The house is looking amazing BUT the expense and time and sheer craftsmanship of the granite stairs are worth every euro my word every time you walk up them I'm sure your hearts will just flutter with joy, they are so beautiful.
I believe you have made the best possible choice for the floors. Windows and hard floors in cool tones, the ancient stones and wood can speak their loudest. We are totally privileged and thankful to share in your journey, so whatever you have for us produced in the limited time you have available, is underserved grace.
Loving the understated tiles, loving both chandeliers, loving the veranda steps, it's all looking fabulous. I hope the video views contribute a little towards the renovation budget. I never would have believed the builders could do such an authentic renovation on a practically derelict house, but they have done such marvellous work, though I imagine it has cost a fortune! Struth, I'd be worried about the weight of those granite blocks. The concrete doesn't look strong enough. There's more granite than concrete. Glad the professionals know what they are doing. It is coming together beautifully. Lovely slate tiles. Gorgeous chandeliers.

Would it not be nice in the future to put old stone on it, like they did on the concrete parts of your house. Than it will be not an ugly brick Wall, but part off your house.... It's getting close, the vision is becoming a reality....that gorgeous steal of a deal chandelier will soon find it's place. An exhaustive effort but so so far ahead of most retirees and so lucky to have each other. How many of us wish we'd gone a similar route at least 25 years ago given the state of Western nations now. Even the wealthy in LA are where you were a year ago and by the time you're in, they'll have just begun ..... Though it may not feel like it, each episode reveals tremendous progress......hopefully a bit of a rest at some point in 2025 to allow yourselves to catch up in all ways and savour the accomplishment. ♥️🇨🇦

The builders and engineer are quite skilled and experienced so I trust the stairs. There is an enormous amount of rebar in the base. 😊

Chandelier use baby wipes to clean them, I have had chandeliers for 40 years this has worked out the best way for me.

Happy New Year it is looking like you have a exciting year ahead, The progress is wonderful. I love your choice of lighting, especially the brass one. Looking forward to seeing them installed. I know you will enjoy the slate tile for many years to come, they will age beautifully over time. Even the wealthy in LA are where you were a year ago and by the time you're in, they'll have just begun .....
Though it may not feel like it, each episode reveals tremendous progress......hopefully a bit of a rest at some point in 2025 to allow yourselves to catch up in all ways and savour the accomplishment.

WOW, just WOW..looking awesome. Love that you have used slate for the verandah, such a beautiful stone. I am still hoping that you render the walled garden area and paint it white.
