I know this is 4yrs old and I am just seeing it. Having become plantbased with lots of food sensitivities, 0ne of which is wheat, I truly appreciate this video. I've seen others but this one resonates with me. Thank you chef Fox🙏🏽
Fantastic. I'm vegan, gluten intolerant blah blah. I made the lentil mix and using the same techniques, used mung beans. Just as great. Waffle iron with plant based "cheese" aka "plastic cheese" for a warm healthy snack. Putting this content out there is a blessing to us, so many thanks to you.
Glad you like the flip technique, I was showed when I was just a boy and as you can see over the years the flipping has got better but I always remembered that simple flip so just paying it forward
Love these pancakes. I add some vegan cheese and spices let them cook and flip just to get the cheese complete melted, just a few seconds. Then fill with avocado, or sprouts, or cut up kale. Sooo yummy! Also do the last three table spoons with some cacao powder. When finish cooking splash some almond butter on, cut up some slices of banana, drizzle a bit honey and sprinkle some hemp-hearts, chia seed and ground flaxseed. Oh so yum! I have these lentils bread, pancakes what ever every day. No bread but lentils. Thanks for sharing this video will try your suggestions now.
My daughter and husband would surely love to have these than their usual bread or pancakes, and they need not worry about gaining weight while eating more. Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm blown away right now! I can finally make all these things and then you added chips too! Blown away! Thank you!!!!!! This is one of the most exciting/inspiring/information-dense videos I've seen in a while. Very very helpful! I think I need to build an outdoor oven this spring and cook all kinds of lentil breads and crusts. This is going to be amazing!
Really happy you like the videos. The flatbread recipe 1 cup lentil 2 cups water is sooo versatile. It can be flavoured so many way with either spice or sweet ingredients thats why I love it so much. The chips made with gram flour(chickpea flour) is one of my favourites. my fav is adding marmite to the water first (if you like marmite) then you get a really lovely savoury chip. the other thing I love to make is Burmese tofu which is better than shop bough tofu which is made from soy bean. The Burmese tofu is made with chickpea flour. my recipe (not yet on video) is 250g chickpea flour 1 3/4 cup water 1/4 teaspoon turmeric 1/4 teaspoon salt Any other flavours like Garam masala or onion powder/garlic powder…flavour to taste If you like tofu then this goes well in salads or even a vegan bologneese. (cubed tofu instead of spaghetti then green lentil bologneese sauce)
Johnny fox your show is phenomenal! I am from America so I am very much enjoying your accent and take on such common essential foods us Westerners I have forgotten about. I hope your show explodes in viewers! Good luck to you sir
I did it!! Your teaching helped!! I'm excited! I'm still waiting for the second side to finish!! 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 Ok. I waited! Made plain ones! It's a WIN!! Now I will try the other seasonings/flavors!! Thank you again!! Sharing this with friends!!
Glad you like the recipe. Its old by good and the choices are endless for flavour ...not just the 5 I did...take a look at banana flatbread too you'll see what I mean.:)
You are awesome! Thank you for sharing this with us. I was watching you and following your instructions. I love them all especially the garlic one with Nigel seeds! 💕 Greetings from NC, U.S.A.
Love using lentils for baking so this is right up my alley! 🌻 Will try the lentil crisps and to mix in a packet of cheese dip mix, because my favourite nacho cheese crisps are a whopping 57 points per bag 🙈
Sir, you are an absolute genius! I have bought red lentils and I fell in love with it two months ago. Looking for protein healthy substitute, puree etc. I usually do similar stuff with oats but I got tired of it! These pizza dough, pancakes and the outstanding crisps you blew me out of my socks with that crisps! haha! Not only you saved my budget but cut all that unhealthy flour etc. and btw, we actually have the same pizza tray... All the best wishes for Christmas and New Year 2021! Greetings from north Adriatic coast of Croatia! :-)))
Thankyou for your lovely comments, with the lentil mix you make so many other things too jsut add different flavours to make it different ie: lentil banana flatbread...there is a video there too...also instead of flour you can much the same with chickpea too just a lot more time soaking... i usually part cook them. hope you have a greta christmas and new year 2021
Glad you like the recipe, I also make lentil rolls too but havent posted a video but someone else does pretty much the same here ua-cam.com/video/eRpgbV022Eo/v-deo.html
My good sir, I cannot stop commenting :-) the little bread you made it could go for a rum anything savory all the way to Sweet! AMC glad I found your channel
I am so glad your video popped up this evening. I tried this once. Watching your video, now I know my hest was too high and ...... wait for it!! Ohmygollllyy ..... thank you deary for this ....... and the pizza and crackers!! I'm soaking lentils right now. Can't wait to get up and cook up a few!! Hugs!! Big hugs from Spotsylvania, Virginia, USA!
Glad you like them. The possibilities seem to be endless too. This is just 5 recipes. Basically use the 1 part lentil and 2 part water and soak then add whatever you like to flavour them. Take a look at the Banana lentil flatbread vid, you'll see what I mean....Ive even made apple stroodle using cooked apples then cooked them the same and OMG they are so moist and apple bread is soooo tasty and moist and super healthy. Packed with protein and vit's
I am looking forward to next month as I will be re-visiting the red lentil mix to add a another recipe. It is the same mix of lentil and water but I'm adding in quite a few more ingredients to make it a really tasty evening snack......should be ready to publish early August.
Hello, tried recipe, thank you. Tried to cook in pan too quickly. Bit too doughy. Had nuther go and added spices and let them cook much longer as u said. Perfect result. Thank you
Garlic bread--how great is that?! I'll be making cheese crisps now for sure, too. I started making plain lentil bread a few months ago and it's the greatest thing since sliced bread...better for me though!
Glad you like it. as I said on the video the permitations with the lentil mix is almost endless. I have been working again with the same mix and the new video with this mix will be red lentil veggie bites. I've got it just the way I like it and will be running a video on it soon.
Good vid, thank you. I'm wondering if this recipe gets better for 2-3 day lentil soak, certainly the nutritional content will improve. Red lentils are said to be one of the foods that someone could healthy live on, if that's all they ate. I don't see how that's possible without adequate oil content, but I do not doubt lentil's healthy effect on the body.... it's very nourishing to the spleen, which often takes a beating with traditional food sources.
Comon no you can find it. the possibilities are endless with this mix...1 cup lentil 2 cups water then keep adding different things to turn it into whatever you like.dried fruits like sultanas, currents, dates etc for sweet dishes, savoury flavours for diferent dishes and you can see a few more from the video...good luck with it and thanks for the comment
yes you can. if you use chickpea flour they are really hard and crispy like my other video but if you soak them overnight like the lentil one they are a softer crisp but does the same as lentins
i hope you can show us how to use standard spices instead of pre made products. those sauces you recommended are not available where i live. i love your videos
I was not aware the skinny food sauces were not available in your area, however basically they are zero calorie sauces so you might have luck searching your own area for an equivalent..and thank you for the great comment
He said he had a video on a home made curry spice mix, but you could just add 1/4 teaspoon each of ground cumin, coriander, chili powder. Maybe turmeric, some kasoori methi.... Darn. I'm going to have to make this. :)
🇨🇦, hello from Toronto , very happy to have seen your video,,I like your style of explaining ,. will most certainly try your recipes . Always have Masur Dal in the pantry 🙏🤗
tinned lentils will not work as they will be cooked and will not bind the same as uncooked. It will loook almost the same but will not hold together...hope that helps
if you put them in air tight container then mine usually last 3-4 days before they start to taste like going off. fortunately mine never seem to last more than 2 days
Glad you like the video. The two main ingredients Lentil and water can be adapted for countless different recipes, this was just 5 ways to adapt the mix. you can add almost any other ingredients and change it. Have a play and let me know how you get on :)
You can give them a quick rinse if you like but I just tip into pot and add water then leave to soak overnight then next day just change the water..seems to work ok for me..hope that helps
Great ideas thank you but for the pizza and the crisps I wish you would have been more specific about how much to put in? I have to base it on how it looked. You didn't say much about how thick or thin.
Was so excited to try these. Just made the crisps. Look nothing like yours. My food processor didn't produce a smooth batter. Maybe it's not powerful enough.
I know this is 4yrs old and I am just seeing it. Having become plantbased with lots of food sensitivities, 0ne of which is wheat, I truly appreciate this video. I've seen others but this one resonates with me. Thank you chef Fox🙏🏽

Your flip technique at five minutes and 15 seconds in is phenomenal for beginners!!!
Glad you like the flip technique, I was showed when I was just a boy and as you can see over the years the flipping has got better but I always remembered that simple flip so just paying it forward
Thank you. You've saved my life and changed my life. You have shown me how to actually eat food again.
7:25 garlic pancake ; 14:37 garlic naan bread ; 2:31 pizza base and chips ;thanks for the recipes ❤️🙏

Definitely worth a try👍🏾
Glad I found this. I don't have weight to lose but wanted to start eating less 'conventional' bread, these fit the bill and provide extra protein too.
I love bread! ... and also want to get off of the convetional store varieties
I have been feeling deprived because of being vegan gluten free. Now I’m inspired by the options you have given me. Thank you 😊
My daughter and husband would surely love to have these than their usual bread or pancakes, and they need not worry about gaining weight while eating more. Thank you so much for sharing.
Too much lectin intake is not good either
Thank you very much for sharing ideas I will try one of them Lentils taste nice
OMG,I just leared about all of this. This will be a forever staple,I think being a vegan will be fun. You get to create in a healthy way..😋

The parchment paper circle cutting idea just blew my mind
.... is brilliant!
I learned a lot from this video even after making these lentil recipes several times now. You answered some questions-and I LOVE the crisp idea.
Johnny fox your show is phenomenal! I am from America so I am very much enjoying your accent and take on such common essential foods us Westerners I have forgotten about. I hope your show explodes in viewers! Good luck to you sir

Yum
Nice flip!
Patience is a virtue here
Will it be okay to take about two teaspoons of water out before adding the garlic?
Thanks for this. Just like a masala dosa. The wonderful healthy underated lentil. As a vegan this is such an important ingredient
That why I like it too because its so similar to the DOSA but no rice added so works better with the weight watcher diet
Just discover you and glad I did. Can I ask if you wash the lentils first before soaking overnight?
That crisp one looks so tasty! Could I make it with chickpeas? Lovely recioes. Thank you
yes you can. if you use chickpea flour they are really hard and crispy like my other video but if you soak them overnight like the lentil one they are a softer crisp but does the same as lentins

What are the Indian spices for the naan? I'm here in the US and don't see a link except for skinny foods.
the indian spices are in an earlier video
ua-cam.com/video/E2SCx1f0TG4/v-deo.html
as for the skinny sauces
theskinnyfoodco.com/
hope that helps
@@foxsweightwatcherkitchen854 thank you!
Can I use tinned lentils?
tinned lentils will not work as they will be cooked and will not bind the same as uncooked. It will loook almost the same but will not hold together...hope that helps
Do the crisps stay crispy if stored 😊
if you put them in air tight container then mine usually last 3-4 days before they start to taste like going off. fortunately mine never seem to last more than 2 days
You need to advise people to wash their lentils well before soaking if they are not getting rid of the soak water.
Awesome video
Glad you like the video. The two main ingredients Lentil and water can be adapted for countless different recipes, this was just 5 ways to adapt the mix. you can add almost any other ingredients and change it. Have a play and let me know how you get on :)
Interesting. How much Marmite would you add for one batch of crisps?
Do you rinse your lentils?
You can give them a quick rinse if you like but I just tip into pot and add water then leave to soak overnight then next day just change the water..seems to work ok for me..hope that helps
@@foxsweightwatcherkitchen854 thanks for the quick reply …..
Can you use tinned lentils please.?
have to be fresh dry lentil as when they are tinned they are usually cooked so it will not work the same
Do you need to wash your lentils first?
after soaking them overnight I then weigh it then rinse and change water and bring back to the same weight. Hope that helps
No skinny foods link.
Mine went sticky and I did pikelete size ones on baking paper.
Great ideas thank you but for the pizza and the crisps I wish you would have been more specific about how much to put in? I have to base it on how it looked. You didn't say much about how thick or thin.

which recipe does not work ..maybe I can help
I feel like I should have paid for this tutorial.
Beware!!!! Uncooked soaked (over 10 hours) red lentils in baked flatbread caused me at least 2 unpleasant and scary side effects for 2 days!
🙊
Wtf
Is it just me or he just looks alike gordon Ramsay
Thanks for the compliment but I do not have his temprement thank goodness
Oh huh, that syrup on the top is a bad choice and rots your teeth.
Absolutely nothing wrong with good butter. It’s carbs not fats which make you fat.
Too much talking!!!!!!! Nightmare
