Great informative video. You do your historic homework. Unfortunately on Dec. 5th 1995 while wading at Sea Isle I found a naked male floater. My fishing was over that day. Turns out, someone’s husband got home early and this man had to run. This is from first responders. Bad weekend
I wondered when you would get around to doing a podcast on the Beach Patrol. It looks like this comes from someone who knows what they are talking about! Lots of great information! Plus, that swimming technique that was demonstrated by that lifeguard during the night swim segment! WOW! Where did that come from? He looks like Michael Phelps out there! This one rates an A+++!
That's why when I go out to the beach in Galveston.I don't really get into the water because.I'm not strong enough to get myself out of the rip current if I was to caught by it so I just usually sit on the beach
Great video, J.R.! Unfortunately, even with all the precautions and warnings in place, people needlessly drown each year, and it seems in most cases because they went out in Gulf in places where and when they shouldn't have been. This is very timely with the tropical system in the southern Gulf . . . people just need to stay out of the water right now.

Happens too often, for sure.

May I recommend if you wade fish the surf. Purchase a scuba emergency vest. It is equipped with a CO2 cartridge. It will save your life.
