating was 4.76 they said it was 4.66 which is why I didn’t qualify for top dasher.
