The producer, writer and star of 'The Gift' explains his pursuit to becoming a bonafide actor and how his passion for art and painting almost held him back from his career in Hollywood. "I don't know if I would've made a great artist, I still paint and I do it as a personal thing," Edgerton shares.

i watched joel edgerton in easily half a dozen movies before i ever realized they were all the same man.... i love actors like that, and joel edgerton is truly talented
+firebaby7 I saw him on stage in 'A Streetcar Named Desire' as 'Stanley' opposite Cate Blanchett as 'Blanche', they were both amazing!
one of the best working actors today. a total chameleon
im from boston and I have to say that Joel's southie accent was on point from someone who happens to be Australian
+lisa simpson One of the few accents in the movie that was on point.
Edgerton is a fantastic actor. I've seen a lot of his recent work. I think it's pretty cool that he paints and writes... it's awesome how people are born artists and how artists have a passion to create things of beauty. Also, I think the blonde hair is so friggin cool, those glasses are sharp, and I love the way he talks.
He's really talented!! ... And good lucking!!
when he said "my brother quit electrical engineering and became a stunt man" i was like ohhh shit! loooool i never recognise joel edgerton mehn he always goes from one orgasmic fantastic look to another
Joel Edgerton.... Lindoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
He's so underrated but OMG his body of work... Animal Kingdom is a must-see!
Whoa! I didn't even recognize Joel Edgerton. Also, i never knew he has an accent.
+Marchie Monroe He doesn't have an accent. All the other guys on the table do. ;)
From the path not taken to 'the path taken'...... we're glad he chose the path of acting.
Would Dark Matter be the same without him?
Amazing actor!can't wait to see more from him :)
Judging by his hair, I now know he was filming 'loving' during this time. Lol
What a beautiful soul.
The real slim shady
Why no Scottish actors?
Saw the film Gift directed by Edgerton and in which he stars along side Jason Bateman and Rebecca Hall. Thought it was really good.
On ya Joel!
OMG did not know he was Australian ??? He was unreal at doing US accents!
Wow! It's a table of peeps with various accents. Diversity in this small moment is refreshing. #ThankPhuck

Why no Asian actors? THR discriminating again
aye it be the acadamy, or more likely the studios not hiring them, or maybe the American audience for not watching enough of them (supply and demand?) man this shit is deep.
We just need to wait for the right time...
+Eddierangers1989 I know right, look at all the awesome acting Asian actors have done this year for oscar buzz. There was, um, um? So it is NOT THR it is directors NOT casting Asians.
