Earl Hamner Jr.'s Childhood Home The Walton-Hamner House Schuyler VA: Tour 3 Through The Years

Insatllment number 3 features Ike's Market & Deli store photo mom took I believe in 2006 on the site where the original S & H Grocery store stood which was the real Ike Godsey's General Mechandise store. This edition also shows the exterior of the Walton Hamner House through the years. If you look closely, you will notice the back section of the house has undergone at least a couple of renovations. Photos are from years 1992, 2006 This edition also shows the inspiration for the original Dew Drop Inn in Scottsville and a photo Dad took of Jon Walmsley at the grand opening of Waltons Mt Museum in 1992. Many of the Waltons fans will recgonize Jon as Jason Walton. Fun Walton Fact: The real Jason (Cliff Hamner) had told Jon on the Decade of the Waltons that he "couldn't carry a tune." There are also photos of Ronnie Claire Edwards (protrayed Corabeth Godsey) & Joe Conley (who protrayed Ike Godsey) that Dad took in 1992. You will also see the exterior of Schuyler Baptist Church & also what the scantuary looked like in that year. This video series of the Walton Hamner House is dedicated to the memory of the grandmother I never got a chance to meet. I do know things about her that my mom has told me about her and one of those things is that she LOVED the classicTV show the Waltons The Walton Hamner House is a Virginia Landmark as it is the house the real family that the Waltons were based on lived in.
