We spent days digging round tree stumps in our back garden and trying to cut every root to finally get rid of them. Like you using all the wrong tools or blunt tools that we had in the shed. We know just how it feels. Very entertaining video.

That tree didn’t want to go, well done with the tools you had

Nice of your neighbor to help out. He had the right-sized chain saw, looks like.
For your next tree, i think you want to saw/chop a notch into the side if the tree facing the direction you want it to fall. The notch's crux should reach the middle of the trunk. Then you come around the other side and have a whack/saw slightly above the notch on the other side. When it's about to fall over, you'll hear the trunk begin to crack. Best not to saw/chop from nor stand/kneel/sit on the side that the tree will be falling.
    V best wishes.

That little tree was quite a battle. I think you are both much fitter since you bought your lemon.😊

It was a real wrestling act. We hated to lose the apple tree but it was for the best on this occasion.

Good job. Please don't add subtitles on screen. We can add them if needed. Your English is just fine.

We were just trying it to see what people felt. Some had asked for it before. We will probably take your advice.

He was a bit risky with that chain saw, bare legs and no eye protection. I also think it was a bit blunt, should have made short work of that tree.

That seems to be the way of things here. He is in his mid 80s so not for a us to tell him. But we were grateful for him being a great neighbour.

I would never use wood from a fruit tree as firewood. Use it for BBQ. Your meat will come out beautiful. I'm from Texas, and we pride ourselves in BBQ.
