  • Modern bikes are excellent straight out of the box, but manufacturers can't make a perfect suspension setting for the wide range of riders that buy a new machine. If you are below or above the '75-80kg sweet spot' in weight, changing the fork and shock spring for your weight is crucial to getting your bike handling its best out on the trail or track.

    Hey, on the KTM book (exc-f) it only mentions heavier fork springs if needed, do you need lighter springs on the forks if you go with the next spring lighter on the shock ? Or will you get away with it.

    Why measure the shock length .

      @@shogun678 Yes. But on the other spring the sag was diferent . This measurent has no big sens. Sag need to set

      @@myszapm each spring rate works best with a set amount of preload on the spring, think 8mm. so as you change the spring rate that 8mm preload equates to different sag measurements. if you're 89kg trying to get the correct rider sag with a stock spring you'd have to wind so much preload on the spring the valving would no longer be able to dampen correctly.
