What about all the stuff I have read about RT springs being too short and needing spacers?

Depending on the bike you have, yes, you made need spacers that will come included. I had to use some in my 23 YZ450F. Not a big deal, you dust measure your springs compared to the RT and add as many spacers as needed. - Chase

Why does a 4.8 kg rear shock spring support a MUCH MUCH lower weight rider (as listed on your website), than a 4.9 kg shock spring for an OEM 2019 Yamaha YZ250X, as listed in the Yamaha maintenance manual?
You would think that the same kilogram rating would support the same weight rider whether it was a Race Tech rear shock spring or a Yamaha OEM Spring.
    I am totally confused.
Note that the Yamaha OEM maintenance manual lists the 4.9 kg Spring as in the middle range of about 7 listed Springs

Most manufactures have settings for the majority of people. In this case, they set the bikes up soft for Novice/"C" class riders. Moving up in skill or speed definitely requires different spring rates.

Is there any way to get the spring rate on my kx100 to handle 180lbs its doesn't list it on your website

We don't carry that spring but you can go to Race Tech's website and enter your bike and weight and then you will see available spring options. You can also contact them directly to make sure you get the correct spring for your weight and style of riding.

    Weight with or without gear?

Race Tech specifies ordering your springs for your weight without gear. When setting sag, you should be geared up.
