I could clean it up a little better but it is working for now. I do plan on moving the radio body elsewhere so it doesn't overheat or get damaged. Thanks for watching!
Odd question: How does that antenna do going down the road? Has anybody said to you it bends over bad in the wind? One review on DXE said it bent over significantly at highway speeds. Thanks
@aa5az423 it's been on the truck for a while now, it has suffered from some bending because of trees/low hanging branches. At highway speeds it stays mostly upright from what i can see. It does have a spring at the base to help with the obstacles and the antenna is roughly 27" tall so it's fairly stout.
@@hamatuerhour6356 well, I've got the antenna at the house now. I've got a Bullet Proof Diesel third taillight NMO for it and I've got to get that installed. I've got a new SuperDuty and I'm looking forward to trying out this antenna. I've always used the big Diamond and Comet NMO antennas with long lengths, like 40+ or 50+ inches or whatever. I didn't want to do that up on a truck third taillight with a 4" lift kit LOL
@aa5az423 I chose this specific antenna because of the places I go during hunting season, many low hanging branches and I didn't want to hit on every little thing with a longer antenna. At the same time I wanted something bigger than a 1/4 wave.
Awesome demonstration of your radio's x-band repeater, straight and to the point. The install was decent also. Thanks for sharing.
