Getting a teacher and learning theory is also great, but I know it's easy to get bogged down with that stuff. Sometimes all you wanna do is rock out to your favorite songs!

This is why I use Rocksmith. It's similar to guitar pro the the vain you load up the song and you slow it down and repeat it till you get it perfect.

Totally this! The only way to get better at playing is to practice.
You don't need theory to learn to play or craft amazing riffs. Theory can help you understand what it is that makes them sound amazing but it isn't a requirement.
