I brought my lunch from home and worked through the break. There are tons of racists that work in my field as well, so eyes are always on the melenated. I wish we could call this paranoia, but it's not. Meanwhile, you have mediocre white men like Charli Kirk and his panel of dimwits who call black and brown people that are brighter than they are diversity highers.
This is why racists should never define what racism is. That is just giving them a blank cheque to be as racist as their dark hearts allow them to be, while hiding under the cover of "that's not really racism."
Flip the script and I'm going to ask you a simple question. Would you rather have (1) the most qualified heart surgeon or (2) a lesser qualified surgeon who got in on a quota. Let's roll with a sports analogy. The black population is 13% in the United States, yet they make up around 70% of the NFL. So let's play by DEI rules... a team has to get rid of 40% of the black players and hire white players instead. Is that fair? Is that smart? And the proof is in the taste of the pudding, brocephus.. would you BET REAL MONEY on a team with quotas like that? Gotta have one Asian... only 13% Blacks are allowed on the team.... Hell, let's say we're following world demographics, *half* of the players have to be women. So now you've got a very white, very female football team. You betting on that team? Or are you putting your money on their opponents who hire players based on merit? Spoiler alert: If you bet on the statistically representative team, you're going to lose 100% of the time, and you're dumb. Double spoiler: This is why you're dishonest too. Your pilot, surgeon, or kids' teacher, all things considered, beat a better candidate exclusively because of their color. You pick the most qualified surgeon/pilot/whatever regardless of their race. Anything short of that is racist and stupid. Correct me if I'm wrong. Do you want the Indian doctor who was the top of his class *or* the white doctor who went to a shittier school and got worse grades? No difference between the two other than grades and color. Which doctor do you choose? Let's stop the virtue signaling here... you know damn well that you'd want the best doctor, regardless of their color, gender or orientation. Anything other choice of that is by definition... RACIST. What say you?
I'm a black airline pilot and hearing this isn't shocking. I've always had to be better than my peers because of people like this. No matter how hard we work, it's never good enough for racist. I've been flying for over 20 years, since I was 16 years old, and people like Charlie Kirk will look at people like me sideways because we're in the flight deck.
It's difficult, especially when these people are so high in the conservative pecking order. If these people have more diversity in their community growing up, usually this kind of thinking goes away. Removing the white only safe spaces would go a long way. Problem is they want to maintain those safe spaces.
@FreedomLove-gz4jo Why the assumption is that black and brown pilots are less qualified? Also, his depiction of a black female pilot negates your entire comment. BTW, MLK Jr. spoke about equity in an era where black people were being denied simply because of their race, which the aviation industry has done since the beginning of industry.
@FreedomLove-gz4jo What you are saying doesn't happen. If one is not qualified, they are not qualified. You just can't discriminate based on race or gender. That's it.

I remember reading this assigned book in high school. I think it was called "White Like Me" but I might be mixing that up. It was an autobiographical journey of a white man trying to analyze his own racism and trying to fix it. This pilot thing actually came up where he saw a black pilot and had that "oh no, am I safe?" impulse. But then went "why did I just think that?" "what a racist thought." "of course I'm safe, I need to do better.""Let's analyze why and what led to those thoughts so I can do better." I guess what I'm saying is, seeing a black pilot and wondering about your own safety is quite literally textbook racism. As in for me, it was in a textbook. It is an example of racism that should be used as wake up call for the person having the thought, not to be fucking dug down deeper into!
Unfortunately most of these people say IN PUBLIC that god “tells” them what to do. So, having to check my own ignorance, I was wondering why all this attention to black pilots....I had to look it up. Yes the pilot was black. I didn't know. You know why? Because door blew off and the skin color of the pilot is irrelevant. It's like saying the bathroom door of the McDonald's is busted because the person making fries is black. Wtf.
The right (or more accurately, the online corner of the right) are currently trying to cook up DEI policies as their new boogeyman, that's why they've hyper focused on this one incident, as its the closest thing they can find to prove DEI policy is hiring people by skin color over complitance. They know they're lying, they just need to force a narrative.
A door blowing off is not a piloting error; it's a structural flaw. The pilot did her job perfectly; like, seriously pulled a Sullenberger. But because she's a black woman rather than a white man, they're trying to _make_ a structural flaw _into_ a piloting error.
I was about to look it up myself because I could not figure it out. However, my assumption was along those lines. I suppose that makes me a reverse racist for thinking that racist white guys being blatantly racist are making something that has nothing to do with race about race. Diversity and inclusion means that QUALIFIED people are not overlooked because of bias whether conscious or not. It is not an effort to hire unqualified people. These people are just so ignorant but also deliberate.

Thats not true. What it means is that the company will make sure certain percentage of employees are from certain characteristics (race, sexual preference etc). It doesnt matter the qualifications because inside that percentage they will not examine the application of any other people that doesnt have those characteristics. So for example if you are an asian with excellent qualification even better from all the people inside that percentage it doesnt matter you will not be elected. So what you are saying is not true. The first element that will be examine is if you have those characteristics and later your qualifications.

While I have seen many female doctors who unfortunately were no better than the stereotype of the arrogant male surgeon, for the most part he was correct in his thinking. "People aren't hiring their incompetent cousin just because he is their cousin, or if they are then they most likely aren't running a successful business" Except they are.. they absolutely are. Because as it turns out, there's more to running a business than hiring the best people. You can have a lot of unqualified people and still do solid business, depending on the industry of course. "uh, okay, why are you jealous of a company that goes bankrupt?" Your reading comprehension could use some work bro. They didn't say that they were jealous. They also wouldn't own that company, so why would they care if it went out of business eventually? They just want a job, and a company that is going bankrupt still employs people. You're effectively saying "the free market will sort out all our problems!", but it very clearly doesn't work that way. If you had bothered to actually THINK about what the OP said for a moment, you'd realize that they're making a good point. I've personally gotten jobs because of connections, and I can tell you that while I was definitely qualified, I was not the MOST qualified. Someone else would almost certainly have done the job better than I did, but it was my connections that got me the job. I feel like some people hear this stuff and think "so you want it to be so that my buddy can't recommend me for a job?!", as if that's what we're talking about. It's not. That's perfectly fine, nobody cares. It's the many, many more egregious cases of nepotism that are an actual, serious problem.
@idontwantahandlethough wait, you said everyone says they're distinct, but then admit you got a job based on qualifications and connections. Whose reading comprehension is poor again? If a company only hires based on nepotism, the OP stated that means the company will most likely fail. So why are you concerned about a poorly run company. That is the free market, people who make good business decisions run successful companies. That's how it works. Who gets to determine what makes someone more or less "qualified"? Someone could have a better degree, but no work experience, or visa versa. What a business decides is a qualification is very much subjective anyway, so what are you even arguing? It seems you're just lashing out for the sake of being angry, without even taking 5 seconds to think about what you're saying.
Nah, the 1930s racism would have come with an imagined scenario of the black pilot being high and groping the white women on board AND ALSO not being qualified to fly.
Using pilots as an example of DEI is incredibly disingenuous, because it completely neglects the amount of training and testing a pilot would need to go through to even be considered to be given access to the controls of a real passenger plane. They act as though the POC gets given their wings and sat in the cockpit for a commercial flight as soon as they're hired.
Yes, because that's how they've always characterized DEI or affirmative action. To them the qualifications of POC are automatically suspect and as such these policies must put incompetent other races in these positions instead of obviously qualified white men.
The way I chuckled at how Kirk proved the author's point by making that junior high school assessment on that article. The jokes write themselves at this point.
There are people who stumble across that gaggle of muppets and think "🤔 yup, sounds right to me." They have driver's licenses and unsupervised access to the public. Stay safe out there, folks.
It's really funny to me that Charlie doesn't get what the article is critiquing. He's not saying that 'criticising' MLK is tantamount to challenging jesus or the laws of physics. He's saying that you, Charlie, are too stupid to do so. But he's not even smart enough to get that.
I love how they're trying to use DEI as the reason for the Boeing door falling off. I've argued with people who insist corporate culture and practices have nothing to do with it and it's all DEI. Gotta love how McDonnell Douglas had doors falling off their planes. They get bought by Boeing. They force their practices that led to doors falling off and the company being run onto the ground onto Boeing. Now doors are falling off of Boeings. Who could have seen that coming? It's almost as if using the same failed profits first business practices will keep leading to similar outcomes!
Its just buzzword scapegoating. Most of them don't know what it is, like Woke or CRT, but just say it enough times and they can get rid of it because they think it means black people, LGBT or sometimes women.
Its never the fault of right wing policy on deregulation of course, reducing margins of safety requirements, and capitalism wanting cheaper costs for more products. What enables cutting corners. Nope. Never the conditions they created. Just blame the blacl/brown guy they find or make up, to then blame their social and occupational rights being the problem.
Person A: “Is Charlie Kirk racist?” Person B: “Did he complain about Black pilots being qualified to fly a plane?” Person A: “Yes?” Person A: “Then yes, he is racist.”
"DEI... promotes skin color over excellence" According to Kirk, DEI promotes darker skin color over excellence. How is this different from promoting lighter skin color over excellence, which is the way it has routinely been?
What's funny is that will deny black people opportunities then turnaround and claim theyre "not working hard enough" to succeed and wonder why some turn to crime..smh
@BleyBlair "blacks"?? that is highly derogatory to black people. black is in adjective to describe someone but calling a group of black people just "blacks" is dehumanizing.

People like Charlie like to say "I'm just saying what everyone is thinking." No Charlie, everyone would include me and I have not once thought any of the things you have said.
It’s so funny because him saying this is based on something that had absolutely nothing to do with any black pilots but the manufacturer of the plane in question, and since then multiple other planes have had manufacturing issues who had white pilots, but none of them have said anything about the other pilots
You’re right about the stupidity of it. People like Charlie give no critical thought to what they say. Pilots from all around the world fly safely every day. But I guess he doesn’t do tours in Asia, Africa, or South America so why would he think of that before going on a racist rant about airline pilots 🙄
Yeah and also the average person doesn't notice or care what the pilot flying their plane looks like. So for Kirk to put so much thought into it and get himself angry over a non-issue is nothing short of a self report on his racism
Saying that getting rid of DEI and Affirmative Action will fix this comes from a place of EXTREME privilege. Study after study has shown that their is a hierarchy when it comes to hiring someone (and most things, but we'll stick to hiring). It'd be nice if women and men were seen as having equal competency (given that, y'know, they do) and that race didn't matter (given that we made it up), but that's not the case. A white male is seen as a better hire than a black female, even if they are of same competency. Merit-based hiring or choosing the best is a myth that has long since been busted.

Don’t say they have a dark heart. That will make them go insane.
Yup....the part that pisses me off is the constant gaslighting from so called "allies" when you point these things out....
@@taomasharu1597 Lol!🤣
Their favorite canard is, "I'm not a racist, I'm a race realist!" That's a distinction without difference.

But then went "why did I just think that?" "what a racist thought." "of course I'm safe, I need to do better.""Let's analyze why and what led to those thoughts so I can do better."

A door blowing off is not a piloting error; it's a structural flaw. The pilot did her job perfectly; like, seriously pulled a Sullenberger. But because she's a black woman rather than a white man, they're trying to _make_ a structural flaw _into_ a piloting error.

Thats not true. What it means is that the company will make sure certain percentage of employees are from certain characteristics (race, sexual preference etc).

Pretty obvious that DEI (like the ridiculous panic over CRT before it) is nothing more than a Trojan Horse for the most bog standard sort of old school racism.
None of these dudes can fight.
😂🤣😅😆 AS A BLACK AMERICAN WHEN I HEAR THEM TALK LIKE THIS IT JUST MAKE CAUSES ME TO LAUGH OUT LOUD AT THEM AS OPOSSE TO GETTING ANGRY BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY THE REACTION THESE FOOLS WANT US TO HAVE BUT I CANT GET INTENSLY MAD AT THEM BECAUSE I CONSIDER THEM TO ALL BE A BIG JOKE TO LAUGH AT - ( NOT WITH!) / Pennsylvania 🏳️🌈🔵🇺🇲
I thought that maybe he would just try to slightly backpedal and pretend it was bad wording, but holy fucking shit he just went mask off.
“I have no love for America, as such, I have no patriotism. I have no country.”
-Fredrick Douglas
"For revolting barbarity and shameless hypocrisy America reigns without a rival."
-Frederick Douglass
It is absolutely who you are Charlie. To your bones.
“I suspect every black person of being under qualified for their position…how is that racist?”
Kirk has a lot of influence in right wing circles.. Have him go out and find all of these unqualified Black pilots that he thinks these airlines are hiring.. It should be very easy to contact the varies airlines and get this information.. He won't attempt this because he knows that he won't find one single solitary Black pilot who is not qualified.. Because this is not about safety.. These attacks on DEI are about getting rid of any and all Black people in positions of authority.
I wish these guys would just put their hoods back on. They talk like they already have.
I’m sorry but I’m never going to trust anyone whose eyes are that close together.
Everytime Kirk says something racist, his head gets a little bigger and his face gets a little smaller. He's been at it for a while.
I KNEW my black doctor was trying to kill me! Yes, me after not spending over a decade in med school
_"The left made us do this"_ *- The party of personal responsibility*
The Left also grabbed Charlie Kirk's hand and made him punch himself in his tiny face as they mockingly repeated *_"Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!"_*
"Now look, you made me go and do a racism!"
Do these people not realize that an airline won't let you pilot their planes unless you are qualified.
People should be allowed to live without fear of harassment, without fear of losing their freedoms, without the fear of an act of violence will be committed against them and the fear of losing their lives because of their culture/ethnicity.
Wow, the Quartering has two black dads and his wife is a pilot. Amazing!
She probably went out to get pizza without him again after that comment!
The party of personal responsibility can't even take responsibility for their own internal thoughts.
10:35 - It's like WW2 all over again. I thought the Tuskegee Airmen proved that black men can perform on the flight stick. Shit, even the online video game "Enlisted" has a shout out to them, with a DLC of a Tuskegee Airmen (and his plane). This is well trodden soil.
I would think a Black pilot would be more educated than Charlie Kirk. They wouldn’t be college dropouts like Charlie. Maybe Charlie is just jealous.
We had a school assembly when I was younger that went almost exactly like this. We had a priest come in to talk to us about various things and the topic was sexism. He went into this story about him flying home to New Zealand and he heard the voice of a woman pilot and asked himself if he really thought she could fly the plane. He didn't get to come back for a few months and we had to have a better assembly about sexism instead.
I think the story was meant to be about evaluating our morals to see if they're good but the priest messed up delivery.
What are Charlie Kirk's qualifications for.. anything? He's Matt Walsh with a worse haircut.
My favorite part is the guy with the glasses looking around nervously thinking "Shit! how do I fix this, how do I fix this? Ummmm...it's the left's fault!"
The thing is, those of us on the left call out their racism because we think/hope it’ll encourage these people to think about what their saying and challenge their beliefs and motivations, but they don’t have the capacity for it. It’s not received as an observation, they just think it’s name-calling.
Can anyone get canceled by being racist against him? What race background is he anyway? What do you name the people with shrunk faces? So many questions.
charlie descends from the tribe of mayonaise and milk.
Black Women! In the two examples Charlie Kirk gave he specifically stated two WOMEN characters! Please I need those on the left to acknowledge misogynoir more, it’s killing me (figuratively and literally)!
Is it bad that I can't tell if the thumbnail is edited to make his face small.
College dropout Charlie Kirk is questioning black pilots qualifications? That’s rich.
God damn, his head is so weird
