Among the sea of small moments in this skit that I absolutely love, my favorite is definitely the implication that the producers of this game show allowed the guy who plays Chunky to think of “what he does” over the course of an entire summer and then proceeded to not ask him what that thing was before they started filming
Even better when Tim's character admits he created the game therefore leaving the viewer to wonder why he left another dude to think of a pretty important part of HIS game
@@Redfoot138 They even worked together. Tim is (was?) represented by Bob Odenkirk’s wife Naomi, and he produced a pilot called My Mans (starring Tim). It was based on a sketch show he did with Mark Raterman, who gets thrown into a china cabinet on I Think You Should Leave.
Honestly, the idea that whenever you flip a chunky a man in a chunky costume comes out and just kinda does a whatever he wants is ironically a premium idea for a game show. I’d watch that.
Underrated Secret Joke: Guy guesses 3rd Row 2nd Column Down and host just opens 3rd Row 3rd Down with a Chunky. Then the girl picks 3rd row 3rd down which we already know is a chunky, but host picks 3rd row, 4th down which is money. Then the guy picks the same square, but this time its a chunky.
@@mattpetersgm Hahahahaha no shit, I've been saying "I came up with this game, I know what all the little things are!" whenever someone questions if I know what i'm doing.
I feel like this Tim captured the essence of a controlling kid who makes up a game for his friends and hasnt really worked out the kinks yet. Anyone else get that?
One of my favourite parts is how he goes “what game show have you ever seen that has swearing on it” like he doesn’t even have a reason to be against swearing other than he’s trying to make a game show and he wants it to be like all the other ones Which makes it even funnier that he’s leaving it up to Chunky to figure out what he does given that it seems like it’s HIS project that he wanted to do
"You want to put the hat on him?" One woman in the audience: "Yeah!" "Fine, I'm wearing my own hat!" Audience: "Boo! Hiss!" This show is comedic gold 😂
Me to i tought it suck the first time.. i was just watching bits here and there..i gave it another try and laugh like crazy and i watched it like 8 times already..its weird i don’t know what happened the first time.. Maybe its because i had just finnish watching aunty donna’s big ol’ house of fun and it was a different humor..i needed to adjust...lol
This sketch perfectly articulates how the modern workplace feels to me when the older generations try to figure out younger people. No guidance, expecting perfection of us from the start, and any suggestions we make are met with screams for us to be quiet. We are ALL Chunky. You more than the rest, Dave. Ya, I'm talking to you. You think you can just steal another man's wife and he would just forget, David? Well, I didn't forget a thing. Best thing anyone ever did for me, and I appreciate it. *fistbump*
Took me awhile to understand the skit, but Andy Samberg's character hadn't gotten any points for Chunky to devour, so his only course of action was to break his laptop and put him in the negative. You gotta hand it to Chunky, he was actually trying. Dan Vega was just being unreasonably critical!
My favorite moment in this is 1:12 he is obviously pulling on a fake arm and I assume everyone watching is expecting the joke of the sketch to be that Chunky is a violent murderer, but then nothing truly violent happens and it just continues to be this weird awkward fever dream and I love it so much more for that
I love that Andys first turn he says third row second down, but the host flips the third row third down just to start the chaos. I love that it was most likely intentional in universe.
"second row, four down from the left" absolutely stopped me in my tracks edit: my god in heaven almost none of the called positions match the board what's happening tim

This is what happens when you don’t go through rehearsal.
Even better when Tim's character admits he created the game therefore leaving the viewer to wonder why he left another dude to think of a pretty important part of HIS game
Like a summer assignment you get in high school lol
And it’s named after him 😂
I love that Tim fully is just turning over whatever square on the board he wants and not the ones Andy is actually calling out.
The callouts also don’t make any sense “third row third one down” “third down fourth row”
I never even realized that lol

Paul doesn't have any points for Chunky to eat, that's why he doesn't know what to do. Kind of a bug in the system.
Lol thank god you’re here to make sense of this for all of us
Frank!! He had all summer to figure it out!? I mean...CMON!!!
He had since freaking May to think of what to do when no one had points and he got called out there.

Honestly chunky talking really broke my immersion. I don’t see what everyone’s laughing about, Tim had a good point
I know, right? He had all summer to think of it too.
It wasn't realistic because his mouth didn't move. They need to add some CG effects, then I would be onboard with talking Chunky.
Yeah up until then I was really excited to learn What Chunky's Deal Is.
It almost felt like Chunky sabotaged the show by making it look fake.
A lot of people say Tim lays on the yelling too thick but I legit can't stop laughing. There is such genuine distress in his screams.

Underrated detail in this sketch: the squares are unlabeled so they have to clarify their row and position number
Trosper didn't pay enough for that.
What they say is irrelevant. You don't really get the game
Also the host ignored what square they said and turned over whichever square he wanted
I'm definitely getting thrown off by how they're referring to the columns on the board as rows.
