Galveston had an unfortunate Bubonic Plague Outbreak in 1920 and had an all-out war against rodents on Galveston Island.

Great video and information! Imagine if efforts would not have been put in place to eradicate this problem, Galveston would have faced greater numbers with those affected by the Bubonic Plague.

Thats why y'all see Hawks around the island everywhere.
They eat rats, and mice.
Much like the old lady who swallowed the fly, we have feral cats who manage the rats; now coyotes have shown up to deal with the cats. I'm a little concerned about what the coyotes may attract.
Coyotes have been here a very long time. If they were going to bring something, I would think they would have already have brought it

Life isn't always about iced cupcakes or lemon merengue pie, sometimes it has a diseased, flea-infected rat to deal with.
