Goodnight Mary Ellen, Goodnight John boy, goodnight Bella, goodnight Dave. 😊
lol... :) Goodnight Randy!
Watch it all the time ! The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie were my shows !!
I can't believe it was $15 to look at those two houses, thanks for taking one for the team Dave! :-)
lol...I thought it was a little much and the museum at the school added a little more to it...ouch! :)
I loved this. Walton’s Mountain was such a wonderful show. I had no idea those places existed. Would love to go there. I think I know where your next TV place is but I won’t ruin the surprise. I can’t wait! Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It was pure delight.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I think a few people here have a good idea where we are headed! :)
That was fun! I loved watching the Waltons growing up, thanks so much for sharing!👍
Mt Airey aka Mayberry maybe? Goodnight John boy!
One of my favorite shows growing up. I always watch the Waltons Christmas show. Thanks for the video. Brought back great childhood memories! And the quilts! Beautiful
Glad you enjoyed it!
I visited here 1 yr ago. It was an hour before closing and I was the only one with the gal who worked there. She gave me the grand tour with a lot of extra stories. Their journey is an inspiring story from acquiring the land, to trying to design the floor plan as close as possible, to the interior decor. I was a little disappointed by Johnboy’s room, too. But the guide explained that exact furniture, including size and shape, are often difficult to find or isn’t in good condition. Furniture is historically accurate and not replicas. I like that.
As a woman who grew up with the Walton’s, I gotta say it was a little emotional to stand in Olivia’s kitchen!
I drove 4 hrs off my trip to Schuyler VA just to see this house. I would do it again in a minute! Next time taking the family to book an overnight stay! ❤
To note: The original Hammer house was lived in by the family for many years. So it got changed and remodeled just like we all do with our homes. I thought it was so cool to see the house that the real life was lived… Earl Hammer’s real life home.
Thanks for posting!
Sitting in a Walmart in VA. parking lot, wondering where next!
Thanks for sharing. A terrific TV show that I loved to watch. 👍
Nice walk through. Was never a Waltons fan, loved Little House on the Prairie, but I do remember a lot that was shown in your walk through, my sister loved to watch The Waltons.
I had no idea it was based on a real home in a real town, so nice when fiction turns out to be reality!
GOOD MORNING BEAST DAVE BELL UA-cam VIDEO CANADA ONTARIO MISSISSAUG 🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁🍁🍂🐕🍂
I never watched The Walton's growing up since my parents ran the TV. But I was huge on Little House on the Prairie. Great video Dave. 👍👍👍👍👍🙂
Walton's Mountain is still on TV. (METV) I just watched the episode where John was accused of stealing pewter goblets, but it turned out that the son of the accuser pawned them in order to help pay expenses for the property.
All the episodes and seasons are on Amazon Prime Video! :)
This guy doesn't know his Walton's. Nice video anyway
Very cool! I loved watching the Waltons❤ I live in Virginia so I'm going to be going to see this! Thanks Dave 😊
Have fun!
Awesome Video Dave. Nice trip down memory lane.👍
Yes it was!
Almost see and hear the whole family filling the home with their love and daily life. Thank you for this wonderful gift! 😊👍
You are quite welcome!
good vid
I loved watching The Walton's.
Dave, thank you for the great tour of Walton's Mountain. We used to pass it all the time between home and my son's college in Lynchburg. I always wanted to stop but we were usually pressed for time.
Good afternoon Dave.Bella and Betty!!! Thank you so much for taking the time to take a tour of the Waltons Home on the show The Walton’s That’s definitely worth visiting and it makes you feel like you have stepped back in time 60-70 years ago back when life was far more simple and families were closer. Nice museum too as yeah I agree-they could’ve made that gift shop looked more like Ike’s Store. Hoping that there are more new & exciting adventures waiting up on the road ahead. Until next time, later and love to Bella 🙂🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍👍
I think you'll also enjoy a soon to come video... :)
I always loved the Waltons!! Good Vid Dave! Thanks for sharing!!
Thk u so much I enjoyed this so much,
You are quite welcome. :)
I remember there was one of those claw-tubs, in my grandfather's house.
When I was a little boy and I'd stay there, overnight, my twin and I would get a bath.
My Gramma would put about 2 inches of water, in the tub and have us get in. We couldn't believe it. It wasn't what we were used to, at home. But, we just went along with it, and saved ourselves a good hiding.
You did a really nice job filming this. Thank you much from another life long Waltons fan.
I am so jealous. My favorite show of all time. Have watched every episode several times. I want to go there. Thanks for taking me with you. Safe travels.
I always wanted to see this. Lucky you and thank you.👍👍❣❣
Great job. Enjoyed this video a lot and looking forward to the next one.
Awww this was pretty cool Dave. I loved watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie. Thanks for sharing Dave.....and Bella.
I don't think they had ceiling fans back then either.
Yes there were ceiling fans back then.
That house is way off. There wasn't a door in the living room that went to the grandparents' room. The bedrooms were bigger. There were no bay windows in the show. I guess they ran out of money when building the replica. The house on the show was a lot bigger.
Good Dave. Good night Bella. Good night Betty. 😆 lol
LOL! :)
We went and stayed at John and Olivia’s bed-and-breakfast
One of my favorite shows I still watch it in reruns. It’s a place I would enjoy seeing it.
It looks just right to me. I am not sure you watched this show very much .. Ben didn't pay the piano ,, it was Jason.. and those were pictures of Erin's wedding not Mary Ellen's
I checked, as of now, January 2024, it costs $225 per night, to stay in the Writer's room, which would be the room I'd want to stay in, as I am a writer also. I think, it would have been much easier in Earl's day to get published. It's very hard, and not cheap now. I'd love to stay in that house, one of these days.. maybe write at his desk.
Good night Mary Ann...Good night John Boy...Good night Elizabeth...Good night John Boy....
Thanks for the video...
Yes, there is a bay window in the dining room in the series house. In s1 ep2, grandma is ironing by the bay window.
Yes there were bay windows in the kitchen just was always covered by the ironing board. I think there was a window seat too.
I havent been to Schuyler since a month after they dedicated ground breaking on the show house replica. I'd like to see it. I'll be in Southeast Virginia next week... i may take a detour home.
Went there in 2001 probably october/November. There was a Waltons reunion. Met the ladies and a few of the boys. The house wasn't available to see tho cuz family members were still living there. The bed and breakfast I don't think was there. Glad you had a chance to see this..pretty 😎 cool.
This was great to watch! I live less than an hour from this place but of course, you never visit the things in your own backyard :)
I grew up watching the waltons and I still watch them till this day on Hallmark channel and it was filmed at Warner brothers ranch studio
They had 3 beds in the girls room but it looked like they widen the wall
I just want to say my name is art I went to Athens Ohio to oversee a job 4 new dormitories and all the guys that work for me were from West Virginia I want to say they were all good guys to be around I had a lot of respect for them they all worked hard for me if they see this I just want to say thank you. I have plans to go see The Waltons house the wife and I
I just watched The Waltons on Sunday night Hallmark and in the episode Drew came to see Elizabeth and she was sitting in the bay window reading a book and I said to myself I didn’t know they had bay windows and I had never seen it before either apparently they don’t film many shots from that angle. I grew up watching the Waltons and the reruns after school so I didn’t think there was an episode that I hadn’t seen at least 10 times and was surprised that I never paid attention to it or didn’t remember that part of the house.
PS I just remembered their house burned down at one point and they farmed all the children off to friends and family while they rebuilt the house, maybe that’s when the bay windows appeared.
I was there 2 years ago and just the school was open because we got there 45 minutes before closing. I have to get back there to see it all. Was Ike Godsey's store open on the south side of 29 it was gift shop about 10 years ago.
What a great show
I watch it every day
Some of the furniture some of the placements of the furniture lotta things were offset in the rooms Waltons Mountain needs to go back watch the movie and reset to try to get that authenticity I agree with you they didn’t quite get it! From what you showed it’s not gonna make me rush to go to Waltons Mountain The town‘s gonna have to get behind them pull more money into making it correct
Where was grandpa and grandmas room? That wasn’t shown
I like the Walton bed and breakfast house! Sorry you seem to be so negative about it!
I thought they used a crank phone that was a rotate I could be wrong
This was a real neat video nice to look back in the day when TV was TV happy motoring Dave 🤗🤗
Lol, my mom would make us sit and watch the Walton's With her when we were in trouble ...
There definitely was a bay window in the kitchen area👍

Thanks Dave, would love to see in person one day!
🎃 I’ve been there, done that…quite a climb up that Mt.
I almost never watched the show so you could tell us anything about Walton's Mountain and I'd take it face value and believe you.
TYSM Dave this was very cool.
I grew up watching The Waltons and Little House on the Prairie pretty cool shows👍👍
Never watched the show so it all looked ok to me😂
Bet it feels good to be on the road again Dave..
The house on the movie lot in CA. was first built and used in Mayberry RFD. Then it was re-landscaped and used in The Waltons. Finally, it was used in The Gillmore Girls. They had reburbished the porch for the filming of the Walton movies, and the steps went from 3 to 4 steps leading up to the porch.
It also made a brief appearance in Back to the Future (Twin Pines farm) as well as a few other shows and movies.
Mostly an empty shell in places...the actors said there was no upstairs, just a landing to stage people coming downstairs.
There were big bay windows in the show. Downstairs is exact replica including the wall colors.
The furniture is a bit rearranged to make the B&B rooms work for lodging, but it is a very good synthesis of the set house and the soundstage upstairs rooms.
The Grandparents room is perfect replica even to furniture placement. All of downstairs is perfect.
If I recall there was no internal second floor built on the set house...just an actor staging landing on the staircase
The show portrays them living on a sizable track of land. However, it looks like the home is situated in a neighborhood.
i visited the area back in the early 2000's back then there was a forest around the house. it sat back by it's self. like everything else things change over time. his mother was still living in the house at the time. you couldn't even see the schoolhouse from there home back then as well.
He started writing the book in Arkansas
So nice
I never watched the show.
Good tour.

I had no idea hurricane Camille went that far north. Good video .
Most of them do, and many of those are weakened quite a bit by the time they get here. A few are still packing a punch!
Good Night

Glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the Waltons! Thanks for this video xx
Glad you enjoyed!
The longevity of the show comes from the quality of content and by all involved.
It's been fun to catch up with all the family and learning how they are doing now. Thanks for sharing this.
Oh Love this! Can you get to Mayberry North Carolina next? My friend said Mayberry is really cool!
I might have been there and need to edit the video...just sayin' lol

Fond memories of watching The Waltons with my whole family.
Those were great days weren’t they , the early seventies…….
I want to go there so badly, I love the show and I've been watching reruns for 3 days. I wished one day as a child, that I'd have a life like them, and that wish is still strong this day.
I always wanted John Boys car when I was younger. Now all I want is a Truck! Great video. Cheers ✌
Pretty cool video thanks for sharing. Used to watch that show Growing Up. Still catch a rerun once in awhile.
Feels like a Walton could walk in at any time! Thanks. I enjoyed my trip there years ago!
Thanks for the walk down memory lane, Dave. Or should I say thanks for making me feel old today lol. Loved this show as a kid!
Interesting! Glad to see this museum. I used to say “Goodnight John Boy” every night …to the air. 😆
Great tour Dave! If I may, it was Jason that played the piano, not Ben 🤣👍 “Hi Bella” ❤️
😁 oops!
@@DavesRVLife 🤣
