I’m caught off guard that you brought tears to my eyes, again. I have so enjoyed your UA-cam journey. I was lucky enough to start with you from your beginning, and enjoy your content. Some episodes are truly special. ❤❤❤ Thank you for taking the time to share your journey with so many.
Thanks for showing your wonderful trip. My husband and I went to Alaska before dialysis and we toured 5 presidential libraries -- Bush 41, Bush 43, LBJ, Truman and Eisenhower. We had already been to Reagan and Nixon's libraries. Our travels were mostly camping and we visited 8 of 9 National parks in California as well as some others around the country. But, since my husband's passing 6 years ago, don't travel except last summer when I attended a friend's funeral in Oregon. My daughter came with me to share driving and navigation on that one. Thanks for all your quilting videos since I found your channel.
Two years ago my daughter got married in Kona and I purchased appliqué from the Quilt Passions store to use in their wedding quilt. Thanks so much for sharing. Really brought back nice memories for me. Btw...she and her husband could not be more pleased with their quilt. His family is Mennonite so my son in law understands the work that goes into and deeply appreciates handmade quilts.
I’ve lived in the islands three times, once working for the department of education - I travelled the islands and many of the 200 + schools. Pahoa on Big Island is one of my favorite communities.
Loved watching your Hawaiian trip! I was invited along with my son and family to the Big Island last July. We stopped at Kilauea Kreations quilt shop not far from the volcano. What a treat! My granddaughter and I bought Hawaiian prints and I’m putting them in a wall hanging for her. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Never went to the islands of Hawaii and now at age 83 probably won't get there. Your experiences were wonderful. Continue to adventure around our planet and share what you see and do. Thank you so much for the encouragement to "just get it done."
Glad you were able to visit my home for 17 years-the Big Island and visit Karen's Quilt Passion store and another favorite Kapaia Stitchery.Quilting is a very special and spiritual craft in Hawaii and glad you were able to quilt with one of the many masters there.
I visited the big Island of Hawaii in 2023 for the first time and visited the quilt Museum and Quilt Passions shop in Kona! It was amazing and they shipped my purchases home for me. ❤
Kauai is my favorite place in the world and Kapaia Stitchery is the best quilt shop ever. I just love making the Hawaiian style quilts. I'm glad you had such a good trip.
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experiences with us. Love the fabrics you got and would absolutely, without a doubt, recommend you quilt that beautiful piece as a whole cloth, not a backing. It would make a stunning wall hanging ❤. The Hawaiian quilts, applique, and reverse applique are all so beautiful and the ladies who taught the techniques look so kind. What a great birthday celebration adventure. 😊
Hawaiian quilting is amazing and pictures do not really do it justice. I loved visiting Vicky's fabrics when I was on Kauai. Love the fabrics that you found.
Thank you Karen for sharing your Hawaiian cruise with us. Just amazing. We holidayed on 3 islands over 10 years ago and experienced so many fantastic sights. I only found 1 quilt store then. Love the fabrics you purchased .👏♥️🇦🇺
Oh my goodness! I’ve only been to Kauai ( three times) but the other islands look amazing. Kapaia has the most amazing selection of batik fabrics and Hawaiian prints. It’s been two years since we were there, need to go back. Your cruise and classes must have been so incredible. What a wonderful opportunity. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your Hawaii adventures. What a wonderful way to spend your birthday with family and friends. It is a bucket list destination for me. I would love to attend on of your cruises! Iceland sounds amazing!
I went on a regular, surprise cruise to Bermuda... they had a "crafters meetup" activity... no one showed up except me. Oh, well I got some EPP done and enjoyed the trip.
I enjoyed this video very much! My husband and I were in Hawaii in November 1995. We spent one week on Oahu, and one week on Kauai. Such a memorable experience. One of the things I was especially looking forward to was Pearl Harbor, but unfortunately the government picked that week to be shut down, and we couldn't get any nearer than seeing it from a distance. I've always wanted to go back - maybe someday!
Karen: looks like the trip was the best. I love the Hawaiian quilts and fabric you chose !! We also took the road to Hana and saw the grave of Charles Lindbergh while we were there. A fabulous trip! I can’t wait to see what you make with your fabrics you bought. Thank you!
Those Hawaiian applique quilts are just amazing and stunning. If possible, I hope you do an in-depth video on the history and methods behind these gorgeous quilts. I'm going to search through your previous videos to re-watch a video you've done before.
@@JustGetitDoneQuilts Many thanks! After posting my comment, I realized that, and remembered your interview. I've sent links for their books to my email address for future reference.
I love love your vlogs especially with your wonderful cruises. Hawaiian quilts have always intrigued me; however, I’ve not tried one yet. Thanks so much for your informative videos. Quilting in Kentucky, Connie
oh man, i wish i knew you were coming to the big island, i would have pointed you to better food in Hilo and the quilt stores in hilo and volcano!!! :D. i am so pleased that you had a good visit!
@@JustGetitDoneQuilts oh, excellent!!! the last few months i have neglected the sewing, but i am officially back....so i will be more aware of my surroundings. hahhahahahaha
Can't believe no one mentioned the Maui fire. Those folks are in my mind and heart. wonder how many quilts were lost, too. Any ideas for quilters to aid in recovery?
If I had been home in Hilo when you came I would have tried to meet you! Your videos offer so much and I appreciate you!! Thank you and so glad you enjoyed your trip.
I am going on a full transit Panama cruise in February...you just reminded me, to check out if there are quilt shops/fabric stores at our many Ports of Call! Did you film videos of this cruise (ie. ports of call and quilt shops?) I don't seem to see anything on your YT channel.
Excellent. Thank you for taking us along. I'm land locked in Coventry, England. I've loved seeing another part of the world as well as the wonderful quilts.
I tried Blueland dishwasher pods because they aren’t wrapped in any flimsy plastic. However, I was surprised to realize when I got my credit card statement that the funds were in US dollars. My mistake of course, but when I saw “We ship to Canada” I assumed I would pay in CDN dollars. Lesson learned.
I use to really enjoy watching your ytube videos but every since you've started selling products for these companies, whom are sponsoring your channel and giving you free products I don't find it enjoyable anymore. It's just like every other channel.
Well, unfortunately it costs money to make and produce these videos. I am not a store asking you to buy my fabric. And my channel costs you nothing but an ad you can fast forward through if you want to.

Sorry for loss. Perhaps a trip on a quilting adventure with friends , old and new, would be fun to plan. Blessings Karen R.!
Our Hawaiian cruise was one of my favourite vacations of all times. I really didn’t want to come home. I hope that you can get there too.

Wasn't the island wonderful.
Just an average person making quilts this is something I can only dream of... glad you had fun.
So many come home being sick and if you didn't you are lucky. Glad you had a good time.
No one came home sick. I think because we were always outdoors helped

That was an interesting fact. Hopefully that question of where he is buried is part of some trivia quiz
@@JustGetitDoneQuiltsIt definitely should have been. Someone at a rest stop happened to mentioned it to me. It was about 8 miles past the town.
Fabulous
I've been thinking about trying Blueland for awhile now. Today I finally placed my order! Thank you, Karen!
How wonderful❤️

Awesome trip. Thanks for sharing.
I can see that ship from my house when it’s docked on Maui. It would have been fun to join in for just the Maui portion.
What a wonderful trip !
I went to quilt passions, bought some fabrics and we went to the museum
Happy Birthday!!
Thanks Karen. We are doing this cruise on November with friends. Looking forward to going to several of these same places.
I think you will love it too. Just so many opportunities for fun.
Thank you for sharing! I have always wanted to go to Hawaii! Absolutely love the Hawaiian quilts ❤

The fires were far from where we travelled and they did not want us to go there. The quilt shop in Maui was collecting for them.
I love your video’s!!!
Such a wonderful trip! Any info you can share about that amazing Christmas fabric? I’d love to use it in a project 😀
