K0BLS HF remote

I set my station up as a remote station with a few headaches and a bit of head scratching... I have it operating! The programs I used: ZeroTier FTDXRC Remote Server FTDXRC CAT & Remote Control (the FTDXRC software can be found at DF3CB.com)
FT891 Power Pole Conversion
Переглядів 2892 роки тому
Replaced my standard 4 pin DC in plug with Power Poles. This was a simple project and didn't take too long. If you're active with pota or any kind of portable work i highly suggest doing this mod. Shout out to everyone in both the Ham Radio and 3d printing communities that make great stuff like this possible Thingiverse link: www.thingiverse.com/thing:5577798
Motorola HT1250 & HT750

Hopefully everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend. I'm a couple weeks late on a new video but heres a quick little overview of the Motorola HT1250 & 750 Radios.
A Basic understanding of VHF propagation methods
Переглядів 842 роки тому
I wanted this video to be aimed at the new ham radio operators who don't quite understand the modes of propagation and give them a very basic understanding on how these propagation modes work. I tried my best going over and giving a general overview without complicating things too much. Hopefully this helps out some of the new hams out there
KF0JVJ's Temp Station Setup
Переглядів 132 роки тому
Helped another local Ham setup a new station/temp station. He was ecstatic to get on the air and we made a contact that i did not get on video, just to test the equipment. I gave him a quick rundown on his equipment and let him have his fun with it.

ako si dostsl audio do PC?
Remaud is the program i used, its pretty simple. Just need to make sure you have ports forwarded for everything to work properly
Odd question: How does that antenna do going down the road? Has anybody said to you it bends over bad in the wind? One review on DXE said it bent over significantly at highway speeds. Thanks
@aa5az423 it's been on the truck for a while now, it has suffered from some bending because of trees/low hanging branches. At highway speeds it stays mostly upright from what i can see. It does have a spring at the base to help with the obstacles and the antenna is roughly 27" tall so it's fairly stout.
@@hamatuerhour6356 well, I've got the antenna at the house now. I've got a Bullet Proof Diesel third taillight NMO for it and I've got to get that installed. I've got a new SuperDuty and I'm looking forward to trying out this antenna. I've always used the big Diamond and Comet NMO antennas with long lengths, like 40+ or 50+ inches or whatever. I didn't want to do that up on a truck third taillight with a 4" lift kit LOL
@aa5az423 I chose this specific antenna because of the places I go during hunting season, many low hanging branches and I didn't want to hit on every little thing with a longer antenna. At the same time I wanted something bigger than a 1/4 wave.
Thanks for covering these and clarifying that they're not digital. It seems a lot of them have come on the market recently as they get phased out
Hahahahaha at 3:17 you went through two of my eBay listings 😂😂
Do you need to program these radios on a computer or can you from the menu or keypad? Thanks

Cool mini-shack tour. Loving the rails on your FT-891. How much would you charge to make rails for a FTM-200? Thanks for sharing.
Hey, I' am just seeing this now but the files for the rails are available on Thingiverse if you have a 3d printer, The rails are not my design so I cannot sell them and it would be right for me to sell them. The callsign of the person who designed and sells them is IU1OPK
Awesome demonstration of your radio's x-band repeater, straight and to the point. The install was decent also. Thanks for sharing.
I could clean it up a little better but it is working for now. I do plan on moving the radio body elsewhere so it doesn't overheat or get damaged. Thanks for watching!
Clear and concise info, without all that unnecessary filler that other UA-camrs force upon their subscribers. Thank you for sharing.
Great idea thanks 73 from kb2uew
It really is, it will work great for pota or field ops... and the video doesn't do it much justice with how much space it will save. If anything breaks for whatever reason it's super easy to get back in and change stuff and if you wanted to go back to the factory plug there's no irreversible modifications done to it.

Not bad for some old farts. : )
