I think clam should do all this for you. They should even out the sled together with the fabric. It would take about a 5inch higher box to send it all In.
I couldnt agree more. Spent 600+ on a hut and have to worry about setting it properly. Send the bigger box and charge me the extra hour for labour
The screws are too long. For those of you who don't want nearly 1/2" of screw sticking out past the top of the nut on the Kenai Pro Thermal, you can replace the stainless screws. Cost me about $7.50. I replaced the included 1" screws with 3/4" #10 screws and still had nearly 1/4" (7/32") of excess screw thread. 1/2" screws would have been too short. I wish they included the correct sized screw. We dont want all that extra screw sticking up.
Thank you....! Great instructions...!
You guys should do a video on the new style
Thank you for your help!
I bought the kit and the bolt is at least 1" long and therefore will stick up about 1/2" through the floor once the washer and nut is secured which will create little "spikes" on the floor. Seems like these will act as great snags and catch points to tear and damage anything placed in the sled. Why not supply 1/2" bolts or something with a lower profile? I decided not to install the runners for this reason.
You can purchase little plastic nut caps super cheap at most Menards and Lowes orHome Depot stores
I think it’s dumb that the Clam sleds don’t come with runners installed. Especially since it voids the warranty if you don’t have them installed. Which is stupid since it’s an add on purchase
agreed
If your not careful, the tubes from the seat frame will touch the bolts coming through the tub.
Can't believe there isn't some sort of rubber washers on both ends to help seal the bolt holes
looks like that last 3" didn't line up bub
Thank you for the good laugh!
Are the clam kenai pro runners just as easy to manipulate without a heat gun? I ask because I don't have one and need to get those lol...
I just bought a used clam, but no runners. Can you show how to instal runners on a built clam sled?
did you ever figure it out? I'm in the same boat and I'm guessing I'm screwed.
Just bought the 100 XT and a runner kit. Runners predrilled off centre, countersink depth is all over the place, and the last hole on 2 of them doesnt match the other runners. What am I supposed to do when I need to replace them and the holes done line up? Turn my tub to swiss cheese? For $130 cdn I would expect a little better quality. I wont even mention the screws. Very disappointed in this purchase.
Warning do not measure the same spacing for a Kenai Pro Thermal. They don't give you enough bolts ,washers and nuts .Pre measure and count your holes before you drill any holes because you will run out of hardware to bolt it down. They give you only 30 bolts, washers and lock nuts. Divide 4 runners into 30 sets. That only gives you 7 bolts per runner. Who does the math here?
They should give you more sets of hardware. He has a whole warehouse of hardware, you don't. Just a heads up guys. FAIL Clam....We pay enough for the kit and shelter, you should give us enough for what we need.
Thanks man, building mine right now.
Every model has different spacing. Look online for the proper spacing... or read the instructions that should have come with the kit. There's plenty of hardware if you follow the instructions for your particular model.
