    That rant is spot on. Most forget that a gun is a tool first and a toy second.

    Compared to your Pantera is the grip more,less or the same traction? I find my Pantera grip needs more traction.

    I saw a version from shot show with an integrated comp. Very interesting but heavy trigger killed the last one for me. I would prefer an external extractor.

      Lightening a 2011 trigger is very simple. I wouldn’t want a 4.5# trigger either. I adjust all my 2011’s to 2.5# immediately after I buy them.

    I am confused as looking at the front of the manual in the bottom right corner the warning states - WARNING: DO NOT USE +P AMMO or High Velocity High Pressure Ammunition. PS I like your channel for the many other insights you give and the second shooter opinion. Not sure what the inside of the manual states though. Keep up the exceptional info though.

      It's called "we don't want to hear about it when the barrel lugs shear or other parts break."
      These are poor-quality guns meant for low-volume shooters. Which means that the buyer focusing on the $500 or $1000 difference between this and a better gun also won't afford to purchase enough ammunition to break it. They're gambling that it won't be run hard.
      That's generally a safe bet and that is something to consider every time you look at a product that's "feature-filled" and lower priced... whether it's guns, trucks, optics, etc.

      A fool and his money are soon parted.
      You'll be fine as long as you don't shoot it much, or if you have armorer's skills and plenty of spare parts.
      I've repaired every single Girsan my friends have owned. All but one of them eventually just told me to cannibalize the gun for parts or throw it away.
      I won't recycle those parts, they are just that bad.

      @JD-tn5lz Really?! That sucks. At least I make a lot of money 💰 to waste on these toys. Oh well! Feedback of Fusion Firearms XP PRO? No MIMs.

      @JD-tn5lz 2 дні тому +1

      @@Styxx2018I have no firsthand experience with the Ermox (manufacturer of that for FF) so I couldn't directly.
      Except I have had experiences with Fusion Firearms on their 1911s and they have been epic bad.
      Bob Serva (owner and founder of FF) is a topnotch 1911 guy and straight up. I wouldn't say the same about anyone else in his family or at his shop.
      I generally avoid firearms that aren't made by a company that doesn't pursue military or LE contracts. Those corporate cultures are altogether different than most other manufacturers. Then again, if you're looking for a range-beating toy or a high-end competition gun, there's certainly non-LE/Military makers out there for that.
      Maybe Ermox are decent, but I'm pretty sure that they aren't a contractor and I have enough range-beaters, so I'll probably never know.

    • @Styxx2018

      @ Bob Serva was the only reason why I even considered Fusion Firearms. Great point on the LE/Military contracts. Appreciate the knowledge!!!

    Two things that stick out :
    A Match 1911 / 2011 should have a better trigger than this, as well as positive magazine ejection.
    Second : The rear sight should overhang the back of the slide for a longer sight radius.
    As usual, Girsan screws it up.

    • @JD-tn5lz

      Every Girsan my friends have owned have eventually ended up on my workbench. All but one of them elected to just have me cannibalize some parts or just throw it away.

    This looks like a very solid, well made pistol. I keep telling myself I don't need any more double-stack 9MM handguns, then you show me something like this and my wallet starts whimpering 🤔 Maybe just one more?

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 5 днів тому +1

      Avoid this one. Any Girsan. Every single Girsan my friends have owned have wound up on my workbench. Every damn one of them.
      The oddest thing is that unlike other makers, every damn one of them had something different broken.
      So yeah, quality guns as long as you never actually shoot them.

    A proper 2311 would be chambered in 4.7mm, 22 round cap, and have an electronic firing system. Get with the times, old man.

    If someone handed me a gun with a 10lb trigger.. 🤣 wtf.. lighter triggers are always better for accuracy and quick follow ups. With that said, there’s definitely such a thing as too light. 2-5lb range’s a good range for pretty much anyone. Anymore and it’s a bit much any less and be extra careful.

  • @JD-tn5lz
    @JD-tn5lz 5 днів тому

    Just say NO. Unless you desire materials to learn 1911 Armory skills...OR...if you're someone that doesn't intend to shoot more than a few hundred rounds a year in the most placid of environments.
    Frankly, next to Fusions and Tisas, these are possibly the very worst 1911s under the sun.
    They will "look" fine upon inspection. They will also function for a few hundred rounds if treated gently.
    Otherwise? Save your money and buy almost anything else. Anything. Even a Rock Island.
    Just say NO to Girsan.

    • @blackdragon44
      @blackdragon44 5 днів тому +3

      Well that's a bunch of bullshit. Seems to me you just don't like the companies and are looking for or making up reasons to bash them.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 5 днів тому

      @@blackdragon44I'm an armorer and an LE instructor. I don't carry 1911s and I don't prefer them, but I enjoy shooting them occasionally and own over a dozen of them.
      You don't have to spend a ton of money to get a decent 1911. If you want a real "budget" 1911 that will actually work, get a Rock Island. Actually, even a lower end Colt is affordable, except you're limited to single-stack...but at least it'll work.
      You're right, I don't like them. Why?
      Because every single one of the Girsans that friends of mine have owned have wound up on my workbench needing repairs. Every damn one of them. JUNK.
      So yeah, Girsan=a fool and his money are soon parted.
      Hey, but if you're one of those "loves guns but knows nothing about them" types that buys a gun he can't afford to shoot, a Girsan is perfect for you

      @@JD-tn5lzMaybe they have improved on their quality. I like like colts too but they need to be worked on sometimes too?

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 2 дні тому

      @@speedyx8988that's valid. Unfortunately 1911s just aren't the most durable or forgiving of high round counts. I love 1911s, but even a high quality 1911 will require more benchtime than something like Glock, HK, Walther, M&P, etc.
      Not slamming 1911s, I own altogether too many of them and enjoy most of them, it's just that they require more care.
      If I were in the market for an inexpensive 2011, I'd look at the double-stack 1911s that RIA puts out.
      They aren't pretty, not at all, but my experiences with them have been positive. They kind of remind me of that ol' Toyota 4x4 pickup with a stick and too much rust and bondo but keep running.

  • @JD-tn5lz
    @JD-tn5lz 5 днів тому

    Just gotta say it.
    Giraan is a great example of:
    A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTED.
    If you're only option for a firearm is a Girsan, this hobby is too expensive for you.
    A shooter. A decent serious shooter, spends the value, at minimum, the value of his firearm every two months. At absolute minimum.
    So if you can't afford something decent, odds are you can't afford to actually use it.

  • @A.C.Celik_900
    @A.C.Celik_900 5 днів тому +1

    Turks make the gun to shoot NATO spec ammo. Range ammo is not as hot as NATO spec so you'll get the cycling issues until broken in.

    • @JD-tn5lz
      @JD-tn5lz 5 днів тому +1

      Haha. No. Not even remotely.
      First off, and you are correct that NATO spec ammunition is higher pressure than standard American range ammo. After that, you fell off course.
      Secondly, a quality NATO firearm (which, by the way, Girsan is not a supplier) is capable of handling pressures up and down the spectrum. NATO loads are essentially "half a +P" and though the difference is noticeable, it is barely significant. Do you or have you noticed any issues with NATO suppliers sidearms such as Walther, HK, Sig, Steyr, or even Sarsilmaz? Uh, no.
      The issues you'll see commonly in a Girsan are indicative of poor manufacture and lower end parts.
      I've replaced bushings, safety detent housings, sights, and leaf springs on Girsans. Every single one of the ones that my friends have owned have required repair/parts replacement. Oh, yes, and a shit trigger is just Girsan.
