- This video is about a couple of Aston Martin Vantage GT3 cars I recorded in action during a recent test day by Gedlich Racing and during the 2020 International GT Open weekend at Monza Circuit. This generation of Aston Martin GT3-class car was introduced in 2019 featuring the Mercedes AMG-derived 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine.

It's crazy how quiet the car really is in comparison to the rest of the GT3 field and GTE/GTLM. I saw it last year at road Atlanta and even the NSX was louder but it was still a cool noise on downshifts.
Gonna make the same comment.
The sound is sh*t beacause the AMG V8.
I saw it at gt challenge Sebring last year and the exhaust popping from the shifts was so loud even though the engine wasn’t compared to the others, I have to say I don’t remember the Acura being louder though
@@ryancusimano5892 sorry I meant to say the NSX was louder than it appears on videos not louder than the C8.R!
Mad how the gt4 is alot louder
It has such a unique sound; it may be quieter but the rumbling V8 gives it an ominous sound and the pops and bangs on the upshifts and downshifts give it a whole lot of character.
I'm guessing you also like the mercedes then

in person this is one of the best sounding, the upshifts go right through you!

I saw a bunch a gt3 cars at road America- the porches, bmws, Mercedes, nsx, 296 and this. The Porsche Gt3-r may be loud but I absolutely loved the pops and bangs of the deep grumbling Aston

The Aston is an amazing machine to see in person. It sounds far away at all times..........until the upshift

The pops & bangs, unused fuel & straight cut gears, also with transmission clicks
Ofc everyone loves the howling V12 (myself included) but i also love this new V8, its quiet but its very cool to hear the transmission sounds from the outside, the pops on upshifts and the in general throaty V8
also would be pretty cool to hear your opinion on how accurate the car sounds to real life

To me sound in race car is very important Vantage GT3 and DBR9 GT1 is like tea and ultra hot chilli but if you like that sound its ok to me i was curious why someone like quiet race cars.

These cars are getting quieter every year, do someone knows why ? I know most of these are now turbocharged but that can’t be the reason why they are so quiet
turbo takes alot of the sound out them. also i would imagine emission controls and sound levels are a factor as well now
More efficient. More sound just means more wasted energy.
Or you could turn up the volume of your speaker.

Egad, that doesn't sound like either a 90 or a 180 degree V8 at all. It makes little noise, and that's good, because it's noise is ugly. One of the worst engine sounds I can recall hearing. Very much unlike the usual wonderful sound of Aston V8s and V12s. Sounds worse than a 962, which, although a fantastic race car with an enviable record of wins, had a dull, uninspiring and yuck sounding V6 (V6...ugh, that explains a lot). Unbelievably blech engine sound ya got going on in this one, Aston Martin!
Thats not a V6, thats a V8 dimwit, watch australian V8 supercars, you'll think they've got a V12 in them with the sound of them
Sounds much better in person. Just saw one in a SRO race at COTA, and the rumble is crazy. Was like thunder shaking the seats.
